Hi Madison! Could you tell me a little more about your experience at the London embassy? We are waiting for the date for my husband's interview, but I am just curious because I haven't heard much about London. What kind of questions did they ask? Was anyone allowed in the embassy with you?

    Thanks in advance!

Of course! It was my husband who did the interview but I'll tell you what all he told me about it. His interview was scheduled for 10:30 AM, he got there at 10:10 and was out by 10:45 lol, he said it was super quick and easy. We were nervous before just because it was finally the last step but he said it was absolutely nothing to worry about, it felt like more of a formality to him then anything. They only asked him 3 questions 1. How we met 2. Where I live now 3. What I do for a job. He brought a ton of documents with him that were all listed on what to bring to the interview but the only documents they looked at for him were the DS-260 confirmation page, our marriage certificate, the police certificate, and then my most recent tax return (it was the day after tax day so they wanted to see my updated one for 2017). He said it was very very easy and well organized and the people he talked to were very nice. I didn't attend the interview with him but I think you can bring people with you, they just have to stay in a waiting area or something (I'd double check that though, I think I remember reading that about the London embassy but can't remember where).

From what my husband told me you have nothing to worry about with it! Let me know if you have any other questions, good luck!!

Can you help me so I can budget, does someone have a list of all the costs I need from the first step to the last. We have paid the filing fee of $595

At the NVC stage you'll have the AOS fee of $120 and the IV fee of $325, then the medical in the UK is £290, and then the green card fee which I believe is $220

Hi, It has been a while, people.

So my wife had her interview last Wednesday and they approved her (Thank God), and since Friday CEAC is showing "issued". I don't know why they haven't mailed the passport back yet, does anyone know how it works, and how long it will take for my wife to receive her passport? Could they have already mailed, but the status is not showing on ais.usvisa-info (it still shows appointment status there)?

Please note that my wife lives in the middle of Paris, about 20 minutes away from the consulate by train, when she told them that she would rather pick it up, they refused, and they said we only do deliveries. Freaking sucks!!! We are hoping that she receives her passport by Wednesday because tickets are super cheap for Thursday from Paris.

Hey we're in the same situation! My husband had his interview in London last Wednesday and our status on CEAC changed to issued Friday as well. Sorry I don't have any answers, I'm wondering the same thing. Hopefully they both get them back in the next day or two, good luck!! :)

    Good luck !

i wonder if they process alphabetically by country? Does anyone know? I’m UK 🙄

It's not alphabetically but from what I know they have different people working on different countries and the time it takes to get your interview date just depends on how backed up the embassy you're at is. I am London and got mine the day after my case was complete (but I also got a case complete at the end of February when they were scheduling so I think I just got really lucky with timing). From what I've seen UK has been moving very fast so hopefully you'll have yours soon, good luck!! :)

    Hello Prospective US Immigrants,

If you have already gone to the interview, can you say if you needed to bring the previous year tax return?  So, for example, I submitted 2015 and 2016 tax return when filing. I don't intend to have 2017 when I go to my interview but I want to know if I need to take those two tax return in original form and if so, what exactly is referred to as original tax return?

If we already submitted to NVC, do we need to also bring them?

    Please advise

I'm at the London embassy and they say specifically on the list of things to bring to the interview to bring a copy of the I-864 and a copy of tax returns and W-2s. If it doesn't specifically ask you to bring them to your interview I wouldn't worry about it too much, however I would always advise bringing extra just in case. Since you just need photocopies I would say to bring them along just to be safe :)

Hey everyone, it has been a while since I got on this, and I'm still waiting for my wife to have her interview on April 18th in Paris.

I've noticed some people talking about biometrics, and others are not even mentioning it. I might be wrong, but I'm getting a feeling that biometrics only apply for certain countries and embassies. For example: when I looked at Mumbai's embassy in travel.state.gov, biometrics are on the checklist, but when I looked on the checklist for Paris, biometrics are not mentioned. Can anybody clarify? especially anyone who has a case pending in Western Europe or Canada, thank you.

    Good luck

Some people have to get their biometrics done separately just like the medical (Mumbai as you mentioned is one where you have to do this) and some embassies do the biometrics there during your interview. We are at the London embassy and it's not listed on our checklist either, ours will be done at the interview! :)

Your wife and my husband have the same interview date! Best of luck! :)

Is there anyone who already sent their documents in, has a scan date and is waiting for a case complete?

My scan date is March 5 does anyone know if it

actually takes 11 weeks for case complete or less?

Also our embassy changed it was New Delhi and now they transferred our case to Mumbai... I hope that won’t cause any delay😓

Every case is different but I haven't seen any actually take the full 11 weeks. My SD was 2/9 and got a case complete 2/26 so mine took just over 2 weeks! Good luck! :) hopefully you'll get a case complete soon!!

Is going to take at least 2 weeks to get it, And another 6 weeks for this document to be review and then schedule the interview. This is going to delay our process for about 2 months. This is why I want to know if somebody out there was able to give this PPC at the interview! Thanks

A friend of mine got a checklist for the same thing and had to send in a copy to the NVC. As far as I know NVC can't approve your case without the PPC. It's worth a few more calls to ask and see if you can get the information straight from them, but I'm almost certain you'll need to send it in in order for them to approve your case. Good luck!

    HELP PLEASE

So I was already waiting for my case to be completed and last week I received a checklist for my husband. He needs the Passport Police Clearance report. We sent one that we got in Kerala because our lawyer said it was ok, but they did not accepted it. We are already in the process of getting it. In the letter it said I can either send it to NVC or bring it to the interview. So we called to tell them that we are going to bring it to the interview and they are saying we must send it to NVC. We call several times and got mixed answers. One said to write a letter and see if they accept it. Anybody here knows if we can bring the PPC to the interview?

    SD Feb 8

    Mumbai embassy!

Send a copy to NVC and take the original to the interview

I received the P4 two days ago!!!  yaaay!! but I have a question though, and I believe it is relevant for all of us going into April/May:

So my wife has her interview on April 18th, which is literally one day after the tax return deadline for this year. Even though the joint sponsor and myself did not have any change in our income, will my wife need the new tax return transcripts for her interview? Maybe I should call NVC and ask.

    Thanks

My husband's interview is on April 18th too! Best of luck :) I'm wondering the same thing about tax returns

question regarding AOS tax documents. Since the 2017 tax season just started, haven't filed 2017 tax yet. Is it ok to submit 2016 tax transcript as the latest? and send the w2 for 2017 ?
People who are preparing their AOS packet currently what you guys including in your documents?

I sent mine in last week and used 2016 as the latest, you're not required to include 2017 until taxes are actually due on April 17th :)

Hey everyone, I just noticed the receipt I got for payment of the IV fee which I paid on Saturday, actually shows $120 as in the AOS fee so I have two receipts for that. Then this morning I noticed I received the fee letter again to pay the IV fee. Checked the website and it shows not paid. Luckily I took screen shots on my iPad which shows the IV is processing and the 325$ amount being paid. Anyone had this problem before. I will call them when they open

Same thing happened to me, give it a day or two after the money is taken out of your bank account and the IV fee will change to 'PAID' and you'll get a correct receipt for it!

    Hey all!

Question about the AOS. My wife (the US citizen sponsoring me and already living in the US) will have 'no' income from previous tax years (since she made her money here in the Netherlands befor moving back in October) but she *does* already had a job (and letter from her employer) showing that she earns over the required income threshold.

So, I don't need a joint sponsor right?

I'm using RapidVisa to review my petition and they told me that I needed a joint sponsor before they will send it to the NVC. I have a similar situation where I currently make enough to sponsor on my own, however my last tax return doesn't show that (I was still a student for the majority of the year and only worked part time). They said earning over the required income needs to be reflected in both current income and your last tax return so I would add a joint sponsor to be safe!
