Nobody is asked definitions.
No need to memorize dates you were in/ out of the country.
Nobody can tell you exactly what will be asked. Some are done in 3 minutes, others take longer
Is spouse birth certificate required or will US passport suffice?
Thanks!

Sometimes IO asks for certificate of natiralization or birth certificate for US citizen. Passport is not always enough to prove US birth.
Are you applying under 3 or 5 year rule? If former, then make sure to bring your US citizen spouse in case if USCIS want to interview him. Also remember all key dates and be ready to answer questions about your marital life.
That's a real bummer cause the BC is lost so we figured the US passport was sufficient.
Applying under 3 year rule, spouse will be peesent.
Can you advise about vocabulary definition questions please?

Hi all,
I have my N400 interview in two weeks. Can someone please help me with the questions that will be asked and what documents I have to bring?
I am studying for the 2008 test as I originally applied for N400 in October 2022. I am also studying my N400 application to make sure there aren't any contradictions. Also memorizing dates for when I left the country.
I have seen on a vlog on YouTube that some applicants were asked vocabulary questions such as definitions of oath, genocide, separated, guerilla group, gambling, etc. Is this true? If so what is the source of this study material? How come I haven't seen this elsewhere?
The documents that I intend to bring:
My passport
Green card
State ID
Spouse passport (for proof of US birth)
Wedding Certificate
Child Birth certificate
Tax transcripts
Bank statements
Joint insurance document
Am I missing anything else? Thanks!

Hey thanks for the response. How long does this process take? I'm considering flying in October and wondering if I should purchase the ticket.

Get I-551 stamp in your passport (whoever is waiting for the green card)
Can you advise what the process and timeliness for this is? Thanks!

Hi all,
We applied for I751 in July 2020 and the extension letter for our green card expires end of September.
What are we required to do and what are our options?
We intend on traveling internationally in October and don't want this to be an issue.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Can one fly into the US with the ADIT stamp if the renewal letter expiration has passed?

Thank you! Yes YSC and they just told me my ‘’card was mailed to me’’. Now the wait for naturalization begins.
Did they do your interview already or was that eventually skipped ?

@Jay5021 You can apply for citizenship if you're eligible, even with pending I-751. It's perfectly legal.
You can travel outside of the country, just need to get a I-551 stamp if your extension letter expired / about to expire.
How can one get the I-551 stamp?
Thanks!

July 2020 filer still waiting. I've been trying to schedule an infopass appointment, but no luck so far.
What happens if the 24 months extension letter expires and I still don't get the stamp in my passport or hear about the new card?
What is an InfoPath appointment?
I have the same question regarding the 24 month extension. I'm looking to fly by the 25th month.

Whether or not you get a removal of conditions interview depends a lot on how you got your green card.
If you got a green card through consular processing when you arrived in the USA (CR1 visa) then you are extremely likely to get an interview. You were interviewed at a USA consulate by the state department not USCIS.
If you got your green card through the adjustment of status process in the USA then you are not likely to be interviewed. You and your spouse were interviewed by USCIS already. I think this is the majority of cases so a majority of i751 cases gon’t get interviewed by USCIS.
If there are issues with your case then yes you will be scheduled for an interview but I think those interviews are rare.
That makes a lot of sense. We have a CR1 visa so that could be the reason. Good to know. Thank you for sharing

we don’t have kids yet, don’t know if that was the reason we go selected because we had an AOS interview also.Hello! Hope your interview went well! Do you mind sharing what they asked of you in the interview? Is the petitioner allowed in the interview with the permanent resident card holder?
Thank you

Our case is ready to be interviewed. Has anyone else been selected for interview? Most of the people I see here got an approval without the need for an interview. Any specific reason why we might have been selected and if anyone has given an interview already any advice and tips would be appreciated !

Yes. CBP provides airlines a Guide and the Guide clearly says you can travel to the US: https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf
But you'll also need a negative Covid-19 test before you come back: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/fr-proof-negative-test.html
Thanks a lot! One more question, on the CBP website it states the following:
"Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551
accompanied by Form I-797, Notice of Action
indicating the card validity is extended"What is Form I-551? Is that the conditional resident card?
Thank you!

Hello guys.
I have submitted my biometrics over 3 weeks ago. I am considering flying overseas. Will this be a bad idea? Can I return with my expired GC with the letter of extension?
-
Hello all,
Tomorrow is our appointment for biometric. Is there anything we need to bring besides the usual passport, card, social?
Thank you!

You are not the only one stuck. A lot of us have not received anything past "Case was Received" updates.
Same here. No update beyond that.

Hi everyone.
I filed I-751 in July and the case status says it was recieved on July 28th. Since then, nothing has happened. My service center is Potomac (YSC). I thought they'd be faster than other service centers, but guess I was wrong and am getting anxious. Is anybody else in the same/similar situation?
Hello.
My case was received on July 16 at the MSC center. Like you I haven't had any update since then. Anyone else in the same boat?

So here is the latest from me:
7/13/20 - Application mailed
7/17/20 - Application received
7/23/20 - Check was cashed
7/24/20 - Text/Mail notification
8/01/20 - Received NOA
A couple of questions regarding the I-797:
- is the petitioner and beneficiary name supposed to be the same? Mine is.
- is there supposed to be a priority date? Mine is blank.
- mushroomspore and shkabaan

I haven't received that letter either and like you I moved, but in July 2019.
I was able to find the email they sent me after I changed my address and added it to my package so they know I did fill the AR-11 form,
I'm waiting on my NOA so I guess if I have nothing by August 7th I'll know if my address change was taking into account or not...
Thanks for the response. If you can be so kind and tell me the subject of that email thatll be great! That way I can search for that specific text.
I'm considering calling USCIS as well since I read that filling the AR-11 form doesn't always work with address changes.

Hi guys.
Did anyone receive a letter in the mail stating that their green card will expire soon and the need to renew?
I am asking because I didn't. We moved in September 2019 and I filed for my address change using the online AR-11 tool. I specifically remember getting a notification that my request was submitted but never heard anything after, such as a confirmation email/mail. And now I cannot find the request submitted email either.
So, should I be concerned about it? I believe I should call USCIS to verify the address they have on file for me. Any help will be appreciated!
For what its worth, I already submitted by I-751, waiting on confirmation email/text.

Hey folks,
How did you guys mail your documents over; USPS or UPS/FedEx?
I mailed it using USPS to the PO Box that is provided. And now it is awaiting pickup. Anyone have any idea how long till it is picked up?

Hello guys,
For the signature on the form, does it have to be within the squared box? Or can it spill out of it?

Yes I've already ordered a replacement but it won't be arriving on time.
I hope so. In the n400 application I submitted passport as proof of citizenship. Hope it suffices here too.
