I'm going to cry lol...I cannot for the life of me figure out how to compress the pdf files to upload for CEAC. The I-864 is 10MB and it has to be 2MB to upload. I've tried the free sites and they only reduce them a little bit. How the heck do I do this!! I have to compress everything. I thought I could get this all done tonight and I'm just stuck...I want to scream!

my i864ez is .5mb in pdf. why is urs 10 mb seems big

As I understand the NVC now changing the process time for creating the case is 8 weeks instead of 2 weeks (it means after 8 weeks it will consider out of normal process time and sent to their NO HELP SUPERVISOR). I lost all of my hope from them.

yeah so total time is 8 weeks. once they receive it, they send to supervisor 2 weeks later, then after that they have 6 weeks to get case #. im not sure what happens after 8 weeks so lets see.....

After it passes 8 weeks then they will say “I will send your case for supervisor review and it takes up to 6 weeks for him to review it.” :(((((( I’m waiting for my case number too. I call everyday with no hope

they sent my case to supervisor already (feb 12, 2 weeks after receiving). so i think the time line is once they receive it, they send to supervisor 2 weeks later. then supervisor has 6 weeks. so total 8 weeks. not sure what happens after that.

I called the NVC today and was told that the 6 week clock was reset the second time my case was sent to a supervisor. Was anyone else told the same thing? That seems absurd to me.

called now still no case #. asked if i could talk to someone who can provide more info but they said thats all the info they have. they said they have 8 weeks to assign case # which will be next thursday. i asked what happens when 8 weeks past, he said call us lol

NVC is now open, but "due to the large number of calls we are receiving, all customer service agents are busy assisting other callers."

They do suggest we "go to their website to review answers to frequently asked questions," however I'm not seeing an answer as to why it's taken over a month for a case number to be assigned to our case..

lol they will say we have too many cases, or the weather, or systems were down etc etc etc

We sent a request as well to AskNVC yesterday so I will await their reply. Based on what they told you, I think we will have to wait 2-3 more weeks for our case number.

i got my reply for my asknvc inquiry yesterday after waiting 2 weeks i think and it basically said to wait 4-5 weeks for case number. i posted their email sometime yesterday here if u want to see....

Thanks, our case with supervisor from February 9. Don’t think it changes much)) About pivot case or not I don’t know. I asked them once, operator answered I will know from welcome letter. People here saying pivot cases taking longer for number, so mine must be pivot as well. I’m curious is pivot case gives any benefits in processing or it just takes longer for case#?

I THINK case # takes longer but rest is shorter...

I’m so tired to wait for this case#. NVC received our case on January 24 and for me hard to believe it’s taking them so long. I was talking to supervisor, but she was mostly just yelling at me. Everyone saying we should have it this Monday, but I don’t understand the reason why exactly this Monday and not a previous one. Also thing which scares me what to do if we won’t have case# on Monday.

we almost have same time since they received mine 1/25. i will keep u updated. i called yesterday and no case # so left # for supervisor to call me back. it went to supervisor feb 12 and im pivot case.

I’m not sure how you guys know if it’s a pivot case or not. My understanding we will know about that only in welcome letter. We didn’t pick embassy yet, it’s about 5 of them in a country so when time comes I guess we just pick one with shorter waiting time. I saw some people from this forum getting numbers for their pivot cases in 3 weeks so I don’t know if it’s really affecting case number.

hm i think our country has 1 so we know its going there therefore pivot

I gave them a call but they're so busy. A recording said to call again later.

I hope its not just customer service working tonight but also the agents that assign case #'s

I read that it's not required so i didn't get one. I asked someone who is from Pakistan and they have been scheduled their interview and they didn't send a police certificate and the embassy didn't ask for it either.

interesting my sis in law got it 2 years ago so we did too...

Ugh, that's a bummer. Thanks for your answer!

yeah i wish someone told me this before i filed as separate. i spoke with so many tax professionals and told them what i was gonna do and nobody mentioned u cant do that and i did lots of research online too. but at the same time, getting itin is hard because u need original documents and my spouse will need passport for her interview or will delay it even more.
