  1. Mi modda would ALWAYS tell mi and mi sis...nuh bodda have sex until you can hangle di responsibility! i would always roll my eyes

but seriously...condoms arent 100%. i was sexually active for a while and it wasnt until last year i went and took my first AIDS test. i dunno why i never took one before...i guess shame or thinking "naw that would never happen to me". but thanks GOD when the result come mi nuh have nuttn. i felt like a huge weight been taken off my shoulder.

honestly..i need to go make Lance take one when I go down...cuz I havent been since October and i trust him with all my heart but...well...like Roxcie said shyt happens

  2. Jawi, I would like to make this clear to all I am not passing judgement on any one, we all must do what we feel is right, and right for me is condoms while my husband and I are in a LDR at all times.

ditto...please nobody take any offense to my opinions

    lawd jeeze..mi figet mi disclaimer!

*THE ABOVE MENTIONED STATEMENTS ARE IN NO WAY JUDGING ANY OF THE MEMBERS HERE, JUST VOICING MY OPINION*

  3. Hey all!

Jawi you brought up a good point. This goes with LDR or not

Me and Lance always strap up. If he doesnt have a condom I send him to buy one at a shop. I don't play when it comes to my sexual health because I do NOT want to end up a statistic. No offense to anyone but I don't believe in the whole pulling out thing. When I was 15 one of my friends got pregnant and she said "but he pulled out!" I learned in health class that the ####### produces pre-ejaculation which contains semen...the exact reason for how my friend got pregnant. I know everyone is different and there is a "whatever floats your boat" ideal that is very popular on the thread but this is just my 2 cents.

  4. Marie, we dont have a carribbean market in my town, only an african guy who has a store called the afro carribbean market, im scared of his stuff though, i bought some curry from him and it looks all old, the jar was all beat up, i think he must be wholesale ing or bringing stuff from New York, to sell. He had alot of products that are more prevalent in the african community, my friend from ghana loves it, but when i was looking for specifics i couldnt really find what i need, and then i was always asking him did he have patties and he said no, so i quit asking, but i checked it is only $15 a day to rent space or $50 a month, to rent space so i figured we might could make a go of it, i also asked him if he was interested in barber school. i know the economic situation is not a good one hence my 90 mile commute daily and so im trying to be proactive.

Ohhh ok. There are places in FL that wholesale JA products to JA stores here but the shipping to Michigan might be too much :(

my friend that works for comcast told me the price are about to go up again :angry:

    its a shame

  5. They are showing Sumfest 08 on the BET jazz channel.

    WHAT CHANNEL I HAVE COMCAST

I have COX. Just found out ATI is July 31-Aug 3 not the following week.

Nelly - it's going off....sure it will come back on.

i dont have that channel as much as pay i should have every channel :angry:

    I'm sayin!

Thanks! I'm browsing hotels. Tryna get something before they're all gone

  6. Ells, im always thinking of ways that me and him can get ahead, because the area where i live isnt a heavily populated JA area. I dont think it is too expensive to rent space and waht i actually figured is each time i got to JA, i purchase items, but maybe if i started purchasing them in large enough quantities, i could have enough to try a start up at the Market and see if its a worthwhile investment. Shoot, every time i go i buy a couple of bottles of appleton but im not a huge drinker so its sitting in my cabinet or i buy a few packets of seasonings here and there, well eventually all that will add up... anyone those are just the wheels in my brain turning, i want to be able to combat the depression, and boredom from setting in when he gets here by having a plan in place.

sounds like a good idea Honey. There are places in the states that sell JA items wholesale

  7. a tru kimmy. some parents send their kids to daycare and dem did deh not learnin a ting! betta if u send dem a one place weh have a learning program..the costs usually work out the same or couple dollas more

and (to all parents) try work with your children at home...don't leave all of the responsibility on the teacher. kids learn in school but it has to be REINFORCED at home

ok i'm coming off my soapbox now

    :ot2:

Jakeswife...that hotel sound exotic. Mi wan go!

  8. I want to try Kindergarten but I know it will be a challenge because some children don't have a preschool background so a lot are more advanced than others

this is exactly why i put kimora in pre-school...preparation for kindergarten..she's now learning to write her name

you made the right choice. she should sail right through kindergarten. some of the K teachers have it so bad...half the class nuh kno dem letta and di other half know how fi write paragraphs

  9. So! marie..u know mi a go call pon yuh now right..heheee...i think kKimora is way intelligent even her Doc thinks..and he is just observing for a bit...the teacher sent home progress report..LANGUAGE needs improvement..i was like kissmiass...if oonuh ever hear kimora speak she sounds 6yrs old..but then again i'm her momma :) an waan category od CHARACTER wat is dat?

 u can call on me. its cool...you should ask her teacher what area of language she needs inprovement cuz its very broad. she might be talking about how she pronounces letters/words or diction, how her sentences are composed, how she describes things or expresses how things are correlated, etc...the list goes on and on.

har teacha need fi specify u zimmi?

  10. Marie what grade do you teach ?

    1st grade :D i luv it!

You gotta love 1st grade, it's the grade in which the child just says anything and everything, they haven't learned to guard their words yet. IF parents only knew, how much of their conversations get repeated.:rofl::rofl:
