Nvc received my case today and assigned my case number today!!! Soooo happy 😊 a day short of 5 weeks!! 

We got the NOA2 and I called the NVC 10 days later for the case number, filled out the DS-160 and scheduled the appt immediately! All within a few days of NOA2. The process is simple in Bogotá bc you get to schedule your own interview!

Yes they can. I call every day. They only ask for your WAC number and if the case number is not there they just say it's not there. If it though, they will ask for your name, your date of birth, your fiance's name and his/her birth date.

Oh I'm sorry. Hmm yes definitely try calling the embassy/consulate where you are now and see if they can do it. They should be able to.

Hello. Fortunately for me, the headquarters is located near my workplace so I stepped in there in-person and finished it off, I got the background check about 2 weeks later. hi yall my interview was today at paris embassy and it went well thank God my visa was approved. i just need to give them my original birth certificate and police report from senegal cause they dont accept copies

That's probably me! Finally approved after 190 days.

I know it will all fall into place eventually.. We were  so excited to receive Noa2  with no RFE , it's just so frustrating to have to go through same waiting process again.. I guess we got our hopes up as we thought this stage was meant to be the quick part.. it's scary to read some people can be in AP for months ...but still trying to be positive 😅 Thank you 😀

Guys, had my interview this morning in rio de janeiro, it was quick, easy and painless lol visa approved!!!!!

We finally got our NVC number today!!! Day 28 since NOA2!!!

Yep.  They have held visas after the interview until the paperwork is submitted.  Try the India's Embassy or consulate in your city.  There may be some lead time on that so do it ASAP.

Question - You know how they require "a police certificate from every country where he/she resided for at least 6 months after the age of 16." is this serious stuff? I studied in India for a period of 4 years.. do I really have to get certificates from them? And how?
 
I am a canadian born who was there for just 4 years.

Hey y'all! So, I received an update on the tracker that we were approved on the 27th. We also appeared on Shoegum's scan that day. But, our notice says we were approved on the 26th, so I guess there is a bit of a delay electronically! Lots of you waiting could have already been approved and just don't know it yet!

Once you get the NOA2 approval start filing out the DS-160 form and start calling NVC for a case number. I got mine 2 weeks from my NOA2 date. When you get your MTL case number, start checking your visa status under immigrant visas: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV
 
Your case will turn to 'ready' and you can begin emailing MTL with Packet 3. Packet 3 link: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/. MTL will accept your Packet 3 and email you back Packet 4 to schedule the medical and interview. This part seems to work differently for everyone, some will get Packet 3 in the mail and others won't receive anything. My case was 'ready' on Oct 24 and I've already emailed Packet 3 three times already and haven't received Packet 4 yet.
