  1. Hi Everyone, Hoping I can get some help / reassurance on our AOS

I received the NOA June 26, 2019 and Case is Ready to be scheduled for an Interview since 09/04/2019 - and basically no update since then. I have already sent in EAD and AP renewals.

We are in NYC which I know is long wait times but scrolling through this thread I see other NYC members have had interviews since pre covid, that have already been rescheduled and approved. I also see here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?op8=New+York+City+NY that people around our filing schedule have been interviewed already.

I just want to make sure I haven't missed something here, or done something wrong? Should I be expecting a letter to schedule an interview soon, and how does someone in similar situation become so far ahead of us?

    thank you

  2. Unfortunately we weren't able to get a SSN before marriage due to time constraints, and I am now I am in the process of filling out the AOS forms. I was originally planning on going to the SS office once our marriage license arrives and trying to get a SSN there - i've read there are varying experiences with if they issue you one in your maiden name or married name etc (downtown Brooklyn if anyone has experience there). Now i see on the i-765 there is an option to apply for one through the form and am unsure which option to take.

Our marriage license should be arriving this week and ideally I'd like to get a SSN ASAP to be able to open bank accounts etc. Should I fill out yes on the i-765 and still go to the office? I'm not sure if there will be any issues if I receive a SSN before the i-765 gets processed and if they'd issue two SSN that would create problems in the future.

    thanks

Nothing to worry about. It's been our experience that USCIS is not very diligent in keeping applicants informed or updating any websites.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

    Thanks

thank you... i wasn't sure if the message on the old site was the standard wording so I became worried with the error message on the new site. I've updated my profile and timeline.

  4. I'm having an issue checking the sites for an update...

on egov.uscis.gov/casestatus am I getting this message: On August 31, 2018, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), Receipt Number WACXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by September 30, 2018, contact the USCIS Contact Center at www.uscis.gov/contactcenter. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

but on my.uscis.gov/account/onboarding/track/new i am getting this error message when trying to input my WAC#: There was an error syncing your case. Try again in a few minutes.

This message has shown since last night.

is this anything i should be worried about? haven't received anything in the mail.

    thanks

  5. Almost ready to send in my K1 but one thing has been bothering me since the beginning.

In some places where it asks for an address, it allows me to X either apt. ste. flr. and fill in the following blank space, but it most places I can X one of the options but acrobat will not allow me to fill in the following blank space to fill in the apt #.

To counteract this I have been putting in the apartment # following the address such as 123 Main St. #2L. Now in my final steps I don't know if I should do this or check the appropriate box and fill in the apartment number by hand.

    thanks

  6. Hi Everyone

American here with a Danish fiance, very close to having my 129f completed and have a few questions.

    1. I should use the americanized spellings of danish words and names except in the Beneficiary's name and address in their alphabet part, correct?

    2. When listing Danish addresses (outside of the native alphabet part) should i use the Americanized # Streetname Apt # or the Danish Streetname # Apt #? (123 Main Street Apt 3 vs Main Street 123 Apt 3).

And for province, is this left blank? My fiance is not sure if Region Hovedstaden would count as her province for the purposes of this form ( she lives in Copenhagen)

    3. Do all documents need to be translated? I've included an Oresunstag train ticket from Copenhagen to Sweden as part of my proof of having met within the past two years. It's in swedish - do i need to have this translated? I have plenty other evidence of having met so if this needs to be translated or if there is risk of a RFE I'd rather just not use it.

    4. Should I list the Embassy in stockholm for this question

Your beneficiary will apply for a visa abroad at the U.S.

    Embassy or U.S. Consulate at:

    thank you
