Hi Vj Members, Thank you very much for the support here and helping. Alhamdulillah I got my CR1 visa today. It was a super busy day. I got a call today at 10 am from US embassy saying that your visa is ready and if you can fly before July 2nd (as my medical will expire on July 2nd). I asked him to give me 1/2 hours to discuss this with my family and cutting the long story short I confirmed him that lets do it and I will fly before 2nd July. I got a call again from same person around 4:15 pm to collect it from American Express Office. Alhamdulliah I collected my passport at 5 pm from the American express office.
InshAllah I am flying with my wife on July 1st and will reach there on July 1st
Here are few important dates:
Filed my case in Feb, 2018
Got interviewed in Jan, 2019
There were few updates after the interview but everytime it was on AP.
I wish you all the best in your journey and hopefully everyone will be with their spouse soon.

I am hopeful that I will get my passport by the end of today or tomorrow.
lets see how things go

Hi VJ members, I just got a call from ISB embassy that my visa is ready and if I can fly before 2 July (Tuesday) as my medical will expire on Tuesday. I told that guy to let me discuss this thing with my family and if you can call me in 1 hour. Is this something happened to anyone else here before and did you get a call back from embassy.
Please let me know.
Thanks

I had an interview on Jan 17th, 2019 and same happened with me. The interviewer said you will get you passport after 1 month and gave me this white paper 221g with nothing to submit. I asked her about what to do with this paper she said just keep it with you. Its been almost 5.5 months and I didn't hear anything back except few updates after inquiry. They didn't ask me any questions in email (DS 535). So, no idea about how much time it will take but it is in AP. My visa is CR1.

Yes, you can. My wife was with me at the time of interview. We went to the counter and the VO asked her to sit and continued the interview with me.

I got the following response from embassy:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for writing to our office. Your immigrant visa case is refused for administrative processing, an integral part of the visa adjudication and issuance process that can neither be neither expedited nor waived. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict the amount of time the processing will take and timing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case.
Please be assured that we are aware of your concerns and will process the application to completion as quickly as possible, in accordance with U.S. laws. We recognize that this process can be frustrating for applicants and regret any inconvenience. The visa application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete.
Sincerely,
Immigrant Visa Unit,
Consular Section,
U.S. Embassy, Islamabad
MAF
Any expert opinion?
Thanks

Hello Everyone,
For CR1 my case got updated 4th time (April 12th, 2019). I inquired them on Wednesday (April 10th). This is the 2nd time I sent them an email, first the time I send them was on March 11 and they updated my case the same day.
Now I am bit confused as this update is because of my email or they did it themself?
Also I got interviewed on January 17th, 2019.
I read in few threads that after 4/5 updates your visa get issued. Any idea will I be getting visa issued on next update or anything else. They didn't send me any email in response to my query
I really appreciate your help. Thanks

it will be 19 months in AP for us soon! No one really knows the timeframe for AP which sucks sooooooo bad
OMG--- Allah Kareem. Have you got DS5535 and if yes then after how much time of interview you got DS5535?

I know a lot of people who got called for a second interview and they require a fresh Affidavit of support.
ohhh--and is it possible if my Father in Law will be my sponsor and attach an Affidavit of support from him instead of my wife's AOS?

That's how I see it too. If the AP takes a long time, they may ask for a new affidavit of support, but sounds like they have that contingency covered.
Exactly this is also my concern as I read some posts that those who got DS535 and then the embassy called them for the 2nd interview. So, I think they might be asking for the sponsor again. Has anyone been through this situation?

Hi VJ members,
I got interviewed on January 17th, 2019 the officer told us that I will be getting my passport in a month but we didn't hear anything back as it's been almost 2 months. They are radio silent with only 3 updates on my case (1 is due to the fact that I sent an inqury but they haven't replied yet).
Now, I am calling my wife to Pakistan soon and she will be living here until we will be moving together. I want to know once she will come to Pakistan, and if the process will take forever then after how much time the embassy will be needing her W2 and taxes information. As there will be no tax history once she will quit her job and come to Pakistan.
My Father-in-Law will be sponsoring us then. So, is it a wise decision.
Also, are there any other factors that we should consider besides sponsor?
-
@Ahmed&Freda the embassy will reply through email or they will not reply as I didn't hear anything back yet expect the update in the case date. Thanks
-
@Ahmed&Freda So, I just checked and my case got updated, last it was on Jan 31st. The status is still in AP.
Its the 3rd time my case got updated. So, are there any chances.
Your expert opinion is highly appreciated
Thanks

Thank you --I generated a ticket through this website. I am hopeful that they will reply to me. The problem was that we can only write 140 words in the message.

I got interviewed in Islamabad Embassy on Jan 17th, 2019 (Immigrant Visa---CR1) and the CO said you will get your passport in 1 month time and gave me white paper 221(g) and didn't ask me to submit anything and to just keep that form with me. In the meanwhile, my case got updated twice and last was on Jan 31st.
So, I emailed the embassy on March 6th at support@ustraveldocs.com to inquire about my status as its been 1.5 months and after 20 minutes I got this reply:
Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk.
For us to further assist you, Kindly confirm if you received a 221-G letter and please provide us with the following details below:
Date of Birth:
Visa Type:
Visa Class:
Interview Date:
Last date of Submission of Additional Document:
For further information you may refer to the link below.I replied to them with the details and telling them that no additional documents were required. After 30 minutes they send me this:
Origin: Email Case Reason: Case Update Islamabad Embassy Public Response: Dear Applicant,
Thank you for writing US Visa Service Desk.
Please be informed that your visa application is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of your visa interview or the submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later. When additional administrative processing is required, the length of processing time will vary based on the circumstances of each case.
Please be assured that once the processing is completed or if the Embassy needs further information, you will be intimated about the same.
Alternatively, please follow the link: https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/ to check the status of your case, by selecting “Check my Visa Application Status” under “Non-Immigrant"" or ""Immigrant"".

Sincerely,
US Visa Service Desk. Now I am confused about what to do like my case didn't update after inquiring from them as I saw most of the people here have written that after they emailed, their case got updated.
Also, the email address is correct or there is any other email id?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks

Same story. I had an interview on Jan 17th (spouse visa) and CO told me that you will get a visa in 1 month. It's been 1.5 months and I got nothing except 2 updates and the last update was on 27th Jan. Also, I emailed them yesterday but heard nothing yet.
Just stay hopeful and wait

Hello guys, Hope you all are doing good and some will be happy to see the visa issued and some in the queue. May all the pending visas be issued soon.
I got interviewed on Jan 17th, 2019 and the interviewer asked me 6/7 questions and gave me this white paper with a tick mark on section 221 (g). She returned me everything and kept my passport and didn't ask me to submit anything and said that you cannot go with your wife rn but you will get your passport after 1 month (my wife also went with me). The status on my application changed to AP on 18th Jan and now it got updated on 23rd Jan but still, it's in AP.
Any idea how much time it will take and is it normal that they give you the white paper and don't ask to submit anything.
Please help--Thank you
So, my case got update today again for the 2nd time after 1 week and it still says AP. Any idea what's happening?
Thanks -

I had an interview on January 17th and got the same form with a tick mark on 221(g). The CO told me that you will get your passport in 1 month time. My case got updated on January 23rd and Still waiting.
If the CO said that your visa is approved then she should not have given you this form. -

yes many applicants are in the same situation like you .. you can go to the embassy and ask them directly because I saw 3 applicants in the embassy of Tunisia who were delayed for no reasons and they called the embassy without any answers so they just went there and they had their visas the same day
@LAMISThank you for writing. I think the cases in Pakistan are totally different from Tunisia. Here we cannot go directly to the embassy and I don't think the people here are cooperative or they will tell me anything, They will just say that write an email or check your status online.
Pakistani's what do you think can we go to the embassy and inquire like this??
