  1. Hi all, I'm so glad I found a September 2020 application thread! I applied on September 14 under the 5 years conditions and no longer married. I already have my ROC completed (thank god!) and now I'm starting again another long process but I hope it goes by nice and smooth for all of us. talking about the wait time, I see in my application that my estimated case competition time is 13 months and I should hear something back by October 31,2021 😬 well, let's see... good luck everyone!

    Hi all,

Quick question. If my GC is expired and I have an extension letter, do I need a stamp in my passport or can I travel with those two documents?

    Thanks

Hi Sally, no, you don’t need the stamp as long as you have the extension letter and this one is not expired. I traveled a lot before getting my I-751 approved, and I used my extension letter all the time with no problems. Once my extension letter expired, I got the stamp though.

  3. Hi guys, today I received a notification that my card has been mailed to me on May 30th. Well, it has been a long journey, I got divorced, my life completely changed, and I started my new life with a lot of anxiety and depression because of this dang process. I was so scared of getting divorce while being in the middle of an immigration process but my marriage made every day of my life a bit painful. Today I can breath, I feel happy, I feel relieved. I wish nothing but the best for the ones who still waiting. Best luck to y’all!

I applied in oct 2017 and then divorce in May 2018, transfer from cali to Vermont and now fews days back RFE.

How you informed uscis about your divorce?

@LampPost once I got my divorce decree, I wrote down a long, and very detailed statement explaining then the reasons why we got divorced. I told them our entire story, from when I met my ex husband to the day when I got my divorce decree. I sent them final evidence like the last statements of our joint bank account, our last taxes and the last apartment lease before we close everything we had together, and before we moved out of our apartment. I know you might feel anxious and scared, I’ve been there, but you got this! Please ask me if you need anything else!

I have pretty much the same case.

My divorce happened after applying for ROC.

Can you tell me what is the workflow after that?

Hi @LampPost well I think my process got reviewed a few times before hearing something about it. I was originally in Cali, then they transferred me to Nebraska, and on March they transferred me against to Missouri and just three weeks ago I got my notification for my interview. Have you been transferred, or have you heard anything about it yet?

I’m still kinda waiting because even tho my case tracker says “card is being produced” my case in the uscis website hasn’t been updated since the last transfer, so I don’t know if I have been approved yet or not.

  6. Hi guys,

last week I had my ROC interview, I didn’t apply for I-400 because in the middle of my process I got divorce. Anyway, in the interview, at the end, they told me they’ll let me know in the next few weeks. On Friday I received a notification from the case tracker saying “new card is being produced,” however, online my status is the same, nothing hasn’t changed yet in there. Well, now I’m confused. Have I gotten approved or not?2A3EB50E-7AD4-40E3-B12D-3CD014AF4982.thumb.jpeg.3b674943c4b0c6756cf1999d51aa91b8.jpeg

I had 2 friends who went through post divorce i751 interviews. Make sure to bring a lot of supporting documentation. Organize your supporting documentation, so that if anything asked of you, it’s easily accessible. Prepare your words, especially story of how you met your spouse and how it fell apart. Talk about how you tried to prevent divorce and why it didn’t work. Make your story personal, talk a lot, but choose your words carefully. Basically rehearse. Be calm, but likable. Dress business. You’ll be fine! Good luck!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!!! I’m gonna be extremely prepared. Also thanks for the advice on what to wear, I was asking everybody what I should wear on that day. One question, do I have to bring info they already have? I sent them bank statements, our apartment leases, license drivers, health insurances, million pictures, and basically everything we could use as evidence. Should I re print those things?

  8. Last week I received a letter from uscis where they scheduled me for an interview, which it is in two weeks. I don’t not apply for N400 because in the middle of my application I got divorce. Any suggestions? I’m a bit nervous but I’m not going crazy, I’m actually happy because that means this I751 journey is gonna be over in two weeks after waiting for a year and a half. Anyway, if anybody have some tips for me or any advices for the interview, I’ll appreciate it, and thanks in advance!

Personal note:  I'm finished with this infernal immigration process, but I remember the trauma of it clearly.  I sincerely hope for rapid progress in your case.  Even if I don't respond openly, I'm cheering loudly at your announcement of success.

    Thank you @TBoneTX

    This stamp already expired.

If it is valid, it serves as an equivalent to your green card (I-551), as stated on the stamp, you can use it for proof of US residency and employment authorization.

Thanks for the answer, the photo is from internet but it’s the same stamp as the one I got in my passport. Mine actually expires next year. I know this is proof I can work, but my question is, is it proof that I can travel outside of the country since it only says “employment authorized”? I’m worried because I don’t see anything regarding traveling. Thanks :)

Received another 18 month extension letter today from Lee Summit (file got transferred there), notice date is April 15, 2019. It's weird. Has it happened to anyone else?

My case got transferred to that location too like a month ago! It such because we can’t check their timelines or anything in general. That sounds weird tho, I haven’t received another extension letter, so I guess we will wait...

In between those ttansfers Nebraska office updated my name . Did that happen to u as well? I didn’t understand what that meant cuz I didn’t change my name or anything like that. Why would they update it ?

That’s weird, it didn’t happen to me though. I wonder if that was a glitch or a mystake. Did you call to ask them what that was about?

Hello everyone . First time here . Extremely worried. I’m waiting for approval on my 10year green card . And my case was transferred twice . First form California to Nebraska and today it was transferred again but I still don’t know where cuz I didn’t receive a notice . I just wanted to see if anyone had they case transferred back and forth and did anyone get approval yet ? If anyone knows why would they transfer it twice?

Hi @Ana71891 the same thing happened to me. On November 6th, 2018 I got transferred to Nebraska from Cali, and just 8 days ago I got transferred again to another jurisdiction. I called uscis to check the status of my case and I found out that my case is in lee’s Summit, MO. Literally in the most remot area on earth, I can’t even check their time processing timelines. I honestly don’t know why they transferred me. Let’s hope this means some ting good. At least someone reviewed our cases for a second.

On November 5th, 2018 my case was transferred from csc to Nebraska. Now, I got transferred again but since I don’t have an official notice of action, I don’t know where it went. Does anybody got transferred today as well? I wonder what this could mean, ugh!!!

  15. Hi guys, I know we have talked about this many times but I don’t remember exactly where, so I’m going to ask this question again. Since my extension letter expires next month, and the website for an infopass appointment never has an appointment available, where can I call to schedule the infopass appointment? Would it be to the same number we use to check the status of our ROC? Thank you!

I feel like the majority of I-751 cases that transferred to NSC on November 20, 2018, have been processed in some way shape or form (RFE or approval) except for a few cases including mine. It's so annoying.  My case is WAC1801700xxx.  Mentally, I don't know how much I can wait longer. My friend who is a November 2017 filer got her case transferred to TX in Jan 2019 and she just got her I-751 approval last Friday.

And scheduling Infopass appointment for i-551 stamp is crazy and stupid. My 18-month extension expires in May. They didn't let me schedule for an appointment today. They wanted me to call them back again in April. According to them, for the stamp, I have to be within 30 days of the expiration of my extension like what happened if my field office is backlog with appointments. I just don't know how to navigate this uncertainty. Like is it necessary to get my passport stamped?

I just wish I got everything approved before April so I don't have to go and get the I-551 stamp.

Thank you so much for reading y'all.

I totally anderstand you, I’m in the same boat. In fact, my case  number is WAC1801700xxx, and I got transferred to NSC on November 5th, 2018 as well. It is frustrating to see how everybody else around our number gets approved. I hope we hear something soon because this wait and anxiety drives me insane.

    Hello All,

I've been reading for about half a year but this is my first post. This morning the status of my ROC has updated to "new card is being produced". I initially filed jointly on October 14th 2017 at CSC and they received the documents on October 17th 2017. They gave me case number WAC1801700XXX. I got a status update on February 25th and another one on the 27th, 2018, on myUSCIS: "Case was received at my local office". I never received an appointment for biometrics so I submitted a "missing document" inquire. They got back to me with the info that no new biometrics are needed, they would reuse the old ones.

Time went by, until November 20th 2018 when my case updated again but only on the USCIS case app (iPhone) telling me that a new office has jurisdiction over my case. A week after that, I received a letter in the mail, saying that my case was transferred to the Nebraska Service Center. Then nothing again, until this morning when my status on the phone app changed to "new card is being produced". There is no update on the myUSCIS website yet. And before I forget, I did not file for N400.

So that's it I suppose. I wish I could pass on hope, and good wishes, and comfort, but these 17 months of waiting have been nothing short of hell on earth. And there seems to be no way of calculating/understanding the process either, which makes it so unbearable. So, I guess, it comes down to this: good LUCK to you all.

Omg, my case is the same as yours! I even have the same first few wac numbers, 18017xxx. You must be either a few cases above or down below my case. Regarding my case, I have the same updates and even the same transfer dates. I had the same situation with my biometrics as well. Thank you so much for writing, you give me some hope! I hope I hear something soon as well. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’m extremely happy for you!
