If you don’t mind me asking what evidence did you provide for domicile

For domicile we did US bank account/ investment account and money transfer from Egypt to the USA. My fiancé’s parents house information as a place for us to live till we find our own. I think that’s it we don’t have jobs there yet as we’re living in Egypt.

  2. Hi guys,

We had the interview in September 18th and the officer requested additional information. From me the petitioner she asked for proof that I’m not married which is a legal document we have in Egypt. I had already gotten this document and included it in the package of document sent to the embassy prior to the interview. Despite it being valid for 3 moths and clearly stating that I’ve never been married, she requested another one dated after the interview. She also requested proof of domicile in the US from my fiancé because he lives with me in Egypt.  We asked if this means we are on AP, she said no and that I don’t have to go back for another interview.

We prepared these documents and sent them along with my passport to the embassy the next day.  It’s been 2 weeks now and we haven’t heard anything only that my file is still with the officer via email after several email requests for and update of the case status.

Has anyone experienced something like that?

The embassy here is not supportive or helpful. Can anyone recommend next steps, is there anyone we can contact, senators or congressmen, and when do you think we should start that process?
  3. Can someone please clarify question #38 page 4 of the I-134 Affidavit of Support? It asks if the sponsor intends to make “specific contributions” i.e. a specific amount of money over a specific time period or money for a specific item. In the case of a finance application there won’t be any “specific” contributions but rather any and all necessary financial contributions. In this case how should the question be answered?

  4. Hello, i have a question regarding the affidavit of support form I-134. In page 4 part 38

I (intend-do not intend ) to make sp cifoc contributions to the support of the person bamed in part 2.

now I’m confused because of the word specific especially they said after

( if you select intend indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intes to make in part 7)

so i’m the sponsor and i will of course not have a job in the US and my fiance will support me but I’m not sure if we have to add the ammount of money he will be helping me with monthly and for how long?

    Anyone can help?

Yes, the American fiancé can attend the interview, I did.  If you want to start getting vaccinations, you can.  Just don't be in a rush to start a medical exam or anything.  If you want to save money, wait until you are more sure you are going to be coming to the USA before paying for vaccinations.  If your fiancé lives in Cairo, why don't you get married in Egypt and apply for the CR1?  I'm just curious.    I really think that me attending the interview with my fiancé helped.  The interviewer asked both of us questions separately.  I think that if I had not gone, he may have been refused even though there were no red flags.  I think the interviewers are good at reading body language and facial expressions and can tell when people are being sincere.  And, if both people are telling the same story but from their own perspective, it helps.  I think it makes the interviewer happy to see both people happy when they say you got accepted.  He interviewed my fiancé first and then called me in to talk to me.  He was very nice and it felt like a conversation rather than him interviewing me.  When he said he was giving my fiancé the visa, I started to cry, I was so happy.  They are just people.  Don't be nervous and scared.  Do your research and get your paperwork right and if you are in a real relationship for the right reasons, you should be fine.  I think most people get denied over paperwork errors.

Thank you for your help, we can't get married here in Egypt because we don't share the same religion (if the woman is muslim the guy can't be anything else) and there is no civil marriage here. Just a question about you going to the interview, did you just show up or how did you inform them?

  8. Hey everyone,

My fiancé and I applied for the K1 visa in December and still waiting for the NOA2, he currently lives with me in Egypt but he's planning on moving back to the US in June and wait for me there till I get my visa and meet him there, he's going to quit his job in Cairo and start his own business but it will take time of course till he starts making money again.

will this be a problem? does he have to have enough money for both of us for 5 years? because we don't have that now!

I'm not sure I found enough information covering this topic can you help me :)
