Its almost been 1.5 months in Ap. On Mar 4, I was given 221g for submission of wedding photos though I showed the whole album to CO at the interview but still he wasn’t convinced and kept my passport and medical.I mailed the pictures through AEG then after 6 days I got ds-5535 questionnaire in email which I sent back within 2 hours. Till now I have got 11 updates but since Apr 4 case stopped getting updated. Yesterday I sent an email inquiry then I got the case update but the same auto-reply that case is under administrative processing.

When I track my passport it says no status update available and on cgifederal blank document delivery information.

I really want to know what’s going on with my case. Had anyone gone through this or please guide what should I do??

This waiting game is so frustrating and terrible.

Close to 16 months in AP. When will this end...

I heard its taking 3-4 years to clear ds5535 because of backlogs within US itself and least priority is given to foreign immigrant application .

I probably will wait for few more months rather than going for WoM.  Alhamdulillah am happy my wife and kids are visiting me next week in india and now we plan to go together whenever AP is over inshallah. Best of luck for everyone. Hasbunallahi wa nemal wakil.

Yes they are handing over ds5535 alot now a days, if your name is a common name ex mohammad or  If you had travelled to gulf nations. As per embassy my all documents are ok for iR1 visa they said case is in Washington ds for background check thats it. I hope everyone here gets their visa asap inshallah. 

Following this forum from jan 2018.

Its been 14 months in AP and was asked to fill the questionnaire. I had my interview in jan18 2018. My wife and two infants are us citizens. I dont have any criminal history. My case is as simple as it could be. Completed all the documents.my name alhamdulillah starts with Mohammad and i had visited my elder sister in dubai for 15 days. What more proofs and background check they need?  14 months isnt enough? I wasnt near my wife on both occasions my kids were born in dallas. Mumbai embassy always reply with same content. This is incomprehensible in any extent. My wife needs me. We have gone through alot in these 14 months alhamdulillah still so grateful to allah,  he bestowed us with kids. I am thinking to go for Writ of Mandamous. May allah guide us with right decisions. Best wishes to everyone here. Please remember us in duas. 

Hi everyone, i had my ir1 immigration interview on 18th jan,2018 in mumbai consulate, India. Got 221g along with a questionnaire (ds5535).submitted on 5th feb, 2018. Its been 13 months in APi am waiting in india. My wife and my 2 babies are US citizens. We are following this forum from last 1 year. I have no idea whats going on. I get regular updates and also post inquiry date updates but the same generic reply. May we have sabr and indeed hazbunallahi wa nemal wakeel. I hope this nightmare ends one day.

I had my immigration IR1  interview in January 18, was given a ds5535 questionnaire on a paper along with 221g letter by post.I submitted the same next day  and been on AP since then. It's been 5 months now .My wife and son are US citizens . I just want to know how long is the process going in India for ds 5535 questionnaire in AP ?

Hello Everyone! 

Been reading this forum for a while, and, I am in the same boat. My husband had his interview on January 19 ,everything went fine ,they just asked for one document with the passport to turn in the US consulate. We did that and then suddenly they sent us a questionnaire (which is exactly like DS 5355) . Anyways, turned it in again last week. Got status updates for three consecutive days and then it stopped . I am very frustrated. Just dunno how long is the wait!! Reading here helps me go thru a little bit .
