Alexda reacted to pushbrk in IR1 application for my husband...lots of questions
I've seen this misinterpretation a few times. Your brain seems to be inserting a "the" before the bold part of your quote, that is not there. Not "the five years, but ANY 5 years with one of those five years being after turning 14. Just helped a good friend get a CRBA, who has also not lived in the USA for 7 years but lived in the USA 45 years, 31 of which were after he turned 14.

Alexda reacted to Nar_fah in Form DS-5535 'SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS FOR VISA APPLICANTS'
Hello everyone,
I am here to share the good news. My husband's visa got issued today exactly 17 months after his interview date.
I hope this journey ends for everyone who is waiting. This waiting journey was really frustrating and emotionally draining for me, and I am sure it is the same for everyone who is going through this. But thank God, it came to an end.
I am on cloud 9 today. I am very grateful and thankful for this day. I hope everyone waiting gets to see this day soon.
Thanks

Yes. We had the interview at Kabul Embassy. It's been 8 months since the interview and we are still in AP.

Alexda reacted to NeHAZ16 in Kabul Embassy not replying to emails! K-1 Visa
Hi everyone! So I am currently going through the K-1 visa process with my fiancé who lives in Afghanistan. His interview was in April and we have been in AP ever since. Every once in a while my fiancé and I would email the U.S. embassy in Kabul to ask for an update and they would always reply with a really generic email. I emailed them first week of December and then my fiancé emailed them in the middle of December but they still haven’t replied.
Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do ? Was hoping maybe this was a a sign that they are almost done ?
