Hi! I called the NVC in New Hampshire yesterday and they informed me that they received our petition on Wednesday April 18th. They said they were currently processing and mentioned something about it being electronic or digital...What does this mean exactly?
When will I be able to receive my NVC case #? NOA1 September 22nd , NOA April 2 2018 (paper copy reads NOA2 approval March 30th)
Good news! The NVC is generally friendly and you can call everyday, until they give you your NVC #. I recommend calling at night when they're less busy. Once you get your # you just wait for your status to change to 'ready' and you can submit DS160. Good luck.

Nevermind, I went straight to Kvisa instead of the document delivery link and it let me do it without these options. XD
I'm glad you got it resolved, but I'm wondering if the issue was the difference between choosing immigrant visa instead of nonimmigrant visa.

👋 hey everyone
so our status changed to READY yesterday?
now what to do next for K1 ?
Do we have to send p3 my email to them?
Or we have to wait for their mail or something??
When to book our medical? Before the interview bookings or after ?
Em from toronto so can i go for medical in toronto to mentioned physicians?
DS-160, if you haven't already, and yes, send p3 via email. Then wait (won't be long) for them to respond with p4. Then setup interview, then medical. Can't setup medical until interview date is setup, even though medical must transpire before the interview. Can't setup interview until they email you p4. Good luck!

Ah, same day as my fiancé's!
When is the interview scheduled for? It goes pretty quick - my fiancé's interview was 2/22 and they had to wait for his papers from the doctor from his medical to arrive. He had his VOH by 3/5. so even if they have to wait for something to be finalized, it still moves pretty quick.
Interview is April 4th, two more days. I'm hoping to have VOH quickly to alleviate stress, but have to wait for school to finish before crossing.

CAUTION FOR EVERYONE RE: APPLYING FOR YOUR SSN TOO EARLY
Good to know. Just yesterday I was searching for SSN info and found this: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn It says to wait 2 weeks after POE to apply. My county says a SSN is a must but only if you have one, otherwise just visa, passport, drivers license, etc. Crossing fingers because our plan is to get married the day after POE. Keep us up-to-date on your progress...good luck!

Hey everyone, we're waiting for our status to change to ready. I'm just wondering if most of you received the packets from the consulate via email or post? Hoping for email!

It doesn't move that fast in Canada
My application turned "Ready" in Montreal and it's been dead silence since then.
Did you do the DS-160:? If not, do that, but make sure and print the confirmation page. This might trigger the packet 3, it did for us.

It is nice, enjoyed my nearly 2 yrs there......Preferred Nicaragua over it to be honest....cheaper....close beaches..cheaper beer, lol
My friend also lived in Nicaragua for a time, just north of Matagalpa in a tiny town. She prefers Quito. She liked Costa Rica and Uruguay better than Nicaragua also. Guess it all just depends on the area and circumstances.

When we resided in Ecuador they had a Poutine place.....owners were from Quebec I believe. It was ok, but not as good as Mtl.
Haha, my friend is in Ecuador right now and she said the same thing: there is a Poutine place, good but not as good as Canada.

Does anyone have a review on the Montreal Consulate interview process?
Did they issue the visa after your interview or did you have to wait?
There's some info here:

So my american and i got our NOA2 last week, and she just got an email with the NVC number saying it’s all being sent to the london embassy for me. I’m in the middle of completing the ds160 now. Is that okay? Some pages are pointing to the ds260... as far as I’m aware the process is for the “non immigrant” ds160, and once we are married i adjust my status. But the email linked to the ds260 which is “immigrant”...
This entire process is mega confusing and different people/sources say different things. Am i on the right path?
should i be on a different thread? ^^
Stick with DS160

I got my case #, what happened now?
Wait for the status to change to 'ready'. Then submit DS160 (you don't have to, you can wait for this step and do it with p3, I think). If you don't have your police report(s), get em. Get your immunizations updated (or you can wait for your medical).
They will send an email with a link to packet 3 and that's when you can submit p3. You can go to the consulate website to see p3 (here's a link to the .pdf: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf and start gathering the appropriate documents. Several Canadian filers (us included) submitted p3 prior to receiving the email (because our CEAC status said 'ready', but the consulate just ignored it and we had to resubmit).
Then they send you packet 4 and you can pay your fees now or at interview, schedule the interview, and then schedule medical.
Fellow Canadians, if I gave any false or misleading info, please correct me.

WOOTT so my case is being expedited to the embassy of Montreal, because of the length of time it took to get case #.
Its in Transit, how long till they receive it?
noa2-January 12th
case received at NVC- January 31st
Case #- February 15th
Case sent to embassy - February 16th
Don't mean to burst your bubble, but they send that expedited email to all Canada filers. It just means that Canada is accepting data electronically (fairly new). That being said, it won't be long now, just keep checking the CEAC status and when it says 'ready', they have received it.

How long does it usually take from the time they assign a case # till they send it to the embassy?
Mine took 5 days to arrive at the consulate and another 9 to be 'ready'.

@A & C 1 where did you see that you need I-864? On the packet 4 for Montreal it has that listed under immigrant visa but not under k1.
Here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/appointment-checklist/
It's confusing because most sites say I-134, so I don't think the I864 is mandatory (except it mentions it in the checklist) but because we have a co-sponsor (so they'll scrutinize our income more) and because our lawyer told us to, we are taking both. They are almost identical, but I'd rather be overly prepared (and it's needed for AOS anyway).

Does anyone know anything about co sponsor??? I check online but it keeps talking about I 184 but i am not sure.
I don't know if it's the same for all countries, and I don't know what I 184 is, but I believe the I-134 is for both the sponsor & co-sponsor. That being said, Canada specifically states to bring I-864 to interview. Also our lawyer said to provide both as some have been denied at interview for not having both. Also, you'll need I-864 for AOS so why not prepare it now, and just update later at AOS. We are doing both forms (I 134 & I 864) for both the sponsor and co-sponsor...just in case.

We did both. Only the I134 is required at this step but our lawyer said some have been turned away because they didn't have the I864, so we should have it ready. Then later when we filed for AOS, we just updated the I864.
We did wet-ink signature.
