  1. Is it normal to not receive an email once you fax your EAD expedite proof documents?

We faxed everything in on 7/17 and the fax machine said "Completed - all pages sent" but we never received any notification that they were received. To be fair though, we never received any email notifications at all since applying for the AOS/EAD/AP.

Do you think we should try faxing everything again?

  2. Looks like this is the thread to follow for us as well. This is our current timeline - how do I post it as a signature?

I recommend that you wait to complete those documents as the time period between now and March is so great that things can change. Right now the I-134 form is at end of life and we may see an update soon. Yes the form can continued to be used until such time as the new one is released but why put yourself in a situation that you don't need to be in.

Medical can be completed, but your visa validity is tied to the medical date and is only 6 months long. So if you do the medical now and are not approved till March/April you have burned 3-4 months of your visa validity.

It's best that you wait until a few weeks from when you are ready for an interview date.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. We’ll definitely wait until it’s closer to the interview then.

  4. Yay, called today and our case # was issued on the 14th! 🎉

Question for anyone that may know:

My fiancé will be traveling for work the entire month of Feb (I know, bad timing) and we are hoping to get an interview before he leaves but most likely it won’t be until when he gets back.

Can we still do all the forms/medical beforehand? I would like to do the DS-160, I-134 and medical right away but I’m worried they may not be valid if his interview gets scheduled for early March.

    Any ideas/tips?

NOA2 Date was November 21, hard copy received Nov 26th. Has anyone heard any big shipment going to NVC? Cuz we haven't received any news for three weeks now. Why is USCIS taking three weeks to ship out? Is this the slow-down before holiday season? I'm hoping my case number would be assigned before the end of year slump...is that wishful thinking?

Our NOA2 was 11-21-18 as well. NVC received our file on 12-3-18 but still waiting on the case number to be assigned. It should be soon for you too. Fingers crossed.

  6. Hi everyone,

My fiancé recently pulled his vaccination records from his childhood doctor to consult with his current doctor on what’s needed. We are proactively doing this to avoid extra fees at the medical appointment for the interview.

His current doctor compared them (his list from childhood & the requirements on the embassy site) and it appears he needs to get 7 vaccinations!? I can’t imagine the medical before the interview would give that many at once.

That seems a bit excessive but I’m hoping others can help shed light and the best way to do this. Thanks!

Select your flag in your profile in the left hand column and another page will populate with additional information specific to Austria. There is a lot of informaiton there.

I usually have a P3 letter but like you said Austria hasn't been that common "around these parts" (sorry southern US slang). If and when you receive one from your embassy can  you share a copy with me so I can share with others who will come behind you? Thanks. Just PM me here on VJ when you have it.

Thank you! I will definitely share once received.

  8. We just got our NOA2 on 11-21-18 so it looks like this is our forum. 😀

I’m leaving for the Netherlands on the 20th to spend Christmas with my fiancé and his family (he’s Dutch but lives in Austria). I’m hoping to maybe have a case number by then.

I know Austria isn’t as common as the other countries but if anyone has info on what to expect there with the remaining process I’d be very grateful.
