  1. Hello Everyone:

Im a green card holder and Im going to apply to naturalization on March of 2021.

I have my elder parent +80 that I need to bring to the states because I dont have nobody to take care of them in my home country.

They are travelling with a tourist visa in March 2021, so actually when I get the chance to AOS they have to overstay.

Is this risky? They wont work or anything like that.

    Any advice??

    Thanks a lot!

Hi! The trip was definitely veeeeeery long and the cat complained quite a bit, but not impossible to bear. I was so stressed about it, worried about all kinds of terrible scenarios (including her dying from stress – I know it sounds absurd!). Luckily, the cat recovered super fast. Basically she went from absolutely mad and miserable to "this whole house is mine!" as soon as I freed her from the carrier. It was such a relief! She was on the old side (10 at the time) and not the most patient cat, either.

At the airport they looked at the cat's paperwork just as a formality but didn't seem particularly concerned / interested / difficult about anything. They basically just glanced at it and then focused on my own paperwork. I did have the rabies shot certificate, which was the only thing they needed I think.

If you have any other specific questions feel free to ask! And good luck about everything 🙂

Thank you so much for your response, im anxious a Well cause im travelling from uruguay and the flight duration is 9 hrs. The cat Will travél under the seat With me. But im worried if he Will freak out and eveeybody Would want to kill me to bring him With me. But im scared to send him in cargo.

    Yours travel in cargo?

    Thanks again.

Hi everyone! I hope I am not writing in the wrong section of the forum.

I have recently been approved for my spouse visa and will be entering the US next Monday; however, I am a little unsure about what the procedure will be upon entry.

Can anyone please help me understand what to expect? I will be carrying my passport with the immigrant visa and the sealed folder, plus the medical folder from the medical examination I did before the interview.

I will be entering through Washington Dulles and I was told at the Consulate that I should be in line with the visitors and hand them my folder and the rest of the stuff. How long does the procedure take? Do I have to state anything specific in my customs form? Does anyone have any experience with this they could share with me?

Not sure if this makes a difference but I'll be traveling with a cat, whose paperwork with shots records and good health certificate has already been gathered.

I'm getting a little nervous about missing something, so any help is appreciated 🙂

    Thanks in advance!

I Know this post is old but im in the same situation i have to travél by myself With a cat and my husband is going to be Waiting for me at miami poe. How Was ur experience With the pet!? They asked u for your vacination récords?

    Thanks

I just got off the phone with NVC.  It was a long wait but she was very nice and answered questions on all 3 of my cases.  The "incomplete" is a mistake.  She told me not to upload anything because that resets their review period.  If you uploaded anything to them today you showed have it reviewed in 3 weeks.  She did say that the issue started today.  and they have had lots of calls.

I also made the mistake of uploading my transcript when I finally got it.  The AOS was accepted and since I uploaded another file it starts the clock again.  She said that the petition that was DC on May 1 will be reviewed again by June 3...some expedite!  LOL  She suggested I upload the file that asked for in my step son's petition to my step daughter too since I have to wait anyway...

i have been waiting for an interview two months , so now that i re send it the document all that wait was in vane?

If you've received the "documentary qualified" email from NVC, then just wait for your interview to be scheduled, this takes about a month after case complete.  And take ALL your original documents to your interview, including the divorce decree or certificate, whatever it is, in case the IO asks you about it.

Yes was on march 14 completed, two months ago and Still Waiting

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  CEAC did maintenance on the website over the weekend.  My sister already has her interview date, however, the civil documents for one of her daughters changed to 'Incomplete' after the maintenance.  When the case was loaded to CEAC, she was not 16 yet, so the police certificate wasn't initially required. Afterwards, she turned 16 and they asked for it. We submitted the police certificate under 'optional documents' because the field was not showing in 'required documents'...now when I log in to CEAC, under 'required documents' there's the field for the Police Certificate and it shows missing.

Since you got 'documentarily qualified', NVC is/should be done processing the case on their end and they're just waiting to schedule your interview.

Thank you, that is what they told me when i called to NVC today, but i Was not sure they were Just saying that or actually Was what it Was.

Where are you from ? I think you're confusing your birth certificate that shows up on a page when you get married and when you divorced.
But there is also a separate marriage certificate and a divorce decree. the latter is the one they ask for. It is my opinion .

im from uruguay. no isnt my birth certificate. in my country they give u the marriage certificate stamped with the divorce decree. doesnt exist just a divorce certificate by itself

Normally, the birth record has annotations of marriage and divorce, but there is a certificate of marriage and divorce Decree. I understand that they need the divorce certifícate. Download it and when your CEAC account shows accepted you will be ready for the next step of medical examination and interview,.

yes but my case was completed and approved already. and the marriage/divorce certificate was approved on november of 2018.

Who said that you needed to re-send/re-upload docs? I thought we meant you got the info from NVC website when you checked for your upload docs' status.

My case Was completed two months ago, i always check the ceac website Just in case and today i Saw in documents the Word in complete in Red colour, so i clicked and the divorce certificate has the Word missing.

So i upload ed again With a note saying in my country divorce and marriage are in the same page all translated. After i called nvc and ask about this, somebody said they r going to ask the supervisor and after told me i should ignore that incomplete Word. Cause they have my case completed. But now i dont Know what to think if they are saying that cause the c.o Who have my case didnt send the email yet or what. I dont Know if upload the Whole sentence of divorce too.

Some one from Uruguay may be able to have you address on if your doc is correct one.

Regarding the system, I do not think we can see absolute fairness in immigration system (or any "human" systems) from any countries. Who knows - US immigration systems may be actually much more transparent and much more completed than many other countries out there - it is just that the number of people who would like to immigrate to US are many more than others.

i dont know about, i just called to nvc they said i should ignore it that my case is completed, so im lost

    • Just re-upload/re-send what you are asked to do. Also, check your email (s) listed on CEAC to see if email(s) are correct  and check your spam folder.  I believe they send their review results in batch (all at the end of business day) - so you may need see the email right away.
    • Separate the divorce certificate and marriage certificate as two docs. If you're required to upload, use additional section if you need to.

ok thank you, but the problem is in my country marriage and divorce certificate is in the same page, is like a stamp the divorce certificate, but they are asking me divorce final decree. what that is? cause in each country have diferent meaning, and why 2 months later than my case is completed? thats weird and unfair. after 2 months more theyre going to keep asking for new documents.
