Hello,
I recently applied for my removal of conditions for permanent residence and sent a biometrics fee for that application. Do I have to send another biometrics fee for filing for citizenship as well? When I sent the fee for the permanent residence biometrics, they said they just reused my old fingerprints and kept the money. Which stinks. But do I have to send it again?

If you did not leave F-1 status until age 27 then that is your answer.
Now you have to provide evidence that you had a lawful non immigrant status through age 26. Do you have the F-1 visa and entry stamps? Do you the I-94s? Do you have evidence of attending school in the USA through age 26?
Yes I do. I am going to be hunting for the I-20s in the morning though. Luckily most of my stuff is on the computer from when I applied for Permanent resident after getting married. Phew. Just gotta hunt it all down again! Let the fun begin! Thanks again for your help!

You can answer that you thought USCIS would register you as per what the I-485 said. Or you can answer that you were not aware you were required to register.
Every male age 17 to 26 (minus 1 day) is permitted to register. Except for those with lawful nonimmigrant status, every male in the USA aged 18 to 26 minus 1 day is required to register. Most people who file I-485, if not at time of filling, will eventually fall out of lawful non immigrant status even those the I-485 filing creates a lawful presence. So once your non immigrant status ended, you were required to register if the status ended before you reached age 26.
You will need to also get a status information letter ( follow process at https://www.sss.gov/verify/sil/ ).
If you aren’t yet are 31, then you will have to wait until then. However you should Friday call SSS to verify that you weren’t registered. Sometimes USCIS does register I-485 applicants but the record is not tried to the SSN (perhaps because the applicant had no SSN or didn’t provide one in the I-485).
Ok. I was on an F1 visa until I was 27 years old

Hello, I hope everyone is well.
One of the questions on the N400 application asks about "Why did you not register with the Selective Service?" In all honesty, I did not even know I was allowed to register for Selective Service and thought I had to be a citizen to do that... Did everyone that is male here already register for selective service? And if not, did this affect your application? How to resolve this?
Thank you for your time!

I'd do it online: faster, cheaper, less stressful.
Do you have to pay the biometrics fee again? And is there a way to state that we are also waiting on the "Removal of Conditions". Thank you!

Hello all, also an April filer, are we available to apply for citizenship online? Or do most people recommend to do it through the mail like any other application? I believe our window is opened/opening soon. And I did notice that you can apply online, but I was not sure if that was recommended or not. Thanks for the help!

You got an 18m ext on 4/30 then a 24m in Nov?😳
Correct, maybe it is going to take them a little longer to get us the GC. Not sure.

I just got my 24 month extension as well today. We resubmitted our case on April 8 and received our NOA on April 30th. I was looking through March and it seems like some people are getting their cards produced already! Good luck everyone!!!

Good Day! I hope all are well. So recently my husband and I were able to buy our first house. We will be moving across country to another state and currently do not have jobs there but do have money to sustain ourselves for a little bit. (We are not concerned about finding jobs, we both have degrees and experience and don't think we will have a problem). But, in the mean time, I will leave work next week and he has already left work. Would it be okay to collect unemployment during the moving phases of our journey up until we find a job, or will that show as a big no-no when it comes to our removal of of conditions? Would it also matter when he applies for citizenship next year.
Side question, if we don't finish the permanent resident yet (still in the waiting phases) can he still apply for citizenship next year, I think according to our timelines, he should be at the stage where he can apply for citizenship by then.

Ok, so after the first mistake, (we received a rejection letter because I used the wrong forms... dumb mistake boy oh boy.) But I shipped the correct package out April 8th and got the text message on April 30th!. They also cashed the check. Just waiting for the NOA now. Yay! I can actually get my license with proper documents! Woohoo. haha

If your conditional card hasn't expired yet, might be worth renewing your license at DMV before it does. It probably varies by state but I was given a 5 year license even with my conditional expiring in just 1 year at the time of renewal. Worth a shot!
Thanks for the tip. We will give that a try! Thank you!

Update:
I-797 Notice received in the mail: April 8, 2021
I-797 Notice dated: April 2, 2021
Receipt number begins with MSC
I'm really pleased. I had been expecting this part of the process to take another two weeks.
(Next step: Renew my expired driver's license.)
Ugh, I am so concerned about my license right now! I had my package returned to me, and just shipped it back with corrections today with 1 day shipping. Cutting things WAY TOO CLOSE for me now

I just fixed what needed to be fixed then sent the same exact package back. They just received mine yesterday. So hopefully that was correct
I just shipped mine back now with express shipping. Don't know if that will change anything. But it made me feel better inside knowing it will at least arrive tomorrow haha. Back to the waiting game. ANXIETY!

Hello, can anyone tell me, if they did get the package returned, did you sent the exact same package that they sent back to you, but just included the updated form? Or did you reprint everything and rewrite the check etc?

I take it your package was rejected. You can choose to send it to the address in the letter, or the addresses on the website. Your choice, it's a new filing and will get there no matter which of the addresses you decide to go with.
Thank you very much for the quick response! Much appreciated!

Good Day,
So, long story short I got a notice of action and have to resubmit my package to USCIS after making some corrections. The Form I-797C says that I should mail this package to the address at the bottom of the paper. "USCIS P.O. Box 21200 Phoenix, Arizona 85036. But I saw online that this is only to be used if I am shipping with the USPS. I was planning to do UPS shipping because I heard it was faster. But the UPS address to use is different than the USPS one on the USCIS website. Should I just use UPS to send this new package since they want it shipped to that specific address? What do you guys think? Anyone have any experience related to this?
Thank you!

Yes, that is still the current form. Did you print it out fully? By that I mean make sure your printer scaled the document to the page's printable area so that no parts of the form got cut off. Sometimes when printing a document, if the printer can't print something that is really close to the edge of the page, there is such an option that scales down the document so that everything fits. I've seen someone on this forum have their I751 rejected for this reason.
Actually, I just found out it was an outdated form. Someone else just mentioned the current date is for 12/2/2019 and somehow I have the form from 12/05/2017. idk how that happened. but i am going to fix that real quick!

I just got my package back return with an i-797C Notice of Action - because "the application/petition was filed on an outdated version of this form. Please resubmit your application/petition on the current version of this form with the appropriate feesnto the address listed on the bottom of this page."
Please correct me if I am wrong, I got this form from the i-751 pages under forms and the current date they have on there is for 12/31/2019? I just looked again to make sure and that is the one I am still currently seeing. Please help if anyone has any other information!

Now is April 4th, watching the other timelines from February, it seems like something should HOPEFULLY show up soon!~
Happy Easter and best of luck to everyone!!!!

I-751 APRIL 2021 Filers (Removal of Conditions)
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
It's been almost a year since I got any correspondence from USCIS. But today, I received my Green Card in the mail. My last notice from them was November 2021, which was an extension of 24 months. Didn't have an interview or anything else. Will be applying citizenship when I can. That will be a whole other journey!
