  1. We flew home from Asia 3 days ago and had no issues at all when checking in at Vietnam using his expired gc and letter. When we came back to immigration Thursday (which BTW was insane as they had tourists, gc, and global entry all in one line...not sure what was going on but it was horrible if anyone else was there this past Thur) we got to the global entry part and my husband (as did we) had to talk to the guy. we gave him the letter and gc, and it was loud so i couldnt hear him - that we had to update the global entry but wasnt sure if that meant with the new GC we will probably never get (as my husband will prob be a citizen by the time we hear) or if he means we have to do some type of update with GE with the EXT letter? anyone know? thanks
  2. I forgot my husbsand has global entry, so hopefully it will be fine and not have to deal with the letter!
  3. Hi all, I saw there was a thread on this but it was from 2017 so I thought I would do a new one as the link from the government in there was bad. My husband (British) and I (American) are traveling to Asia with my family for the first time since we got the extension letter end of Dec. Right now his letter is for 48 months (from March 2023). We havent done this before, so a little nervous, so sorry if these questions have been answered or seem easy. When we leave for Tokyo, my husband can use his normal British passport to exit the US, right, then upon returning, he will need to show his expired GC and the actual letter, correct? Does he need to show the Delta airline person coming back or only at Ohare when we return? Any other docs we can print (as the airline people in Asia may now know), or even the people at Ohare upon our return? I have heard horror stories of immigration people leaving other countries or even ours, not knowing what the letter is Thanks, Caitlin
  4. if my husbands green card expired march 23, 2023, when can he apply? are you saying the application requirements are different pending when you apply?
  5. In looking to the future, what type of stuff should my husband and i be collecting for citizenship? I hope the days of proof are over but I want to be mindful so we arent rushing when we can apply for it.
  6. so this "new" 48 extended I-55I notice, is everyone getting these? this is new right? my friend got it who filed in november, so if we filed in jan..maybe a lot of us will get it in april/ may? our original one was 36 months
  7. They used my husbands biometrics and got a letter confirming. now we just wait to see if we get an interview i guess.
  8. Hi! it is 36 months. So I guess just check every few months if it says anything for biometrics / interview. It says another NOA letter will come if they need our biometrics, i guess we just wait. i assume same with interview, a letter will come if they want it. thanks for confirming. got it. once march 24 hits and we leave the us, we will bring that all with us. so when we book our trip to england in may, when we get to checking in, show them the letter so they can do that manually?
  9. We got our NOA, so now we just wait for an update on Biometrics? It said we would receive an email .... in a few months, god willing? Also, for the NOA letter we have to start using in March once my husbands GC expires, do you recommend bringing the ACTUAL letter, or can a copy do when traveling? I dont love the idea of traveling with that NOA but if we have to we will. Also, has anyone brought with them instructions on the form/info on the extension incase we get to immigration in the US and they have no idea what that letter is/challenge us. we plan to go back to england in may and will need to bring the letter.
  10. we just got our NOA today! 36 months! so to confirm, once my husbands GC expires in march, we show the actual letter anytime we leave the US upon return? it says the petitioner and beneficiary is my husband, that is correct right?
  11. i got a text before they took our money, but yeah you have it right in theory
  12. thanks, just making sure. i hope ours will change to that too, waiting for NOA in email. got text one week ago exactly
  13. We sent 1/10 PM, Received Text 1/13, Check cashed, Waiting on NOA Letter..Starts with LIN. I hope a week plus to get NOA is normal
  14. sorry if someone has asked this before, so since my husbands gc expires in march - do we show his employment the extension letter proving he can work / stay here?
  15. we sent ours last night, and USPS said it was received at 6 am this morning in carol stream, IL. we should then receive a text any day then they will send to TBD service center
  16. So if my husband got it march 23, 2021, then march 24, 2024? That's if you meet physical presence test, continuous residence test and marital union tests. - What are all these? Part of the 751/400?
  17. We sent last night! To confirm steps as AOS feels like a different lifetime. 1. Sent to Carol Stream, IL via USPS, Receive text 2. They send to center (TBD which one) 3. They send NOA / extension letter of two years 4. We wait for biometrics appt 5. Wait for potential interview
