Our NVC status changed to "Ready" and it still will not let me schedule. I keep getting the same message :(

Ughhhh I'm going to have a stroke with this process!

did you submit the DS160? if not, submit.

    if so, try again tomorrow

you went from in transit to ready, fast.

maybe they did not fully enter you into the system.

you can email the embassy too, the link is in those pages.

I sent them an email when i couldn't get in the first day ...

I don't know if they did anything, but I was in the next day.

Anyway...don't get frustrated, they will have us all stacked up to interview.....

    Tried to schedule.

    We got: "

The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. If you have not received an appointment letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), you can check the status of your IV case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc.html."

ITS okay...its the reply confirmation email...i received same.

In a day or two you will be able to access.

He could have registered under "has a letter for interview" or "none of the above" - he will get a confirmation email which says what you stated.

He can go back in as "continue"  - he should be able to add himself into the "VISA group"  - he adds himself under "schedule a K-visa interview"

then he can access pay and schedule...

be sure he tried to go back and" continue"...after his initial registration and confirmation email.

I'm not sure at what point the gate "opens"

try every day to continue until he can add himself and schedule the k-interview.

(spoken from memory - but mostly correct....rsrsrs)

I assume you have not received "The Letter". I'm about to book my flight, hotel. Do you think we even need it? Medical scheduled for next week, interview is scheduled.

I don't think the embassy is sending a letter - despite the fact that some in the recent past have received one.

We will see if one comes - or if someone here receives it....

Soon i will be irrelevant if not already....

  4. if you live in Rio, I guess its wont be hard to negotiate these appointments.

We are passing around this doctor exam appointment date, waiting for them to accept, and then to followup with the xray appointment.

We are tying to figure out our logistics for Rio - maybe making 2 trips....being that this process will span a weekend.

Go in for medical, then back in for interview.

Not really wanting to spend 6 days in Rio....

In some small way...it's a rather annoying process to negotiate....

One doctor, one city - 4 day processing protocol.....

enough already....tired of jumping through hoops.

I'm leaving Friday for Brasil...I'm grateful things have timed such that I can make this Rio interview during

the trip which was planned in December - we got real lucky.

But, we're both tired...this Rio interview hopefully is the last hurdle to negotiate.

Best of luck to us all - see you in Rio.

(appointments are not required for the blood and urine testing - just travel to a different office)

Hey all - another question ..

How do I know the exact date I was assigned my NVC # without calling them and asking lol.  the CEAC status website just says "At NVC"  and the rep never gave me the date my case was assigned a number.. she just gave me the number... because I was so sleep deprived from being up all night with my sister in labor, I didn't think to ask  as I was so satisfied with just getting a number!    I can call if I need to , to get this date, but I wanted to try to avoid that... also, I still haven't received anything by mail OR email saying that my case is a) sent to NVC / b) arrived at NVC  c) assigned a number.... is this normal?   I only have info from calling....   <3

haha, yes...not receiving anything is normal.

you really dont need the date the case number was assigned.

just watch status to change to In Transit - took mine 10 days to move out of NVC...once it goes IN TRANSIT - you can begin the DS160 and schedules... you may even be able to do DS160 now and save.

Day 26 after NOA-2 and still waiting( When we just got NOA-2 process in NVC went so fast. And I really thought that we got case number fast too. But no news here😭 Today on my Russian speakers forum read about one couple who moved from NVC Recieved to VOH for 15 days!

After waiting NOA-2 this 26 days is not a big deal...but at the same time it's like an eternity😔

I waited 22 days to go from NOA2 to NVC received + 9 days to get a case number.

It makes me feel better that we're all in the situation, and that the doctor (from what I was told) seems to be prompt about responding to e-mail and scheduling appointments. So I'm sure they'll get it all sorted out soon. Hopefully we hear something this week.

I think that's the most stressful mini-vacation I've ever heard of

    haha, yeah.

Doctor responded with email, right before lunch and has 4 worksheets attached with information and lead-time for xray, etc.

They will only respond by email - I think you have to return a form to schedule - I did not read all of it, yet (in Portuguese)

I think it says that blood and vaccines are no longer necessary - vaccines can be taken in the States.

Some of you already have fiance in Rio

For those traveling into Rio - I understand it can be dangerous right now....its not a good time.

I understand it is better to take a hotel near the doctor in Leblon....stay out of center city (where embassy is)

Also to be careful when traveling - bandits on the road.

We will be traveling 4.5 hours by bus, through Taubate - then on to Rio.

My fiance is from SP - she is very worried about the whole Rio trip.

Everyone be careful and be street smart.

Try to have some fail-safes in place.

Hey guys would anyone happen to know if its a good idea to fill out TWO affidavits for support?    I didn't know if there is a limit. my parents will fill one out because they have much high income ( my wages exceed the requirement but my job is temporary and may actually end soon).   Should I still fill one out since I am working right now in addition to the one my folks fill out. ?  thanks :-)

I think it's good to have both, ready and available.

Also waiting on an appointment. My fiance emailed them Friday and called today and he was told that they'll get to the e-mails, they've just apparently been hit with a lot of them recently. They'll get it sorted out though.

Yeah, they have several to sort now for the March 6 date.

We will all be there the week before running between the doctor and the clinic.

Waiting to hear what days this will happen.

We are sorting our logistics between Campos and Rio - our new mini-vacation, hahaha

    Success. 6 March

Thanks to our fellow Brazilians!! Perhaps we will meet

I'm sure we will meet - the time slots are close together.

I believe we will be staying in Rio, a day or two before the weekend and over the weekend.

Assuming the doctor will be stacking us all to process in the few days before the 6th.

We sent doc an email....waiting to hear on the appointment..

This is what my fiancé said:

    F79B6E45-FA0A-4F47-9178-ACAA8B969358.jpeg

We now have the same March 6 interview date.

    I figured out the problem.

After registration - she added herself into the "visa group"  but did not select the option "register a K-VISA interview."

Once deleting and adding again as a K-Interview - the payment and appointment became available.

    If I recall - only 3 days in march are offered.  6, 27 and I think 28

thanks for the help and for posting - because had he not been successful, I guess we would still be waiting for an embassy letter or embassy READY.

Now Brasil knows what to do...Rs

    We get to same place....

She picked a location in SP to pick up visa....I think this is why she can't pick a Rio embassy date.

I may try to change pickup location and see if I can schedule.

    Thank you.

    No, thats not it.

delivery location does not make a difference.

It says to schedule an interview but the calendar dates are grey - cant select any.

I sent an email to the embassy - lets see what they say.

Just an FYI to all the Brazil people in transit to the embassy: My fiance was able to set an interview date already. Our case has been 'in transit' since the 14th, but I saw a post here about some people being able to already schedule interview and medicals, so I urged my fiance to do it. And he could. He has his interview on March 6. Still waiting to get a date for the medical.

He registered and scheduled on the green page (immigrant) side of the site?

We cant pay, no action tab.....

or get an active calendar - all grey

    curious?

yes, I was just coming on to tell you we can do this.

good.  you are on your way!

do you think they still have march dates open?

I hope so, because I will be in Country.

Now, my girl is reading from people who have just been approved that,

we can do more while it is "in transit" - but it may be hit or miss...

we will go onto the VISA appointment site and register and try to register a VISA appointment -

she is being told by others that we will NOT receive an embassy letter - as some of these confirmation emails are suggesting

I'm not sure how Brasil is working, but we are going to try to get an appointment....

    We submitted our DS-160 :)

I'm not even actually sure how we were able to given that our case is not at the embassy yet.

I might have jumped the gun.

Nah, its the only thing you can do.

Ours is done, ready to hit submit.

I will be in Campos next week.  We are still in Transit...few days now.

I'm wishing on a little luck that we can go READY in the next few days and we can catch an interview date before March 9.

I have no idea of the embassy schedule but time is closing fast.

    Anyway...it's Brasil.

    We will wait...rsrsrs

Hey so, I called this morning, and although they asked for my and my fiance's name and birthday, they still didn't have a case number for us. Fast forward to 1:17 pm, where I got 2 emails from the NVC

The first one said that that the NVC was going to forward our petition to the Rio Embassy (yay!), and the second one saying that the Rio Embassy approved our request for expedited processing of our immigrant visa application. The second email threw me off because obviously I didn't request it, but I suppose the NVC did, based on the receive date and length of time it was there.

And just to think, this morning when I called I was so dejected at the prospect of having to wait even longer for our case to get entered and to get a case number. These e-mails turned my day around. Guys with the same/similar received date, don't despair! Let them know (if they don't bring it up) that you want your case looked at by a supervisor. When I said I wanted it, that seemed to do the trick. Also call every day!

Now on to the next step (finally!)

i received the same two emails.

I have expedited processing, too. and I never asked for it...hahaha

you have a case number - you're good to go!
