Dang that’s quick! Congrats!! My wife filed June 30th of this year (Tampa) - hoping for a speedy process and this gives me hope 😁

Just got interview scheduled notice for Cleveland office for 06 September 2022. We filed June 16th. Didn't get an email update, so we were quite surprised to find the letter in the mail today!
You filed June of this year or last?

For others’ reference, we filed my wife’s N400 app online on 6/30/22; she just passed the 5 year mark. Received biometrics reuse the same day. Local field office is Tampa, FL. Fingers crossed for speedy processing for all

My wife’s fingerprints from her previous case were approved for her current I-751 case online in May. Today, we just got a letter requesting she show up for biometrics on Nov. 7th 2019. What’s going on here? Very concerned. They also forgot to mail her original extension letter to her so she had to ask for a “second” one, but that was already taken care of. Just seems like things are a little messed up?

My wife just got her Extension Letter yesterday, 5/8. This was only after requesting (twice) that she have the extension letter sent out after they failed to send any receipt of her application from this past January '19. We also requested biometrics at the same time, but her account now says "Fingerprint Review Was Completed", so are we to assume that she does not need biometrics? Also, she has an SRC number, whatever that means (?).

Also, from what I remember, it's best to call when they open first thing (8am) and keep pressing option 1 to get through to an actual person, unless they have an option for booking appointments. Took us about half an hour to find that out after repeated attempts to speak to someone, then half an hour on hold to get through to someone.
Thank you. We were able to call and are awaiting a call-back for an InfoPass appointment to get her expired green card.

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum; I'm really sorry if it's not. Mods, please move it to the correct forum if I made a mistake. Thanks!
My wife filed her I-751 back in January and only just got her Receipt Notice today (May 8th). She got an extension stamp in her passport a couple of months ago at the Tampa USCIS office so she could start college since she didn't have her extension letter at that point. The officer took her green card and told her that when she got her extension letter to come back and see him so he could cancel out the stamp on her passport and give her expired green card back to her. However, we tried making an InfoPass appointment today and the Tampa USCIS office is no longer accepting walk-ins or appointments for InfoPass. We aren't sure what to do at this point. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible that this is only temporary and we will be able to make an appointment soon?
Thanks guys!

Update: we contacted USCIS a month ago about not receiving my wife’s notice of receipt (application was accepted 1/15/19!), and they were meant to respond by today (4/20/19). STILL no response or notice from them! Should we be concerned??? 😞

Am I the only one who is still waiting for an official receipt notice? Petition was received at Nebraska Service Center on January 14, USCIS claim they mailed the receipt but I never received it. I’m signed up for Informed Delivery and still nothing... I filed an e-request for non-delivery, hoping that will help... but I read that they only sent duplicates?
Same for my wife and I (it's her case, though). We also filed an e-request for non-delivery, and also read about the duplicate thing but I didn't think twice about it until you mentioned it...
If they failed to send out / deliver the original, shouldn't they be sending us something comparable to the original, if not another original? This is all so ridiculous smh Sorry to hear you're having troubles with it, too.

Use the USCIS my account case checker instead.
Yes, you should have your NOA1. Please open a service request for non-delivery so they will mail it out. That will be the tangible proof of status once the green card expires (in concert with the physical expired greencard).
Thank you for your help. We sent a service request for the non-delivered receipt.
Even using the account case checker, her case still does not come up.
We are worried that, if USCIS were to send any other notices to us, we would not receive them since they have already failed to deliver a basic receipt of getting the application. Hoping not to miss any appointments... anyone else ever have this problem?

My wife and I filed in January, too, and we still haven’t received a notice of receipt at all. She only received a text message a few days after it was received, and the case number they provided doesn’t show up as valid in the system. While we spoke with an officer at our local office and her case is in the system, should we be concerned that we haven’t gotten the mailed notice / receipt?

Wife and I just applied for removal of conditions (I-751). We just got electronic notice it was received a few nights ago. Haven’t received the extension letter yet, but NEED some proof of lawful residency since her green card expires next month and the school she’s enrolling in this month won’t accept it as proof of residency. Made an infopass apt for the morning - will the extension stamp work for her? Or can we request the official letter there?
-
Thank you all for this information. I will keep the evidence as it is, and then just bind it with fasteners or binder clips.
In addition, does anyone know if highlighting is okay? We have highlighted things like our names and addresses, phone numbers, etc., to make it easier for the officer to locate pertinent pieces of information.

Who said no holes in the side?
I just read that staples, binders, etc., were not allowed (USCIS website), so I assumed no binders meant no 3-hole punches on the sides either ... kinda just panicked I guess lol
So should I just keep the 3-hole punched papers as-is and bind them, or leave them loose? It just looks so unprofessional unbound.
-
I just read that you can’t use a binder when assembling the packet for the I-751 evidence and I don’t know what to do because my wife and I thought it looked professional in a 3-ring binder and now all of our evidence has 3 holes in the side. Can we scan and reprint the existing evidence with the holes in the side or are we screwed?

You know for her to qualify for SSI they will use your credits since she does not have enough of her own. This is something you need to think long and hard on what the impact will be on you.
Ok well there's that what Cyberfx just posted too.
What are credits?

You can certainly try but I really do not see how she can get any kind of disability with only working for 6 months and being a PR.
I did the online screening questionnaire and it said she may be eligible for SSI, not SSDI. But I didn't know if going on benefits would complicate her next case for ROC.

If they are working as a 1099 IC then YES the person will need to be pay taxes. ICs usually pay all those taxes at the end of the year at tax time.
I don't think they would qualify for SSDI and if they do it will be a very small amount.
I know; we filed jointly and I had write-offs that cancelled out whatever she owed, as we received a refund. She only worked 6 months and that was last year; she is unemployed and working on getting her GED right now.

How long have you been here and working? I would think that you wouldn't be able to draw benefits at all depending on how long you have been here.
I am thinking SSDI
Have only worked for 6 months as a contractor; didn't need to pay taxes.
Was looking at SSI...

Quick question: can a conditional (soon-to-be permanent greencard holder) apply for disability benefits if they cannot work for reasons verified by a doctor?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I did not even realize that it went by CSC times, so that's a HUGE relief!

My wife and I are closest to the Tampa field office. How many of you filing in this area - or just in FL in general - can shed some light on how long the process has been taking for you / has taken in total? USCIS field offices seem to be currently processing petitions at a rate of 21.5 - 44.5 months, which is alarming compared to the first process! Just curious if the processing times are any better in Florida / Tampa

Thanks for the replies, guys
