  1. Hello everyone. It has been a while. First i would like to say thank you to whomever created this thread. This thread has helped me tremendously throughout my K1 visa process. Just a little update. My Fiance visa was approved back in March. He came to the state on April 6th. We got married April 15th. We sent the AOS application on April 22nd. We got our interview on October 3rd and He received his green card on October 9th. The AOS process took almost 6 months. We applied for the work permit, but never received it.

For those of you who are going through this process i just want to say hang in there. It can be very stressful, but the end result worth it. I know things might not look too good with the way things are going in Haiti, but remain focused. This shall pass. I hope everyone gets to experience the same feeling my feelings are experiencing right now. Once again thanks to everyone in this thread for their words of encouragement and the guidance.

For those of you who have been following my Visa Journey, keeping me in your prayers, & offering me words of encouragement; I just want to say THANK YOU. Especially the Haitian K1 Visa thread. I finally got the chance to see this wonderful update this morning:

My struggles with my visa journey are available to you in my previous posts on my page, but I would like to update everyone on how it concluded to issued.

After following up with my congressperson around mid March to make a 2nd congressional inquiry, the embassy responded in 2 days and informed the congress to tell my fiancé to complete a new medical. The embassy let us know that they will be sending him another 221g along with his passport in order to complete the new medical and for him to send everything back through DHL when completed. This was on March 20th, it took my fiancé about a week and a half to complete his medical and send everything in. Embassy received it on April 2nd and updated my case on the 2nd, the 11th and the 18th is when my visa case status finally went from immigrant visa to non-immigrant visa. This morning it changed to issued. I am

    so grateful and crying tears of joy because I finally get to be reunited with my loved one and this part of my visajourney is finally done! Now to worry about POE and AOS! At least my fiancé and I can do that together. Here is an quick recap of my time line;

9/19/2018- Interview went well but placed on AP due to embassy wanting to verify/confirm divorce info. I sent email asking them what do they need, if anything.

9/20/2018- Embassy replied to my email asking for “submit confirmation of divorce to the national archives”. Didn’t really know what this meant since we provided them with our national archive divorce forms already, but we gathered the judgement of divorce and the newspaper announcement (customary of Haiti) of his divorce from his divorce lawyer since that’s all we have left to possibly give them to confirm the divorce.

10/9/2018- Additional divorce documents & passport sent through DHL

    10/11/2018- Embassy received docs/passport.

11/5/2018- my case had updated about 4-5 times in between these dates. 2 of the updates due to emails I sent the embassy and them responding. The date of the 5th is the last time the embassy ever updated my case up until I reached out to my congressman a month later.

12/5/2018- reached out to my congressman and they made a congressional inquiry.

01/04/2019 (Took a whole month!)- Embassy replies to congressional inquiry stating case documents are under review & due to security situations in Haiti they can’t give an estimated date of completion. Congressman tells me to follow up on or around March 20th. 60 more days! 😩

03/18/2019- Followed up with congressional inquiry

03/20/2019- embassy replies asking for new medical

04/02/2019- new medical received by embassy

04/18/2019- Visa status went from immigrant to non immigrant with new case creation date

    04/22/2019- Visa Issued!

It took me 7 months in AP from interview date to finally receive my visa.

I started this visa journey 2 years ago on December 29th, 2017 when I sent my K1 packet in to USCIS. I know we have a long way to go still but I’m so happy we’ve finally concluded this part of my journey. Thank you lord! 👏🏿🙏🏿🤗

I am so Happy for you 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. I am glad you finally got through this tough time. God is able.

I think they need one from where you live and recent.  In the other hand they didn't have ask my fiance for his. I know it's not easy to get one in Haiti. Last time i heard the machine broke.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I’m def going to share this information with my fiancé and see if he’s willing to give it a try. He thinks he won’t even be able to get into the embassy at all when I bought this up to him a while back since he already had his interview. I’m willing to try anything at this point, especially since we have a 2 & half month old son that he’s dying to physically meet 😫. I hope something changes for us soon, but I’m going to exhaust all avenues. I just want this part of our lives to be over! It’s so frustrating, yet we’re trying to remain positive. Thanks again.

@gsdc23 it wouldn't hurt to try. Like @Juliette2784 stated there many people there with different situations and they were able to talk to someone. I will advise to try and see.

That’s awesome! All this good news is wonderful! Was it super packed when he went?

In my case I wonder how AP works in situations like this since it seems as though they sent almost all of the CO’s back home to the states. Especially since it’s only one CO conducting interviews. 😫 I wish they would at least provide updates it’s so crazy that people have to go to them in order to figure out what’s happening with their interviews/visa case.

My fiance was there from 7 until 1. They have only one consulate there. There were few people there. They took care of those who had appointment that day first then decided how many extra people they can see. Thank goodness there were able to see the ones who didn't have appointment and my fiance was one of them.

  9. Hello everyone, i would like to thank @Juliette2784 abd and her fiance who took it upon themselves to go to the embassy personally to check on the update of those who hot cancelled during protest. It is eith6a great pleasure to let y'all know my fiance went this morning after waiting all day, they did the interview with him. Everything is done and just have to go pick up his passport.

    Questions asked:

    My age

    My children's name and age

    When we first met.

The only documents they asked from him was the medical and my divorce paper.

Thank you so much to everyone for all the great info and support.

My fiance said there were only one consulate to do everyone interview that's why it's so backed up. If you were cancelled and willing to go there to see if they can do your interview keep in mind you might be there all day.  My fiance went at 7 didn't get see the consulate until 12 something.

So the embassy is opened and my interview was this morning at 7:00am. Everything went well. Questions asked was: name, DOB, address, phone number, transfer receipts and pictures, how many times we see each other. So guys if you are in a real relationship don’t freak out, just make sure you do your homework with your fiancée in Haiti; like where you work, your address, your salary, where you first met and how many time you travel to see each other, family info specially if there are children etc..

Congratulations after a quaotic week finally some good news.
