  1. Sending your partner a copy of all the information you filed with USCIS will give him/her the opportunity to prepare well for the interview since the consular officer also has the this information in front them. It is a good thing to do. Good luck on the up coming embassy interview. It is better to send the information to your partner and he/she not needing than not sending it and he/she needing the information.

  2. All I am going to say is I expect to see some pictures

And, as you can never say it enough: CONGRATULATIONS :dance::dance:

It is an amazing thing when you can go through USCIS and end up stronger and more in love than when you started. The power in your love truly shows when you get through all this. Sometimes we do not realize that God has a bigger and better plan through the pain and misery of separation.

Having gone through USCIS ups and downs, NVC wait time and including facing embassy CO. It can only strengthen the union provided the relationship is based on the right foundations. Marriage is a lot of work and the benefits are excellent too. If both individuals have agreed and purposed in their heart to make it work it will surely withstand all test and trials. Two heads are better than one!

  3. Sibez, perhaps in the eyes of the CO you probably did not provide sufficient detailed information about your family relationship. Did you capture any family events pictures in which both of you participated such as birthday, wedding / engagements, childbirth celebration? How long have you guys been together and can you provide specific documentation of your on going courtship / relationship from the inception till present. Not just a few documents but a lot of proof to overwhelm CO. It is a big challenge however; it can be overcome. Good luck.

  4. Just saying.... our k-1 visa was granted today. Interview was completed within 10 minutes. CO started interview by asking me to tell her about my partner. Overall, about ten questions were asked. I will provide a full review a little later. Of all the documentations on hand, consular officer only requested, I-134, US tax documents with accompanying w2's. CO went through our picture album and that was it. CO did not request to see any of the followings documents, employment letter, bank statement, emails or any form of communication. Interview experience was gr8.

Most importantly, we want to thank all the little people behind this website and vjers. VJ was instrumental in our success otherwise, it would have been a very difficult process. Thanks.

  5. Hey Fellow May Filers,

My fiance's interview was successful. He got approved yesterday. My journey here is slowing coming to an end. Thank you guys for your support and being there just to listen to me vent! Special Thanks to Zee for holding me together...days before the interview. Girl, you have a heart of gold and you will be blessed. Thank you all!

Congratulations on a successful interview and happy reunion.

  6. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I am new to the forums, its nice to see how many that filed in May already have interviews scheduled and are almost DONE with this process. We are not as lucky as most, having our file go through administrative processing at the NVC and having no reason as to why, or how long the wait will take. I plan to call the NVC again tomorrow to see if it has been sent to Sweden yet, but as of right before the holidays, it was still sitting in Washington. Very frustrating!

I wish everyone the best of luck with this process, it certainly is not easy. Last time I saw my honey was in September and I have no idea when I will be able to see him again. I work, go to school, and have 2 kids, so traveling there is a lot easier said than done, but if we continue to have delays, I will find a way to travel out there to see him.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and New Year!

Jennifer (not-so-patiently waiting for my honey to be back in my arms...)

Can I ask a stupid question? If our case has gone to Washington, is it in administrative REVIEW or PROCESSING? Because I hear REVIEW is A LOT more time consuming and can take months, even years :( Anyone know? Thanks!

    Jennifer

    Jennifer,

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Ours was put on AP when it arrive NVC and was released after about 5 weeks. Based on previous filers that were on AP, the average wait time was about 5 to 6 weeks. Eventually, your petition will be forwarded to the consulate where the beneficiary will be interviewed. Hang in there and compliments of the seasons.

  7. Hi, Im sorry to start a topic during your family festivities but I do need to know how you managed to fill out certain sections when you dont have enough room. Like on the DS-157 pdf. On question 12 it asks the last two jobs that my husband had but it doesnt give you enough room for address so we put country but on the dates, so we were trying to put "1997-2005" but it only allows you to put it in a mm/dd/yyyy format and there is only room for one. How do I solve this? What would be acceptable to the embassy? Im trying to get them all filled out tonight. Thanks

Hi Efia06, you can type see attached in the space for each question and use word document to answer all the questions. Or make sure you are using the most recent released of acrobat. Merry Christmas.

  8. hello to everybody. as usual, the more i read the topics in this forum, the more information i get and for that, i thank everybody. i've been reading topics about what would be considered as evidence to prove that the petitioner and benficiary have met within 2 years before filing the 129f. we sent our application before we discovered and joined this forum so we really never got the chance to see what document/s is/are considered as "substantial" evidence/proof aside from the pictures that we have together. i (the beneficiary) was in the US under a temporary working visa (H1B) when i met my fiancee at work. i've read in the forum that pictures are just considered as secondary evidence. aside from the pictures, we've also included two of our most recent pay stubs (before i left for the philippines) along with the pictures to prove that we worked for the same company and that we have actually met and seen each other. the pay stubs has the company name and address on it as most pay stubs would have. do u think this will serve or be considered as enough evidence that we have actually met before filing the petition? thank you in advance for any replies.

Hi nicole/philip, just as chuck n rose has indicated above, you might get an rfe because pictures are considered secondary evidence. However, if you do get a request for more evidence, your HIB visa will be a good proof that you were in the states and in fact have met each other provided it is within the last two years. You will need to photocopy pages of your passport including the HIB visa and the identification page of your passport along with other supporting evidence to send with the rfe letter. Prayerfully, you won't get any request for more evidence and welcome to vj. Good luck.
