I had posted this on another thread a few months ago:

I field for ROC (I-751) in February 2019 and for N400 in June 2020.  I received a notice back in July for N400 interview, but never received an interview notice for the I-751.  Our N400 interview was this past Friday, September 10 and the officer adjudicated the i-751 at the same time in a combo interview - we went prepared for a combo interview.  Both approved, and since Newark, NJ does same day Oath Ceremony, the Certificate of Naturalization was issued on the same day.  The i-751 portion took about 5 mins: we were not separated and the officer asked the following in the following order:

    * to the US citizen spouse: what is your spouse's full name and date of birth?

                                                    when did you get married?

how did you meet your spouse?

    * to the applicant: what is your spouse's full name and date of birth?

We took a lot of additional evidence but was never asked to produce any of it.  We believe that it is probably because when giving the officer the original documents (birth certificates, green card, marriage certificate, first child's birth certificate etc), we also handed him the hospital birth records for the birth of our second child less than a month ago.

The N400 portion was about 15 mins, and straightforward: the 50 Yes/No questions that are in the application, 6 civics questions and confirming/signing of documents.

Good luck to all!   See timeline in signature below for details.

    Thank you! Really appreciate it!!

Congrats!  Even if you do not hear about the i-751 or it is not mentioned in your N400 letter, be prepared for a combo interview where spouse must be present as well.  I see you are at the Newark, NJ office (same as in my case) and our interview was a combo interview although they gave us no heads up about it :)

Hey! Do you mind sharing how your interview went?

I apologize I could not delete the message I was careless I could not delete while writing 😀 I don't know how will I find out the local office? Is it writing in the incoming form?

Your local office depends on your current address. Whichever state you are in has local offices. For instance, I am from NY/NJ area and my local office is the same.

hi everyone ... I started racing for the second time

    July 23 2021 ,  I 751 form submitted ,
    July 29 2021 , uscis delivered

May 18 2021 , I received a text message from uscis and it was out of my payment account the same day

    May 20 2021, I received a 797c

I hope the MSC will be fast , Does MSC usually interview?

Did you mean 2020 instead of 2021?

Thanks! I will try again in a few weeks and hope to get a more helpful agent.

Good luck!! Where is your local office? Some other MSC filer from NY/NJ area had applied a week before me (Jun 4th 2020) and got biometrics on May 21st without any call so it could be possible they were in line for our application and the tier 2 call could be just a coincidence.

What did you say to tier 2 for him to agree to schedule the biometrics appointment? The tier 2 agent I talked to didn’t care and just said to continue waiting.

Didn't say anything, picked up the call and he immediately said he's calling from USCIS and is calling to schedule biometrics. He proceeded to ask general COVID questions before he can schedule it (have you been exposed to COVID etc etc) and then said he is scheduling on May 24th.

  7. Just received Biometrics Appt set for May 24th. Local office is NJ/NY.

I am not sure if my request to speak with the second tier officer did the trick. I spoke with an agent on April 22nd asking for an update on my application and she gave me the usual generic answer. I requested to speak with tier 2 officer regarding this. She warned that they won't be of much help but proceeded to put a request through. Got a call on April 28th from tier 2 officer saying he is calling to schedule biometrics appointment. I am sure it hadn't been scheduled until he called because he specifically said he is calling to schedule. Although he said I should receive email confirmation about it, never received it. Called again the next day to USCIS toll free in order to confirm if the appointment was really scheduled. The agent said that it was scheduled but the letter had not been mailed yet and asked me to wait a week to receive the letter or call back. Got the letter in my mail yesterday.

For those of you waiting for biometrics in NY/NJ area try calling the agent and asking for tier 2 officer. It could be of some help.

    Hello Folks!

Our case is at MSC & now ready to be scheduled for interview. My biometrics appointment was on 12/08/2020 and there was no change till early this week. Updated my timeline. There is still hope! 🙂

Request everyone to please post updates to their timelines.

Any idea how long it would take for the interview to be actually scheduled and what is the heads up time we get to attend the interview? I am currently out of US & have to plan my travel back to attend the interview.

    Cheers!

Could you please add where ur local office was for biometrics? I’m MSC June 2020 Filer from NY/NJ area and we got nothing other than NOA extension letter. And yes, I have called but they can’t tell me when the papers will move.

Hello! What number did you call to get a status update? My case has been stuck at ready to schedule an interview since Oct 21, 2020. Filed Jan 2020.

the usual toll free number for USCIS:

    1 (800) 375-5283

try saying technical problem or schedule infopass to get through to a normal human in tier 1.

What's your local office? I know someone from NY/NJ who has been waiting for interview longer than yours. they filed Jun2019 and are MSC as well.

July 2019 filer with MSC number.  Waited 560 days for interview that never took place.   Just received "Case was approved" for the I-751 ROC.  How many days after this notice do folks receive the green card?  Any idea?

Hey! Congratulations! What was your local office? Hoping they do this for the tristate area too because it's been a little less than 1 year and we haven't gotten our biometrics yet (Jun2020 MSC filer). Contacted tier 1 and they said its still waiting on the pipeline for scheduling.

Oh! That makes sense now as to why it's taking so long for them. I guess you should just sit back and relax then lol. I'm guessing your green card is probably expired?

I just noticed you're from Mumbai too lol.

    Thanks!!! ❤️

The extension letter is until next year. The interview was in Mumbai so it says that I guess. I am not from Mumbai 😁

    Hey!!

Thank you so much!! :) We went to the Hoover office here in Tampa, Florida. The officer lady took my picture and my fingerprints during the interview.

Did you not get any biometrics done after you filed? I thought usually they got that done after a month or two of filing. But again with everything happening it could have been delayed. Maybe you should give them a call and ask?

Thanks for the reply! I applied during pandemic peak so haven't received anything regarding biometrics yet. Called them last week and a nice lady in tier one said that it says waiting to be scheduled. She couldn't tell when, how, where but it was in line for schedule. So no idea what's happening. I'm just snooping through all forums to see if anyone got their interview/biometrics from ny/nj area 😝
