My husband got an email from USCIS to the service request we submitted last week, since it had been over 60 days since we submitted our RFE response. The email from USCIS said, in so many words, “F--- off, keep waiting.” More specifically, it said they’re still working on the case and we’ll get a response once they’ve made a decision.

On my husband’s MyUSCIS account, it looks like still no one has even looked at the RFE response since we submitted it in January.

It basically feels like USCIS has abandoned us!

But FWIW, we recently decided that we’re not going to do anything to follow up on the I-485 until August. In late August, it’ll be our two year anniversary, and at this point, we feel it’s preferable to just wait ~4 more months to get a 10-year green card. Considering we’ve been going through immigration processes for almost 3 years, it would be a relief not to have to deal with USCIS for another 10 years.

SF processing time seems to be 22.5 for 80% of the cases. It is quite possible that your case gets approved by August.

Same here I 130 approved but I 485 status under being reviewed from intial review did u get rfe for medical test (I 693 deficiency notice), or is it still being reviewed??

As of yesterday, no RFE has been issued yet. I expect that they will issue an RFE for medical although I sent the I693 but that would have been deemed "expired" by them. I did live agent chat on Emma and they told me yesterday that the interview waiver had been removed. So they will schedule an interview for the case. The case is with the local office and the processing time is 21 months. So the interview call has to come before June, I guess if they want to honor their own 21 months time-frame.

  3. got a text today that something happened to my I485 app. I checked it and it has gone from active voice to passive voice for "reviewing" to "being reviewed". Then I checked the I-130 on the whim which was also changed to being reviewed with the date updated to today. But in the documents tab, the approval notice for I-130 was already present. USCIS also sent me a status email which mentioned that the status for I485 was in "Initial Review". But right now I485 is at "being reviewed" in the online portal. I am guessing that the next step would be an rfe for the medical test since the old ones sent are already more than a year old.

Parents I-30 remains pending. My mom's I-485 keeps getting RFE due to the medical portion. USCIS has already extended the validity period for the I-693, but they keep screwing up. My mom has already forked thousands on multiple Civil surgeon exams. I'm at my wits end. 😞

my mother's i130 is stuck at Vermont Service Center. I485 is stuck at NBC. It's not even forwarded to the Field Office. I130 normal processing time window will be closing in May so I hope to raise an inquiry afterwards.

Curious what happens after i-130 approval.

Filed while in Minneapolis, then moved to Seattle.

    Filed - Sept. 16, 2021

    NOA1 - Sept. 20, 2021

    Biometrics - Jan. 31, 2022

EAD Expedited request initiated - March 22, 2022

EAD Expedited request decision - May 5, 2022

    EAD/AP - May 5, 2022 (227 W/225 days since NOA1)

    I-130 Approved - Feb 9, 2023

I have seen people seeing their I485 getting approved next within 20 days.

Omg!! I-485 status got changed to approved literally a minute ago. Im over the moon...

    great news! congratulations!

  6. Thanks.

Today, I talked to an agent via Emma and I found out that the interview had been waived since November 2021! However, the i485 file is still at NBC and hasn't been transferred to local field office. This is bizarre. The only reason I can think of this situation is because they rejected the first finger print and we had to go through a second fingerprinting. This could have thrown off the I485 app from its normal line of processing into some other pile on the side.

Sooo. I just got a notification today my interview was scheduled. We filed September 1st, 2021. I am happy but also panicking because we have like no paperwork to show at the interview. We just filed our taxes but we won’t have the return in time. We also don’t have rent/utility bills because the “landlord” is his dad and there is only a verbal agreement. Yeah. 6 months wait time. New York. I thought I’d be waiting for at least another half year.

You can try to collect some of these things:

    1) Get a will and power of attorney made

    2) Open joint bank account and/or credit card

    3) phone bills with logs showing you calling/texting each other

    4) screenshots of text messages from various dates covering the entire marriage

    5) boarding pass or itinerary print outs taken together in the past

    6) any xmas/wedding invites or cards sent to  you and your spouse

    7) photos with clear dates on them covering the entire time-period. group photos with others are much more important

😎 any gift receipts from presents between you and your spouse

We are lucky that we received a simple and easy to arrange RFIE.

    Happy for you.

    1. I was wondering if they can issue RFIE again?

What is the probability? i.e. 50%, 20% etc.

    2. Roughly, how long does it take from RFIE to the Interview stage?

1: I think it is certainly possible for them to issue another RFE. My guess is that the officer that reviewed the I130 is done with issuing RFEs since he/she would have included any and all other deficiencies that needed "evidence" from me. However, I am not sure if the same person is also looking at the rest of the forms connected with the I485 application. My guess is that there is a different person looking at I485 related material because the RFE for I130 transpired while we were waiting for the second Biometrics appointment (which is related to I765 and I485). So if this was a serial process these two things would not have occurred at the same time.

2: Ten years back, I remember RFE's would yield a decision for certain applications within three weeks of submission. I am not sure what the situation looks like these days.

    gamma50g: thanks.
