I'm so upset! We still havent had our AOS in person interview rescheduled. When we had our interview back in March, the interviewer was so rude and my husband couldn't understand her because she was speaking so fast. He asked her to slow down and she didn't. She got frustrated and just ended our interviewing saying he needs to come back with a translator. She wouldn't let me translate for him. She also said she would reschedule the interview but she never did! And we can't go online an request another appointment for the Chicago office! We waited a year for that interview!!!!

Now we've asked for a case update, we've called USCIS and told them for send us another interview appointment. We've even send a letter to the NYC office asking if we can transfer our case there since we will be moving later this year. No response! His work and travel parole expires in 3 months and he has to work to support our family! THIS SUCKS!

Has anyone gotten their green card from K1 yet? I honestly think it is going to take 2-3 years to finish this. We're already 14 months in!

If it’s been more than 60 days, you should make an infopass appointment!

  3. We had our interview in Vegas Wednesday, April 10th. Our priority date was March 13, 2018. Interview went well, didn’t really ask any weird questions, just went over the information in the 485 form, asked him all of those questions, and then asked us to tell her our love story. Very conversational! We did not get approved on the spot because the officer didn’t want to take my proof of birth certificate (petitioner) and told me she would be sending me a request for a different one. We received the RFE letter in the mail that Saturday, 4/13 and sent it right back to them. Now we’re waiting for a response! The mail said they delivered it Tuesday so we’ll see how it takes for the officer to receive it and review it. We hope to be done with this process soon!

I suppose that when you get your interview we will have to wait another SIX months!
Can't believe we actually pay for this service!

Right!!! If anything this whole process has thought us PATIENCE!!

Yeah everything is delayed. You can check my timeline. My priority date was 10-24-2016 and my interview was on 7-31-2017. My status on USCIS never changed to  “Ready to be scheduled...” I didn’t get an update after the first update and work permit approval until my case was scheduled. I know few people who went through AOS and some for naturalization and for both it was around 12 months.

Hopefully that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much!! Are you now doing the removal of conditions?

Yeah it has been taking AOS about 10 months to a year in Las Vegas to get processed. It is also taking about that time for naturalization. I am not sure about the removal of conditions though.

The delay is so crazy!!! I’m hoping we hear something soon! I wish there were more people from Vegas here that update their timeline so that it gives us a better idea!!

That leads me to ask if anyone is from Las Vegas? :)

I’m from Las Vegas. PD March 2018... still waiting for AOS interview. My husband got his work permit in August but before that we receive a letter that case is ready to be scheduled for an interview in June... we’ve been waiting patiently (trying to anyway) but so far no word! Las Vegas Office is SUPER SLOW!!!

    Hello,

My current EAD card is about to expire in a few weeks. I applied to renew my EAD card back in August, but my new card hasn't arrived yet. I applied as a category C9, so I believe I am allowed a 180 day extension. However, I am having trouble explaining this to Human Resources where I work. I am worried that they don't understand how this extension works and that they won't allow me to work there after my card expires. Does anybody else have any experience with this? How did you get your employers to understand you are allowed an extension?

I showed them the receipt I received after I sent away for my first EAD, which explains the 180 day extension for C9's and also the Notice of Action I received after I applied to renew my card which shows that they received it back in August. Not sure if there is anything else I can show them to help my case?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello,

im a human resource manager and what we ask employees is a copy of the notice of action letter that states that the 180 day extension has been granted pending renewal approval and a copy of the expired EAD card. With that, we allow our employees to keep working. This only applies to some categories such as C9 so please make sure your action letter says that.

Thank you! I was actually quite shocked by how quickly the response was. San Antonio seems to be pretty fast and my visit for biometrics let me know the office itself isn't very busy so they have lots of time for scheduling.

When we went for biometrics the office here in Vegas didn’t seem that busy either... so I have no idea what is taking so long! USCIS website says it’s taking 14 to 24 months!
