I have one dog and two cats that I would love to bring over to the States when I move, how do I go about this? And what is the rough cost to move your pets?

Just to clarify the above...
You can marry in the US fine. But you must still process the the visa abroad. You can't enter the US with intent to stay in the US.
I don’t intend on staying, I have a house, job and the boys still in Australia so my intentions are to visit, marry and return home while the process happens

No, but they freeze when you file the I-130 for their CR-2. CR-1 is for a spouse, CR-2 for a child. You must petition each child separately.
Oh yes sorry that’s what I meant! So regardless of how long the visa takes the boys ages will remain at 16,13,12 and 10 when we file their CR-2?
Also do you know if generally children get approved at the same time as the filing parent?

My children are currently aged 15,13,12 and 10 my question is ........ do their ages freeze at the age I file for CR-1 ?
My partner and I plan on getting married when I head over to the State this September and start the process, so my eldest will be 16 by then.

I’m just wondering when do I need the written letter of approval from my sons father that they are allowed to move? Do I hand it in with mine and kids CR1 applications? Or at a later date?
-
So my title says it all really lol I’m often reading people are heading over for months at a time? How can they do this? I mean the most I can go over at this stage is 2 weeks because of work etc? Do people just take leave without pay? What about their mortgage/rent etc? I’m just curious as to how people can afford not to work for months?

Then it's about 12 months po from start to finish. There is a Philippines subgroup on here if you have any Philippine specific questions.
Is there someone where I can look up the time frame for Australia?

Hi,
Ive been reading EVERYTHING I can on both the K1 and CR1 and I’m torn between the two.....I love the idea of us getting married but the wait time for the CR1 will be hell....
Would people please give me their opinions on both...good and bad

hi
if he is a US Citizen, each person is filed separately. for you as spouse and one for each child as stepchild
Yes he is, so I can file each case at the same time? I don’t need to have mine approved first

So my partner and I plan on getting married this September when I’m in the States, my question is when I return to Australia and he starts my visa process can he also start the kids as well? Or do they come under mine?
Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated

Fernb,
If you are asked, point-blank, the reason for your visit to the US, and you say you are getting married, be prepared to be questioned thoroughly. Be ready to say you are having a "destination wedding" (great phrase!), and you are returning to Australia while your partner files the I-130. Be ready to show that you have a job (bring a note from your employer, if you have a job), and explain that you have 4 kids to whom you must return. Show your return ticket. Say you know that there is a legal process for all of this, and you are willing and able to do everything above board and legally.
It will be up to you to show that you have ties to Australia that will take you back home.
Best of luck, and Best Wishes!

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely have proof of my ties etc, I hate breaking any type of rule so I will be doing everything correct and above board ☺️

If it was not allowed then destination wedding venues such as Las Vegas and Hawaii would be pissed
Lol I didn’t think of that

Sure, but be truthful about your intentions to border patrol and leave when you are supposed to, then go home and file I-130 paperwork to join your spoyse legally. Current time is 12-14 months.
Just don't come here to get married with the intent of staying. That is clear visa fraud.
No I have no intentions of staying because I have my 4 children in Australia, I want to do this all the correct way....

Well my title says it all really! My partner are I are wanting to get married when I visit him in Houston in September. Am I legally allowed to do this while entering on the ETSA?

It shouldn't be a problem. I'm from Canada, and my husband and I got married last year in the USA. I just brought my passport and driver's license. They just leave the SSN part blank. No problem.
Awesome thank you so much!

You must have a passport or birth certificate.
Yes, I will have both, I was more concerned about not having a social security number

My partner and I are planning on getting married when I’m over next....I was looking at the proof of id I need and it says either my birth certificate, passport and my social sercruity number....As I’m not a US citizen I don’t have a social security number, does anyone know if this will be an issue?
My partner lives in Houston Texas

Do you mind saying how much this all cost?

He needs to give explicit permission for them to immigrate to the US as permanent residents. The signature needs to be notarized. You'll be following international laws regarding children, not specific US immigration laws.
Ok thanks so much for the information! It makes things a lot clearer for me

The formal permission is presented at the visa interview at the end of the process. However, it would be prudent to get it in writing BEFORE filing the petitions and planning their future in the US.
So basically all I need is a letter written and signed by him stating he has no issue with the boys living overseas?

They will need CR2 visas. The process is the same as yours AND they will each need their own petition filed at the same time yours is filed. The I-130 instructions will tell you the differences in what supporting documentation you will need with their petitions. You WILL need the father's approval or court ordered full custody, if the father is still alive.
Awesome thanks for that, I don’t see it being a problem with their dad at all to be honest
