Just called NVC. Pivot case received January 31st and still no case number...however, this nice lady I spoke to just now gave me the invoice number and said they are doing some final checks now. Hopefully by this week, I can get moving with the NVC process.

NOA2 was sent to NVC Feb 8th....going on 8 weeks almost. I'm a pivot case, any other pivots get approved? or on the next steps?

I ageee with all your pros. Some of your cons are ALSO my pros! Where I come from we don’t have mass shootings, but we have more homeless, a fair share of religious wackos though not as influential, much worse inequality, much poorer kids hungry at terrible schools, some of which have people stealing the money intended to feed the kids, and some of which still have pit latrines that kids occasionally drown in (and you still have to pay fees even at public schools!), a political climate that has made the US look a bastion of sanity (thankfully things at home seem to be turning up), women’s rights protected in theory but shocking in practice (eg policemen telling battered women they must have upset their husbands to get hit, go home), much stricter gun requirements but many more illegal guns and a much higher gun violence and death rate (including car hijacks being a way of life, and everyone who can afford it has electric fences and private security and everyone who can’t is vulnerable, including a shockingly high rape incidence), healthcare that is first world if you have private insurance and shockingly bad if you have to rely on the public health system. They do have workers rights! One thing on the cons list. Like i said... it’s all relative.

My parents moved to the country for better opportunities. My dad.. one of those guys... "I came here with 50 dollars in my pocket". He paid good portion of my education and majority of my brothers. My parents now own a home with 2 cars, they do not live pay check to pay check. They have money they save up. They are not rich, but comfortable in their own way. Considering the conditions what might have been. Most people immigrate to America because of luxury. No matter how comfortable you may be in most parts of the world, U.S has products and conditions that are 1 step up.
 
- If you are looking for my version of it. I coatailed my father. Trying to one up him by finishing my degree... going for my MBA program. I work in a decent work environment, saving money to buy our own house. Waiting for the wifey to come over first of course. Then continue on a path to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Now if you are asking about my pursuit of happiness... well, that's a whole new level of questioning lol.

I got my NOA 2 late January. They still have not provided me with tracking number of anything. BTW- NVC received my mail Feb 7th. I have been calling once a week just to be told you will get your welcome letter in a couple of weeks. Has anyone received next steps? or got the welcome email to continue the process? It has been a month and some now... frustrating process as you all know....

We had all of our documents translated & they put their official stamp on them...but they don't have to be notarized. You can translate them yourself but I believe you have to provide a short statement saying you are qualified to do it. I'm sure someone on here can help with the wording.
i just finished uploading our documents last week...so hopefully we'll get a case complete in the next few weeks!

Hello! I'm also petitioning for my husband who is in Turkey. A pivot case means that you will do the entire NVC process online, you won't have to mail anything in...you'll upload everything to the CEAC site.
you should get your case & invoice number soon. First you'll pay the IV & AOS fees. Then form ds260 will open up & you'll fill that out online. I would look at a sample so you know what info you might need. Then you'll upload your wife's civil documents...passport bio page, birth certificate (we did the formul A & another kind of birth certificate cuz we weren't sure which one they'd want from Turkey), a police clearance certificate (from Turkey and any other country she lived in for more than 6 months). Your marriage certificate as well. Plus English translations if any form is in Turkish. Then you'll upload all of the AOS docs. Form I-864, tax transcripts, etc.
 
eta: and her military record from Turkey if she served

( PIVOT ) It's uploading the documents online to CEAC system, NO MAILING TO NVC,  So stay calm and start gathering documents. it's few countries who have pivot system, like Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, China...

Well, keep trying untill you get it, this phase is based on that!
I hope you go thru NVC really fast!

Hahahah, I had no idea. I guess I'll keep calling. it has been 6 weeks. I am also seeing some approvals in January, so hopefully something soon!
