  1. The 90 day work authorization is virtually useless anyways. It would be fine if you were going to be given a job by a family member or friend, but to try and find work with it is nearly impossible. On the positive side they have been getting the temp EAD card out very fast , sometimes just after 1 month of filling. It takes time to adjust to life here and I guess this is just the first of many adjustments you two will face. My husband was the same way and it made the time he until he found a job very depressing and hard time. Its a hard time in the economy and its important to be flexible in you expectations. I wish you both the best of luck. I think it took 3 months to find part time work and 6 to get a "real job"

  2. wow ! what a hard situation , I understand exactly where you are coming from, it just sounds like this woman is kinda simple minded and only can see the world through her own small lens. I think when you see her again just be honest you felt like the way she was talking really disrespectfully of your people and you don't need to talk anymore about issues of culture or religion and you wish to just move forward/ I know its so hard when people are so arrogant!! Hope it works out ok

just agree to disagree a person like this will never see shes in the wrong

  3. Well as for me my husband has been here just over 6 months. He has two part time jobs one of which is in his field  . It was quite a bumpy road finding work and adjusting but now that he is working things have been really nice. And to top it off we recieved his greencard today

I am so thankful for mena journey I mean visa journey without the support this process would have been that much harder.

  4. I think all you babies are beautiful ..... What kind of lowlife makes fun of babies ?

As for the other site I never knew it existed, but it looks like it could be interesting, but why people were being so two faced is beyond me. If you don' like VJ then don't come Stay in your new virtual world and leave the others out of it

  5. Hi My Friends,

Well, we had our interview last Friday and we WERE APPROVED!!!:dance: Finally! We had the interview in San Francisco, so we just took Bart. We got to the Federal Building about 15 minutes before the interview, the interview was at 8 am. There were only a few couples waiting, not a lot of people. We were called in about 8:15 am, and were interviewed by a gentleman named Nazeer, he appeared to be middle eastern. Anyways, he swore us in. And started to ask me, the US CITIZEN about my address, my date of birth, etc...general information, then he went to ask my husband the same questions. He asked if we had been married before, we said no. If we had kids together, we said no, if we had kids out of our marriage, we said no. He had a thick file in his desk, with all of our paperwork. He then ask, how did you meet? So I started telling him and then my husband talked about it too. He then asked if I had documents to prove our relationship. I had a folder and I gave him bank statement, shared insurance bill, life insurance in both of our names, a newspaper clipping that had our picture, our wedding album, honeymoon pictures. He actually looked at them all. He then left the office to make copies of the documents I provided as evidence. He was gone for about 5 minutes. He then said, congratulations you have been approved and your card should be ordered in about 3 days. And that was it, he was a nice gentleman, we did not feel intimidated.

     congrats
