My husband's visa category is IR5, his son is the petitioner. He is doing the 6 steps now... His son has been living in US for more than 20 years, he was very small when he went to US.
The last time they see each other was less than a year ago in Colombia. Any additional advise for the interview.
Thanks!

Congratulations!
*Your case will be send to Department of State knows as National Visa Center (NVC)
*Once is receive, you need to wait up to 8 weeks to get you Case & Invoice numbers. If your case is PIVOT (ELECTRONIC PROCESS) is less time
GOOD LUCK!

Hola!! And nice!! I actually had the two fees ready to be paid at the same time so I wouldn’t know how long it takes for the other one to unlock. I know someone who’s interview is coming up on the 22nd of this month. Are you located in Bogota?
Hola!
No, I am in Boston and my husband in Medellin. His son is doing the petition for him (IR5). I hope we can have cc this month and then interview at the end of September or first week of October. What I know so far...US embassy in Bogota is really good assigning interview. Let's see!!! Good luck in your process.

hola!
Case & invoice numbers August 1,18
We only did the agent step, the payment of $120.00 and waiting to pay bill IV. We don't know how long it will take to pay the $325.00... My friend case was completed on June 27th and her interview is tomorrow in Colombia.

Hi everyone,
My case was sent to Department of state (NVC) on 2nd of August. Any ideas when it will be received by NVC so that I can start counting my 8 weeks timeline for IV/Case number.
Our took 7 days from USCIS to NVC and 7 weeks and 5 days for a case & invoice number. You start counting the 8 weeks once you know the date your case arrived at NVC
Good luck!

I paid both the same day, it wouldn't let me pay both at once so I logged out and back in again and that worked.
we did it , but the balance for "iv application processing fee " amount is $0.00 and do not allow us to pay this fee. If your case Pivot?

HI! we were unable to pay both fees on the same day. The AOS still "in process" since last Thursday August 2,18
How many days should we wait to pay the $325.00? Thanks

Yes. It won't cost you much to include marriage or divorce cert(if applicable).
It's better to be include irrelevant documents then get a CC right away than include very few documents then get a checklist.
thanks a lot!

I still dont understand about pivot case. Firstly, I thought it was up to where you come from.. but I have some Vietnamese friends, 2 people are pivot and 2 are nope......
The only thing I know is that a pivot case is an electronic process. Usually this process take less time to send the welcome letter with the case and invoice numbers and you have to summit everything online. In our case we received the welcome letter via email but that does not mean our case is pivot. we can only pay fees and summit the visa application online. Everything else like the affidavit and supporting documentation is by mail.
