can i get a drivers license in Georgia while i wait? with the noa1? or i have to wait for work permit?
Your best bet would be to check with GA filers who have tried their luck with their DMV office. I've tried with mine in CA, and they insist that the combo card will be the only way they'll proceed with my DL

Hiya guys, just checking with anyone who's in the same boat during the current administration's stance on immigration and immigrants.
Have you attempted to get in touch with the local DMV office (I'm in Sonoma county) about applying for a state ID while your AOS is pending? The current crop of discussion leans towards 'nope', but my husband and I are getting annoyed that he needs to babysit me (with his state ID) whenever we need to get something done that requires some form of ID (getting liquor and sending mail out via FedEx, for example). (All cards on the table, I don't mind bringing my passport, NOA1, and marriage certificate wherever I go, but I can't do that every time I head to Safeway).
Thanks in advance

hi
correct. now if the co sponsor was his mom who lives with him in the same house, then the mom would file the i864A
but the joint sponsor files his or her own
while your husband files his i864 as primary sponsor
Thanks, aleful! Appreciate the confirmation

Hiya fellow VJers,
We got an RFE for our I-485 form requesting for our joint sponsor's I-864 (affidavit of support) that my husband had overlooked. We'll be sending this form out, but I wanted to confirm with anyone who had their I-864 sorted: the primary sponsor submits his own I-864, while a joint sponsor also sends her own I-864 but not an I-864A form, right? (Our household is only the 3 of us)Thanks in advance for any info/help

THERE'S IS THE PROBLEM . i provide only one i mean one on top of my files and one on top of my wife's daughter's files . should i be worried about something
Shouldn't be a problem your NOA1s will be sent to you regardless, and if you want to check your status, the USCIS site offers it as well: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Did you provide 1 or all 3 G-1145 forms? Some got 3 notifications because we attached the form to all 3 applications

It’s been over 2 weeks still no NOA1 or text/email notification, is this normal?
Have the parcel tracking showed that the packet arrived at Chicago? Or perhaps the email notification is in a junk/spam folder?

Possibly so....I'm thinking the same thing because the notice date on our biometrics appointment letter is 8/17 which is a day after I got the 3 email and text notifications. Maybe this letter just beat the NOA1 hardcopy by day or so.
That sounds like the likeliest case USPS gets things mixed up at times, haha

Glad to hear we're all getting our biometrics appointment mine is set for Sep 04, but we got a Request for Initial Evidence (RFIE) on our I-485. Will update what's it for as soon as we get our hardcopy

Am I supposed to get a NOA1 hardcopy still or does this take the place of it?
I believe there should be a NOA1 hardcopy in the mail that's separate from the biometrics appointment letter. Maybe it'll be in the mail on Monday?

Can you tell me, do we need 6 photos or only two? Does each package need its own seperate copies for the documentation or do we simply submit one set for the entire package?
You'll need a set of photo for each form, so a total of 6 and same goes to the documents. This is because they're for different paperwork, I think

Thanks for updating your case on this; we're just filing and your answer helped in ours

I did went to SS office last week and the guy told me that they can’t change my last name cause my I-94 had expired, so was wondering if there some people here who were able to change their lastname, got state id and dl with the AOS NOA1
Re: changing last names on SS card with NOA1
- this should depend on the office you'll be visiting. My Santa Rosa SSA office wanted to see my green card before proceeding with using my married name. We're thinking of the SF office to try again with our marriage license, because they're more familiar with K1 cases
State ID and DL
- from what I've heard from family members, California allows immigrants (without papers) to sign up for these IDs because we're a sanctuary state. But I would advise to wait for either the EAD or your GC to get a smoother application. Again, how things go will depend on the office you'll be visiting (some staff members are more in-the-know than others)

I would spend the money and do it right. Do the vaccines and submit the paperwork before the I-94 expires. Here's why:
Filling 'out of status' was ignored before, but we've all seen the new changes that USCIS is going through. The future implications are unknown.
Come September, USCIS will no longer send RFE's. They can just reject you. Do you really want to risk it? $1225 vs the money for the vaccines?
The proof of I-693 or the DS-3025 is part of the documents required for filling for an adjustment of status, not for the interview for the green card.
Do it on time and do it right. Or else you risk the future of your married life in US.
Just my two cents.
I too agree with DownToEarth here. The current administration has been retroactively getting to naturalized residents at this point, and my husband has been making sure that there is no reason for them to get to me when my papers are due. It's a sign of the times :/
