Your wife will not go and stand in line with you? I think she should. Also it looks very fishy if she goes to the other line and you go to the other. If they ask you or ask her if you/she travelling alone and you/she lies, you can be denied entry on the spot. Be honest if asked and go together with your wife. There is nothing wrong with going to your country to get married and go back to finish your work.

I did it in the main passport office in Washington DC in two days. I had intl travel coming up and my passport was running out of pages. I think I had only 1 side of the page blank and that can also create a lot of problems at some countries. I've made the appointment within 7 days of travel, went to the passport office in DC to drop off my old passport and to pay the fees. Picked it up the next day. I'm pretty sure you have the same options in NYC. Good luck.

In my opinion from what I've read in here. It would be 1 in a million for 2 single Colombian men to get any kind of visa to US, be it B or C visa. You are saying that the flights from Cali to PVR are expensive? Pretty much every day in May the price is around $400. For flights Cali to PTY to SFO to PVR to Cali is pretty much $1100 and up https://www.google.com/travel/flights/s/LETo2mwPmv7cXHCq9 Meet with them at PTY and arrive at PVR on the same flight. Problem solved.

K-1 visa (not permanent resident) or tourist
Thunderbolt replied to barcman's topic in Tourist Visas
Complicated for US to marry Thai national (or other nationals). Unless they live in Bangkok or Chang Mai then there is less inconvenience and 'paperwork' to do. -
Plan for your interview to be in February not June. My wife's N400 took 4 months from the time we applied to certificate in hand. The passport with the expedited fee took 2 weeks. If I were you, I wouldn't plan any trips outside of US for now. Vacations can wait. Finish your process and then enjoy the fruits

Oath ceremony schedule ETA
Thunderbolt replied to bramerica's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
My wife had interview on October 3rd and the letter for the interview came middle of November (about 6 weeks after the interview). I actually checked the online status first and saw it there. The letter came few days later. -
RFE for I-90
Thunderbolt replied to Olga88's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
I also wouldn't touch it if it was just a hyphen. As long as you have properly spelled first name and both last names. Now the worms are out of the can... -
For us it took 4 months and 2 days from the time we've sent the application to the oath ceremony.

citizenship application

As they've said above, 3 years - 90 days which would put you at November 11 2023. -
Failure to stop for a school bus in NY
Thunderbolt replied to Kudos's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
From the little reading that I've done about NYS and school buses - Looks like they can have cameras but not necessarily. In the worst case you can get $400 ticket and 5 points on your license (then your insurance will go up). If you don't get anything in the mail in the next 90 days you'll be fine. It will not have effect on your LPR status. It is waste of money Live and learn. Effective August 19, 2019, school districts and municipalities are authorized to use stop-arm cameras on school buses. As New York Vehicle and Traffic Law section 1174(c) explains, anyone who is convicted of a violation of the laws requiring motorists to stop for school buses could be fined. The fine for a fist conviction is a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $400. A motorist will also get five points on his or her driver’s license. Accumulating 11 points or more during a single 18-month period can result in a motorist having his or her license to drive suspended. Five points is a substantial number of points for a motorist. If a motorist commits a third offense of failing to stop for a school bus, however, he doesn’t even have to acquire 11 points on his record to lose his license. A third offense results in the mandatory revocation of the motorist’s license to drive a car. The record of unlawfully failing to stop for a school bus will also make it impossible to get any job that requires a clean driving record and will send auto insurance rates skyrocketing for most motorists who are convicted of this violation. -

fiance k-1 fiancé visa? Question need help
Thunderbolt replied to SLOP21's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Let's say K-1 is faster by 3 to 6 months. Then think about the headache and more cost after the fiancé arrives in US. AOS ROC If people can get married, why some of them still do K1? -
My family flies a lot with Lufthansa with their yorke dog in a carrier under the seat. I think it cost either $150 or $250 one way. The only restriction Lufthansa has is that there is only 1 animal per cabin. In other words there can be 1 animal in fist class, 1 animal in business class, 1 animal in premium economy and 1 animal in economy class. (that's for TATL flights). On a recent flight, my family member had to upgrade themselves to premium economy class as there was already animal in economy class and they wouldn't allowed her dog on that flight. Also, every time they have to call Lufthansa after booking the ticket online to confirm the dog on a flight and pay for it.

N-400 August 2023 Filers
Thunderbolt replied to stephbd's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
We had the same thing I751 and N400. Applied 2 months and 1 week early (instead of the 90 allowable days). Our status was showing 8 months, then all of a sudden we got the notification for interview. Did the interview and the status changed that it needs to be approved (both cases). The status changed to 7 months wait... Then exactly 1 month after the interview we've got the oath ceremony schedule. All in all it took 4 months from the time we filed the form to the oath ceremony. When I did my citizenship back 20 years ago it took 13 or 14 months from the time I filed the form to my oath. This is good news that things are speeding up. -
N-400 August 2023 Filers
Thunderbolt replied to stephbd's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Thank you for the detailed info. We are not in the courthouse but rather at the DHS office (the same place where my wife had her interview). If the letter says 7:15am I hope that's when the ceremony starts We are about 20-30 minutes away from that place. Anyway, we are excited and very happy for the journey to finally finish -
N-400 August 2023 Filers
Thunderbolt replied to stephbd's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
May I ask how long was the actual ceremony from entering the building to going back home? Ours is scheduled for 7:15am and we have a flight at 1pm that day. I'm just wondering if I should move the flight to the later one just in case. Thanks and congratulations! -

We just did and they scheduled the ceremony for December 2nd. Feeling better after completing this long journey (started in 2018)
