Hello,
We sent our I751 form - I see the package has been delivered and my credit card has been charged for the exact fee amount. I have not received any intimation from USCIS- and I am wondering what is the best way to check on the status? -

Mod hat off
You cannot just change your step son's last name because you married his mother. You have to get it changed in court and may need his father's consent.
His biological father has passed away many years ago.

Hello,
I want to change the last name of my stepson. My wife's last name was changed when I applied for her green card however did not realize to submit the same for my step son. What is the process and cost? I have already sent the I751 for the removal of the condition on their residency here. Please help. -

Your wife is not eligible for naturalization. The 3 years rule is 1) be a green card holder for 3 years, AND 2) be married to a US citizen for 3 years, AND 3) live with the USC spouse for 3 years.
Your wife has a 2 years green card, so she does not meet the requirements for naturalization. She failed the first requirement.Your wife MUST file an I-751. There is NO WAY around this.
Thank you for clarifying.

Yeah, The way I look at it is it will force me to pay the fee twice- one for I751 and then for N-400. Thank you for your help. I have another question for I 751. What is the fee I have to pay if I am filing for my wife as well as her son. Do I pay X2 for the I751 and X2 for the biometrics?

Just curious, My wife would have lived here for 3 years by January 10th 2022, She has held her Green card for 2 years. Based on the USCIS website, her residency duration in the US fulfils the requirement for being eligible to apply for naturalization- N 400. My question is can we directly file form N 400 and skip I751? The fee for both is incredibly high. Please guide me.

Thank you for your advice. I remember filling the form for her green card and at that from it specifically asked to put all the children name bio or not.
What about the other information section of Part4? Is it asking for my information? I am the US citizen and she is filling jointly with me to remove the condition. -
Hello Guys,
I am preparing to file for my wife's condition of residency removed and filling the form I751. I have a few questions - I hope this forum will help me with the answers.
On the form part 4 and part 5 are confusion. Can any one kindly provide some guidance? On part 4 is it asking about the spouse info who is the basis of this application? And on the part 5 is it asking for the petitioners child- in my case my wife? Or is it asking for all the children - including the step children?
Thanks

I certainly do not remember if I sent that copy of the medical forms that were given to us at the time of K1 interview. But yes we gave one at the airport when we arrived here in the US to the customs and boarder security folks. I do not remember if I submitted any copy of the medical forms at the time of submitting the I485- Would you recommend I skip this form and go to the interview and if they need it they can issue another date to me to submit the i693? This I693 is costing a whopping $350 a pop and I got two of those to get. Kindly help.

Hello all- We just received the letter for our interview-
we have one question regarding form 693- that is record of vaccination. We had submitted our medical certificate at the time of our interview in India for the fiancé visa. This form asks to submit this form and it also says if you have not already this form then bring a sealed copy of this form. Not sure if they are referring to the same form that we submitted at the time of our visa interview or it is something totally different? Any insight will be extremely helpful - We do not have much time left before our interview date.

No change as of now. We have not received any letter for interview. Not sure what and when to expect.

Hello my case is with Washington DC center, it been almost a year since we applied for the AOS. The USCIS site states that they are ready to schedule the interview- but we have not received any interview letter. Does any one know what to expect and what is the timeline?

Hello I am trying to figure out if I should go ahead and change the maiden name of my wife on her Indian passport while we wait for her interview to be scheduled by USCIS. We already have a SSN under her new maiden name, her EAD card is under her new maiden name. Just not sure if we should apply for name change on her Indian passport. If any one has any experience or any feedback we will really appreciate it.

Today I saw the processing time for the Washington LFO is between 10-28 months. Why does it keep changing? If they already have my paper- mine should show shorter processing time given in the beginning it showed 10.5- 24.5

That wont be your LFO.
Fingerprinting takes place at ASCs not LFOs.
Input your zip code here and tell us what it says:

That will be based on the processing times of your particular Local Field Office.
"Ready to schedule" usually signifies your I485 has been sent to your LFO to sit in line for an interview. That line up may take a few months or it may take a few years as it depends on your LFO.
If you tell us your LFO, we can show you your estimated processing times.
Our LFO is in Alexandria Virginia where we got our finger printing done.

Hello there,
Our status for the AOS shows as follow:
As of May 7, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
The above has been showing two weeks after we got our biometrics done. Any one has any idea as to how long it may be for an interview date. Any input will be highly appreciated.
Thanks -

It's been taking awhile lately (3 weeks+).
Did you send it to Chicago?
And did you submit however many G1145's on top of each form for each applicant?
You wont have a reference number to refer to when you call so I would imagine you would just give your name and Alien number but I would wait a week or two yet.
My Email/Text didnt arrive for 10 business days.
Thanks for your input, yes we have placed G1145 for each applicant. When you say its been taking 3 plus weeks- do you mean 21 business days? or 3 weeks including the weekends? Yes we sent it to chicago lock box. Did you use a credit card or check for the payment?
-
Hello every one,
According to USPS tracking number our package for I485 AOS has been received at the lockbox, however we are not seeing our credit card charged. Its been about two weeks since our application was received at the lockbox. Does any one know how long we must wait before try to contact the USCIS, and if we need to contact the USCIS what reference number do we need to provide?
Thank you for all your feedback. -

Do you mean k1 and k2? The k2 xhild will keep their birth name unless the usc adopts them or is the biological child. For k1 you simply fill out paperwork with your married name. The marriage certificate allows you to use your spouse's surname.
So does that mean that I should leave the child's last name as his birth last name?

Just fill the the papers out in the new name.
Thanks for the response. What about the K3 visa- my step sons last name?
