So I lost my green card while traveling to India. I still have the i-512L travel document that was issued while the green card was processing. Can I use the travel doc to come back to the US and then file i-90 to get the green card reissued?

Had our interview at Newark this past Thursday. Went pretty well, the person interviewing us was pretty chill. Probably talked more about Disney and vacations than actual questions. He did go through all the questions listed on the application though.
I guess they can't tell you on the spot if you're approved or not, since he whispered to us that we were approved

Nice!!, we have our interview scheduled at Newark as well.

It takes several BUSINESSES typically 3 to 5 for letter to arrive at residence! Your interview will be scheduled several weeks from the day you recieve the NOA. I wouldnt stress about it. You will have plenty of time to prepare for it. Congrats!
Thanks! Can't wait to finish up this process

Checked case status today and it said "Interview Was Scheduled" finally. EAD card is still being processed. They said they mailed a letter on the 17th, haven't gotten anything yet.
Can I call them to find out the date of the interview?
-
Just googling around and I came across cases where interview wasn't required.

Thanks, we did get a call from the embassy that our interview is next week and they haven't received the case (NVC sent it on 9/4). Luckily they did say they will call us in 2 days and let us know if we can keep that appointment. Fingers crossed.

Does the Mumbai embassy usually email the packet 4? Our case left the NVC on the 4th. Hoping it gets to Mumbai by the 7th as "Ready".

Yay, mine is in transit now as well.

It depends on your embassy. Some allow it, some don't. Mine (Stockholm) does NOT allow that before you've received P3 with instructions.
So US Travel Docs allowed us to schedule the interview I’m assuming that’s different from the embassy

Anyone able to book their interview yet? Our case status is "At NVC". Is it safe to schedule interview for mid-September?
-
I guess we still have to play the wait game even after waiting this long for NOA 2
-
Anyone notice they are only showing one date available? Is the US travel Doc website update regularly on what dates and times are available?

Have they received yours yet? I see someone last night say they called and theirs was received, but no case number yet. They also had a NOA2 of August 8th.
I just called them this morning and they haven't received it. I wonder if USCIS does batches during the week.

My NOA2 was August 8th, hoping I can have a case number by Friday. Fingers crossed

The answer is Embassy specific. Some allow others make you wait and jump through some hoops to get their permission to schedule. I can't speak for your Embassy because I can't tell without you completing your profile.
Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.
So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.
Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.
Thanks
thanks, just added my timeline.

So after we get the case number from NVC then we can schedule for the interview or do we have to wait for the embassy to get it first?
