I read many times that you can update your SSN at least after 10 days from your oath date. So I went after 15 days (because I was waiting for my passport and my certificate). It went very smoothy, he asked me for my passport + my driver's license. I told him that I have my certificate if he want to see it, he said no just your passport and your DL.

Yes I did apply for my U.S. Passport on the next day of my ceremony, and I received it after 12 days, then I received my certificate after 2 days more.  (Regular process) 
On last Monday I went to SSA to update my citizenship status, and I received my new SSN Card "same the old SSN" today by mail! (Actually I did not know that they will issue me a new card, but when I update it they told me that they will send me a new card within 2 weeks)

Great! You will get a new notice after couple days that they scheduled you oath ceremony, then you could see the oath letter online after couple hours or after a day.

Good evening everyone. I am so happy to tell you all that my oath ceremony will be scheduled soon. I got four texts while I was at work today a few hours ago. I checked the USCIS.GOV account instantly and saw the "Oath Ceremony Will be Scheduled" yay  I was feeling anxious after my interview. This is such a big relief. Thanks to all of you who were supportive. I am just waiting for the oath notice to be posted Oh Boy another wait  I would be very happy if they schedule my oath before my school starts. Best wishes to all of you

Yes I did read the rest of the page. The other things listed are additional evidence he can use instead of a passport.
 
Also, an expired passport is valid as proof of citizenship. Here's a state department page saying as much for both natural born and naturalized citizens. People don't realize that expired passports can be used for many things, including domestic travel.
 
A passport is also cheaper than an N600, $100 vs $1,200. So even if not everyone needs one, it's still cheaper to get a passport. It's also easier to carry around.
 
Finally, in regards to sooner or later that boy needing proof, that can be said about any US citizen. I'm a natural born citizen and I don't have my birth certificate handy, but I do have my passport.

Good evening,  I had my joint ROC and N-400 interview today. I passed the N-400 test. The IO didn't interview my wife and called me for the interview. We were expecting they will interview both of us together since we have a pending I-751. The IO only interviewed me and my wife was waiting outside. I reminded the officer a few times that I have also a pending I-751 so my wife is with me. The IO didn't care so I realized they are only interested in me but the officer was aware of the whole situation. The first part was the civics test and then the IO moved to the ROC part of the interview. I was asked how met?  my job and my school. The IO also asked me questions regarding my wife's job and what things we do for fun. I also brought ongoing evidence of our relationship and they officer took most of them. I recommend it to everyone to bring a more ongoing relationship paperwork to the interview if you have filed for N-400 with a pending I-751. Thanks for everyone's support and reading my post. I am praying for everyone and myself for a smooth rest of the immigration journey. Since I have a pending ROC so they will approve it first before they approve my N-400. It is another waiting game now o Boy!
