I have a relative who often flies internationally via standby on United and their Star Alliance partners since her husband is a United employee. Seems pretty straight forward for her outside major holidays. What exactly is your concern? Don't think you'll have any problems...

I'm just concerned about if the immigration will accept this kind of arrangement for fiancee visa

  2. Hi everyone,

Has anyone here used a stand by ticket going to US with k1 visa or any idea?

My US petitioner works for an airline and I'm an approved guest for his airline. So upon leaving we plan to use this previlige. We have a letter from his airline stating that I'm on his previlige.

It was back in 2011,  a long time ago.  I had to do a Island hoping tour that day going to places like Honda Bay and a another island, it was a 12 hour trip.  My ankle was swelled up pretty bad. I rolled it around 4 am that morning by the pool at the hotel. It It killed me the first day.

I went to the first hilot who gave me long massage and then rubbed some oils on it and told me to not drink beer for 24 hours and not get my foot wet for 2 days.  I played along.

I see. I can't imagine how much pain you felt during the hilot did the massage 😬

I was in Palawan and rolled by ankle, I thought it was just a sprained ankle.  It was killing me, went to like two different Hilots on that island.  I was thinking they could help ease the pain.

I got home about 3 weeks later and went and got an xray and was told I had a hairline fracture.

Awww poor thing.. hope its  perfectly fine now.

They must mean two weeks past when her period was due otherwise as you say why do an ultrasound as there would be nothing to see, six weeks is early as well as you don’t always see a heartbeat. I only had mine then as I was ivf and they wanted to make sure it wasn’t ectopic.

OP for your own piece of mind, so that when you get to the us you can report the gestation accurately to the American doctor, and so that when you speak to the embassy I would recommend you clarify with your doctor what they meant by 2weeks4days pregnant.

That was the result of ultrasound pic which i quoted.

My friend is a radiologist at an MRI center here in Vegas. Does more X-rays in a day than I would want to count. I called him to ask about the danger to your baby just because I was curious. This is what he told me off his chart. your chest x-ray is 0.1mSv, this is how they measure radiation dosages. the other part is how many days it takes in normal life living and walking outside in the sun etc. So the one x-ray is equal to only 10 days of normal radiation exposure. He says it is one of if not the lowest level of radiation you can be exposed to. A cat scan hits you with about 2 years worth of normal exposure, where the worst is the high intensity IV Drip supported full body scan that will expose you to about 10 YEARS of normal radiation exposure. Of course anyone getting that x-ray he says isn't going to be around in the next 2-3 years anyway so it really doesn't matter. But the chest x-ray you will be getting for the TB check is the lowest possible, and he says they use they apron as a precaution, he says it's used to help calm down the people paranoid about nuking their baby, and rightly so, but it is such a low dose, I would say do not worry, he does them all the time. If your worried, just stay inside for 10 days straight and you can reset your radiation exposure. Just kidding, but it really is safe. He said there is the same chart all over the internet if you google it.

    Radiography-Chest 0.1 mSv 10 days

Oh thankyou so much! I really appreciate you calling your friend asking about this matter! Now i feel relieved...

    From St Lukes website

    1. All visa applicants 15 years old and above, male or female, are required to have chest x-ray to immigrate. Pregnant women will have proper shielding as a precautionary measure of radiation hazards. Pregnant applicants may have an option to defer medical examination including chest x-ray until delivery.

If you defer the x-ray then it will delay the process

Thank you! I hope this apron thing Will be effective.

    Decidedly true 🤣

They will conduct the X-ray but a lot of women don’t want to do that when pregnant even with the lead apron so they decide not to continue with the visa rather than being denied.

?!? Even with ultrasound they should be telling you the number of weeks from last period not since conception or from period due date. The only reason I bring this up is due to sometimes at interview being asked how many weeks you are and when was last time your fiancé visited - don’t want to accidentally give the wrong impression.

I see thanks for that info. I thought I should base it on the ultrasound results

Only ones I have seen denied due to pregnancy are ones where the dates the petitioner visited and the gestation of pregnancy are way off.

Any vaccinations you can’t have during pregnancy the doctor will put us counter indicated at the moment - you will need to have them do be in the us and a new immunizations record written up by a USCIS doctor in the states for your adjustment of status and please be advised this is a pain to get sorted. People have found it hard to get this done without doing a new medical.

Note you still have to get the X-ray done, they will give you an apron to put over your belly but to continue to the medical and therefore the visa is a personal decision on if you are comfortable doing this.

Also when discussing the pregnancy dating with the medical you need to count from your last period before conceiving - so saying 2 weeks pregnant is just the day you ovulated and not even pregnant yet. If you are two weeks past when your period was due but instead you got a positive test then you are counted as six weeks pregnant.

Thank you I mean my ultrasound is 2 weeks and 4 days.

Thank you so much for your help.

I was worried about this medical thing that would affect my visa.

I hope everything will be smooth.
