I am seattle filer too filed my case on june 6. NOA1 : june 13...

Case ready to schedule interview: 22 Aug

No signs of EAD. I am thinking to request expedite ..but still unsure..as i dnt have any job offer letter as such but i have employment offer in mail ..

    133 days as of today..

Lets keep ouselves updated on eachothers progress as I feel seattle is going to take a lot of time both for AOS and EAD :(

Yes, let's all keep each other updated! I was hoping I would get EAD soon, like in October or November...and green card some time next year? I would request to expedite the EAD, but I don't have any job offers or anything, so I don't see what the point would be right now. My case switched to ready to schedule for interview on September 18th, but still nothing since then.

Filled in June as well, still stuck at "Fingerprint review was completed" since August 4th.

My case is ready to scheduled for an interview as well for the I-485, but I don't expect any updates until 2021 if I'm being honest 😕

Aww. Yeah mine is stuck at "Fingerprint review completed" since July 13th. You're not expecting updates until 2021? Omg! I was thinking at least 2020 for the green card. I was hoping to get EAD soon so I could at least work. Sooo much waiting. Ugh!

    Update: I HAVE MY VISAS!!!

I woke up this morning to a notification from Canada Post saying that there was an issue with my address and they're working on sorting it out, and my package won't be delivered until the 13th!
So I immediately called and they told me they're working on it and it could take up to the 16th to get my package delivered!
    OH HECK NO!
So I emailed the executive support person at Canada Post (the highest up on the chain of command) who had done the investigation the first time, and she immediately called the Mail Depot in my town and made them go and locate my package and bring it to the front. The depot called me and said they have the package and asked if I would like to go and pick it up, so I said I would be there asap.
While I was there, the consulate had emailed me because they noticed the an issue with the tracking as well.
I picked up and signed for the package, and opened it right there in the post office to make sure everything was complete. Not 10 minutes after I signed for it, I received an email from both the consulate AND Canada Post's Executive support asking me to confirm that I received it because they saw it was picked up. I confirmed and thanked them both for tracking my package the entire time along with me and had such fast responses.

I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY AND RELIEVED!!

    Moving Date June 20th!

WOOHOO! The wait is finally over!! Congrats!!!!! :)

So I have another update to post:

Yesterday I sent another email to the consulate asking for an update (since they never responded to me since the accidental reply mishap), and the USC sent an email to his Senator requesting an inquiry.

Today I personally received a phone call from the person at the Visa Unit who is handling my case.
She said that she wanted to call me to tell me she is sending me an email and  she wanted me to know so I look for it right away. They have received my new passports and are going to do everything possible to get my my visas reissued promptly. But unfortunately everything that went along in the sealed package with my missing passports, are also missing (obviously), and that I need to send them ALL my original documents + photocopies of everything I presented at the interview (Birth Certificates, Divorce Certificate, Divorce Decree, Custody orders for the kids, new passport photos for the visas, another copy of the criminal record check, etc) and they are contacting the medical examiner's office themselves to get another copy of our medical exams directly.
Why the heck wouldn't they ask me to send all that stuff when they asked me to send the new passports?? smh.

Anyways, she assured me that my file wasn't leaving her desk, and she instructed me to get all those things into the mail ASAP and told me what to write on the envelope so that it doesn't sit in the mail room.
She said that if I get it into the mail today, it would reach the Consulate on Tuesday. But because Monday is a holiday for them, she won't receive it until Wednesday. She said she is expediting everything so I will hopefully receive my new visas for the 4th of June.

I sent everything off today. Fingers crossed there's no more messing around and I indeed get my stuff back as quickly as they say.

YAY! That’s so awesome!! ☺️ I’m so glad to hear this positive news! And it’s great that that lady is totally on your side and helping you with your case. It sounds like you’re so close now!! I hope you do get your new visas on the 4th (or even sooner!)!

I hope so too. The packages were all delivered last Thursday, but I have not heard anything as of yet.
I sent an email to the consulate this morning asking to confirm they have received them and that they're not just sitting in some mail room.

Really? I’m surprised you haven’t heard back yet. :( I still don’t get what the hold up is. You should be their #1priority! Fingers crossed you hear back this week!!

Yesterday morning (with tears in my eyes and panic on my face), I dropped them back off with Canada Post to be sent out to Montreal...
It's now been over 20 hours since the last tracking update (when they arrived in good ol' Richmond... the same place my other ones were stolen from)... They are supposed to be delivered to the consulate tomorrow (according to my guaranteed delivery date)!

I swear this anxiety is going to make my heart stop beating.

I hope you hear back so soon!!!

I'm so happy for everyone! (and I'm so sad for myself.)

I have to wait until the end of the week before being told what to do re: my Passports/Visas.

The Consulate sent me an email today saying that if I report my passports as lost to Passport Canada, then I will have to start the entire visa process over again without compensation. I was strictly told to not do ANYTHING until I get told to do so, and to only work with them until told otherwise. 😞

It sucks so bad being so helpless and being stuck in limbo.

Omg I’m so sorry. I can’t believe that. How can they make you redo the whole entire process if it’s their fault?! Something has to be done, I can’t believe they would make you redo it. They better get back to you ASAP. :(

So far no email:( you think it may take a day or so for them to send over the tracking number?

I don't think so. I got the tracking number right away...I'm surprised they haven't sent it yet! But maybe they haven't physcially mailed it yet, and that's why?

Another update on my missing visas/passports:

2 hours ago I got a voicemail re: Canada Post, from executive support on behalf of Minister Qualtrough.
Prime Minister's cabinet is already investigating!

Then, 45 mins later, I got a phone call from my local MP.
Said that they contacted their connection at Canada Post and made my case go to the absolute highest person it can go to, and also marked it as the absolute highest priority.
They are turning the place upside down and I will receive a call back on Monday. If my package isn't located by then, they will personally help me do whatever needs to be done to fight and help replace my Passports/Visas.

Yay, that’s great! I’m glad they’re making you the top priority!! It has to turn up soon!

  10. 35 minutes ago, EdmoAm said:

If it comes to that, I really hope I won't have to reappear in person in Montreal again since the visas never even got to me and it's not my fault they got lost.

This morning I got my 3rd email from the Consulate with the same generic "dear applicant, we are working with Canada Post to locate your shipment. We will get back to you as soon as possible."
I replied back asking how long  we wait before proceeding with alternate measures (ie. reporting the passports lost/stolen, and reissuing the visas).
    Still waiting for a response.

I guess the universe's life lesson on patience isn't complete for me yet.

Yeah, this is definitely the biggest lesson of them all. It's too bad they can't get a real person just to email or call you about all of this. The generic responses aren't very helpful and only add to the frustration! I hope you hear some good news soon. I still don't get how it's taken this long...I mean, how do you lose such valuable mail?! Hopefully you just don't need to go back...that will save a lot of trouble!

  11. 18 hours ago, EdmoAm said:

Thank you. I have my fingers crossed too.
I REALLY REALLY hope it just magically appears. It will cost a lot of money to get new passports for everyone, and can you imagine if I have to go back to Montreal to get replacement visas?? OMG!
I would bill Canada Post for all the expenses. But this stress is brutal. My birthday is on Sunday and I was hoping to be moved and spend it with my fiance.

I know, it just appearing magically would be ideal! And having to pay for new passports or go back to Montreal...I mean, that would be so expensive...I’d definitely expect them to pay since it’s their fault. I’m sorry it’s your birthday this weekend too and you can’t spend it with your fiancé. :( Hopefully the universe has a reason for all this happening and it all just works out for the best once you get all your documents back! No more stress!!

    No, still nothing. 😭

The Consulate sent me a message saying they're working with Canada Post on locating my package and to wait for further instructions.

I have contacted my local MP and also the Prime Minister's office and have signed consent forms for them to see what they can do also.

This really sucks. I checked my passport number on the border crossings (i94) and at least " I " haven't crossed the border yet.

    Smh.

Omg. I can’t believe that. I’m so sorry. :(  They better give you some sort of a refund for all this stress and hassle. You are SO close to all this being over, and it’s Canada Post’s fault you’re still waiting. Unbelievable. Hopefully someone you’ve contacted can do something about it. It’s just so unfortunate, and I’m sure it will all work out in the end, but this waiting part really sucks. :( I have my fingers crossed for you!!

Here's an update on my situation.

    Package shipped on March 18th.
    Guaranteed delivery date: March 21st
Last scan on package: March 20th. (Richmond BC)

3 phone calls to Canada Post.
1 call back from Canada Post Case Manager. (March 26th)
4 emails to various US Consulate and Department of State departments. (who are now investigating)
1 phone call to Canada Post facility in Richmond (wrong place, but the guy said he would call over to the right one. Said maybe the package fell off the belt)

I have written the following letter and forwarded it to the local MLA, the premier of BC (even though Canada Post is federal and not provincial), the Prime Minister, and 4 news stations (I am not playing around, this is mine and my kid's life and identity):

Hey girl, any updates?! I can't imagine how stressful this would all be!! :( I hope it gets resolved soon if it hasn't already. Thinking of you!!

  14. 21 hours ago, EdmoAm said:

Canada Post literally just called me. Apparently they're requesting the local office do a manual check in case something happened to the barcode on the package and that's why it hasn't scanned since the 20th. "It's highly unusual that you haven't received it yet." Ummm obviously! That package is also an identity thief's dream come true.
I have also sent emails to the consulate asking them to investigate because any investigations on lost mail needs to be from the sender.
    What a ******** nightmare.

Aww! :( I hope you get it soon. This is such a long process, and the last thing you need is a problem with Canada Post. You’re so close!! Fingers crossed everything gets sorted and you get your visa soon!!!

Hey guys. So we still haven't received any notification but does anyone know if we can still change the shipping location of the passport/visa? We're planning on leaving Montreal and my fiance is heading back to Toronto over the weekend if we don't hear anything by then. I do see that on the Visa appointment website there is a option to change the location but i remember vaguely while booking my fiance's appointment back in january that we can't change the the details of the appointments from 6am on the day of the visa interview. Does that mean i can't change it? I wouldn't want me changing the location  to cause any further delays.  Does anyone have any clue? We would rather have it shipped to Toronto than have to come back to Montreal.

In hindsight, we messed up. We thought we'd get the visa back within a week but here we are.

Hey! So I looked back at one of my emails, and it does say that you only have until 6 a.m. on the day of your interview to change your delivery address: "You only have until [date of interview] 06:00 local time to change the location where your visa documents will be delivered. After the time indicated above, the option to change the courier location will be deactivated from your account and at this point no courier changes will be allowed." I guess you could always go into your account and see if the option is still there or if there's anything else you can do, but unfortunately it looks like you would have had to already changed it.

Hi guys. I had my interview this morning. I got approved. It was straightforwarded questions. I think it lasted like 5 minutes.  Thanks for all your help here. Hope it won't take too long for them to issue my visa since I'm permanent resident. Will update here soon. Goodluck to everyone.

    Congrats!! ☺️
