Praise God, we're approved! (and no false denial jokes) She's going to spend a little more time in Tokyo and back home, and then she's leaving on a jet plane!

Congratulations! Here's hoping for a quick turnaround and trip to the US. Praise God indeed for a smooth process! 🙌
After rescheduling we're still on target for a May 28 interview. I just got back from a 2.5 week trip to Japan to help the wife prepare for the interview and assemble the documents she'll need to bring. It's hard to believe a month from now this part of our visa journey could be over!

Hubby just call and played a huge joke on me saying he was rejected, then I started crying he said Nono love I’m just playing a joke “I was approved “ I told him not funny I’m gonna kill you when you get off the plane.😂😂 visa pick up on Tuesday. I’m so thankful to God.🙏🏽

cculbertson81 got a reaction from Naes in All Japan Filers
As far as I am aware, the police records for Japan are nation-wide, so you only need to obtain one from your current prefecture. Once obtained, the certificate is valid for one year. You will need to bring your passport, residence card, and an official document demonstrating your need for the police certificate such as your NOA2 letter or instructions from the NVC or consulate.

I can't speak to the specifics on the process of updating your address, but I do know that you are required to update it when moving. As long as your registered address and residence card are current you should be OK.

And today we got our interview letter via email! Only 8 days for them to schedule the interview, very quick! Our date is tentatively on May 13, but we may try to reschedule for a week or so later because the medical exam isn't until April 23 and we may not get the results by the scheduled interview date because of the golden week holiday. Progress is progress though!

Just got notice from the NVC that we are "Documentarily Qualified" which I assume means case complete! That makes a total of twelve days from the final civil document submission. Now we wait for the interview letter as well.

From your timeline, your case should have arrived US Embassy in Seoul, and I heard it only took a few days to schedule the interview in South Korea. Why not let her go back now and arrange her K1 visa intervew asap. She might get her visa before your friend's wedding.

We just submitted the last of our IV documents on 3/31, so barring any issues hopefully we should have our case complete in the next week or so, too!

cculbertson81 reacted to USS_Voyager in Tax return
Yes, problem. You cannot file single if you’re married. He doesn’t have to have a SSN to file with you. He can get a tax ID. There are multiple posts in the forum explaining how to do that.

* Moved from K-1 P&P to AOS from K-1 *
Simplest option is to send a tax transcript: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
You can register, download, and print that fine (no need for a mailed copy).
Option 2 is to send the 1040 + all W-2s/1099s/other income schedules.
