KK....I LOVE the Brady Bunch theme song!
Here's the story,
Of a lovely lady,
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls.
All of them had hair of gold,
Like their mother,
The youngest one in curls.
Here's the story,
Of a man named Brady,
Who was busy with three boys of his own.
They were four men,
Living all together, but they were all alone-.
Till the one day when the lady met this fellow,
and they knew they was much more than a hunch.
That this group,
Must somehow form a family.
That's the way we all became the Brady Bunch,
The Brady Bunch- the Brady Bunch
That's the way- we became the Brady Bunch.
When it would come on I would sign it at the top of my lungs

Hi JamericanQueen!
Welcome to VJ and thanks for joining in on the Yaardie thread!
Your I-130 was approved quick!! I've been reading over in the CR1 Thread about fast approvals so looks like a good thing for all of us CR1 filers!
You don't have to wait for the I-129...you can continue with the CR1 if you'd like.
HERE is the NVC Process flowchart so you can get an idea of what will be going on.
To answer your questions:
1. What is this DS-230 you are all talking about and do I have to download them to give to Kingston embassy
The DS-230 is the actual Immigrant Visa Application. There are 2 parts to it and the first part will need to be signed by your husband. * Right now you will be dealing with the NVC until they complete your case and forward it to the Kingston embassy.
2. What is the fee for the DS-230 (not sure if thats the right form name)
The fee for the Visa is $400. You will need to pay this before you send off the DS-230.
3. Now am I filing for the CR1/IR1? what is this
It is the Spousal Visa. At your husband's point of entry into the US, he will be stamped for the CR1 if you have been married for less than two years or the IR1 if you have been married for more than two years.
4. Call NVC and they dont have any knowledge of my case? how long does it take
You can call the NVC at (603) 334-0700
Take some time to review the CR1 Guides. They are a great help.
Also, there are NVC shortcuts that have been made from VJ members:
- James's Shortcuts: LINK
- Loto's Guide: LINK
- LingChe's Shortcuts: LINK
Some people who have used the shortcuts have gotten through the NVC process in less than a month!!!
Marlita started a helpful Yaardie NVC thread as well. You can find it HERE.
Jump in on any convos you'd like. You're in a great place and everyone is here to help

I'm sorry to hear Lovesponge (((HUGS)))
Marie i checked Sandals Ochi, and they have some sort of special going on which bring a wedding and a 7 day stay to 2500.00 dollars but hell when i think hotel, will they allow guest on the property or will they charge everyone 85 bucks for an armband.. now the good thing is the all inclusive option but if im correct sandals doesnt allow children so if i wanted my fam there at least 2 or 3 days they wouldnt be able to stay.. i looked at Shaw Park, dont remember what they quoted..im in the process of trying to make spreadsheet$2500?!?! dem brite!

How much more lavish was it, Tre?
$1650 for 10 and $5,000 for 250 sound like a huge jump to me.
JG...Sometimes it depends.... I had a cousin who spent around $4,000 for a wedding for 200 people. Most of the fees came from the villa she rented. The wedding was held on the grounds of the villa. She bought all of the decorations up here and distributed them amongst family that were going so she wouldn't have too much luggage. She borrowed the tables/chairs from church and my grandmother's pastor officiated. My family in Jamaica did all of the cooking and she reimbursed them for the cost of groceries. It was beautiful! So sometimes it depends on the resources you use

Morning everyone! TGIF!!
Honey...I got married at the RGD and it cost $150 which included the license, minister, and location. I had the option of the indoor setting or the outdoor one but I chose indoor. It was decorated beautifully with an lighted arch that had flowers as well as a backdrop. Me, Lance, and some close friends and family went out for lunch afterwards.
It was a nice, small wedding with the people who mean the most to us. Later on down the road we plan on having something a bit more lavish for our renewal of vows.
$1650 doesn't seem too bad considering they're wedding planners so their fee is included in that price.
Have you tried checking with any hotels in Ochi?

I know how you feel Honey.
Its so hard for me right now. I've been gloomy ever since I got back. We got married Monday morning and Monday night I was on the plane back because I had to go to work. Some days I don't log on VJ because I just want to occupy my mind with other things. I wasn't planning on going back until summer when I am off but July seems so far away.
Well have a great day everyone and stay strong
- Marie
BTW - Thanks MrsHamilton
-
Hmm...Yeah I might try that. But starting tomorrow because I have leftover chicken parmesan that I would love to finish for dinner
-
Congrats Islanddream!!!
Pecky...I'm so happy that he's finally here. Enjoy it girl!
Has anyone heard from Melissa?
-
Hi everyone!
A lot of summer trips being planned. I can't wait to go and eat some fruits!! Mmmmmm
Shem...I heard about that book. How is it going so far? You can ONLY eat those foods? I may need to start that. My goal is to be bikini ready for my vacation this summer
Quana...potatoes are my biggest weakness
-
Wishing you a speedy process!
-
Shanette...have you tried looking on Ebay or amazon.com?
Does anyone know if our SO needs a interview letter to get the shots? Can he just go to a hospital and get one? I wouldn't mind if Lance could get a couple every now and then so he won't have to get so many at one time.
-
Hi HeavenSent! I don't think your age will be a problem. Looks like I'm not the youngest anymore lol. We're the same age
-
Hi Tigress! I bumped the Jamaica and the NVC thread. Its lengthy but has a LOT of great info

Good luck!!

You miss your old familar friends, but
waiting just around the bend.
Everywhere you look (everywhere)
There's a heart (there's a heart)
A hand to hold on to.
Everywhere you look (everywhere)
There's a face of somebody who needs you.
When you're lost out there and your all alone
A light is waiting to carry you home
