Thank you so much for replying! 🙏
I am checking the USCIS page which keeps changing estimated waiting time. It's now been on three months for a few days.
Forgive me for asking, what does FO stand for?FO= Field Office. It’s where you’ll do your interview

Ohmygosh I forgot to ask an important question.
To all:
When you receive notice about your interview appointment, is it via email, text, phone call, or written mail? And how soon after you receive notice is your interview typically?
Congrats to all who have been through it and out the other side already. WOW!
I applied online on October 30th. Their site is now saying 4 months to wait.In my case I was following via app (Case Tracker), so I first got the notification there. Then I logged on USCIS, documents tab and saw the details for the interview and finally got the letter in the mail only a couple of weeks after that.
The interview was scheduled on Dec 26,2023 for Feb 02,2024 - so roughly 5 weeks out.
I would not rely on the estimated time for decision showing on the site. That’s just an estimate of processing time for your FO (mine showed 5 months up until the day of the interview/oath ceremony)- stillbaffled and OldUser

I passed my interview today in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Super smooth experience, got there, checked in and was called by the officer about 15 min later. She was friendly and it felt more like a conversation than an actual interview. She started with reviewing my form and corrected some info at my request (I traveled overseas during the Holidays). No vocabulary/ definition questions asked. Then we moved on to the civics questions and the reading/writing portion. I was asked to review the Oath of Allegiance and sign that I was willing to take it. Then I was told I passed the interview and that they were having an oath ceremony in about 1hr so I could be part of it, if I wanted. The ceremony itself was about 25min.
All in all, I was in the FO for about 3hr and left as a citizen! As others said, the naturalization has been the smoothest and fastest process in my journey immigration: from form submission to oath ceremony it was exactly 107 days.
Good luck to all!- Meg101, Ricky+Vanessa and stillbaffled

Hey guys,
Is there anyone here who has received IL now in November for interviews taking place either in Canada (Montreal) or Brazil (Rio)? If so, can you please share PD and Case Complete date?
Thanks!

Montreal Embassy
Got the IL on Friday Oct 6.
Question for people going to Montreal Embassy:
Based on this website, I should get a Name Check Based police certificate. Is that what you plan on doing or have done as well?

Hey mfh,
is your PD Aug 22, 2016 and you already got your IL for Montreal? When was your case complete with the NVC?
My PD is May 25, 2016 and I am still waiting for my IL for Montreal.
Thanks!

Hi Tash, I'm with Montreal as well and behind you. Looks like they haven't done May yet, such a backlog. In your (or someone else) another post, you mentioned that March PD was fine in Montreal. So from Mach to August, they haven't finished PD that between March and May??
Montreal ever ranked the most corrupt city in Canada, there is atmosphere that agents don't do what they should do...
I don't see calling NVC is useful in this case, NVC may already sent IL to Montreal, but it maybe stuck in Montreal. Should we contact Montreal embassy directly?
Hi f2a_ca,
I am also waiting for the interview letter in Montreal. My PD is May 25, 2016.
I have contacted the consulate directly through email (montreal-iv-dv@state.gov), and it wasn’t useful - they answered saying that they send the NVC the dates/times slots available for appointments and the NVC is responsible for managing the waiting line and scheduling the interviews. If the NVC has not scheduled your interview yet, then the consulate does not have your case yet.

I know one person got scheduled for 21 August and he had approved expedite request. We don't know that how many ppl are waiting before us so we cannot be certain that we will get IL for August or September.
Hi Ruban,
this person that got the expedite request - what was their PD? and when did they receive the Interview letter?
Does anyone know if the interviews for august were scheduled in Montreal yet?

As long as NVC confirm that your case is completed, that is okay. The status "AT NVC" means your case is being processed by NVC now. There is no "case completed" status showing online, so don't worry.
After you receive the interview letter, 2 weeks before the interview, it will change to "IN TRANSIT" which mean your case and documents are being delivered to the Consular in your country.
When it shows "READY", it means the Consular received your documents. However, you should bring all the documents (originals + copies) to the interview although you sent them to the NVC before, because the Consular Officer will check them again.
After the interview, the status will be changed to "Administration Processing".
When it shows "Issued", your visa is printed and being delivered to your address, so you can buy the ticket and be ready to go to the US.
thanks @Triple28!!

When I go to ceac it says AT NVC but when I go to sign in where I paid my fees thats where i see the message complete. @L&G3112
yes, same here:
On the applicant information:
IV Fee - Paid
IV Application - Complete
Civil Documents - Accepted
But I'm reading of people that have received a confirmation email from the NVC literally stating that the case is complete, so I got confused.
-
@tash1111, I'm seeing a lot of people saying that they have received emails stating that their processing was complete, and their case status changed to "Case Complete" - maybe for Montreal it is different?
Please let us know how your call goes with the NVC tomorrow.
thanks!

Hey Ruban,
Nothing here. I have called the NVC yesterday and they told me that my case is complete, but still waiting on the US Embassy in Montreal to let them know what are the dates available for August.
When you check your case status on CEAC'S website what does it say? Mine says "At NVC", even though they tell me the processing is complete. What about yours?

My pd is May 24, 2016. Also waiting 😥
When I call NVC they keep saying that no spot is available at Montreal embassy for your interview.
We're in the same situation! We've contacted the NVC on May 16th and they told us that the processing was complete, but now we need to wait for an interview date to become available. And since then, no new updates. Hopefully we'll hear from them by the end of June.
For what I see, the US Consulate in Montreal is seriously backlogged.

My PD is May 25th 2016, also waiting for interview to be scheduled in Montreal. Are you calling the NVC or the embassy in Mtl?

I don’t think there’s an official one. I used this one: https://usciscasetracker.com/ which is free and doesn’t require you to logon with your USCIS account info.
I also used Lawfully in the beginning and found their stats helpful (only switched to case tracker once the free trial period for Lawfully ended 😊)
