  1. Getting a bit paranoid about my trip to Mexico (business visit/ conference) with the Advance Parole/ EAD combo card. 2 days back I got the Mexican Visa from the Mexican consulate (I have an Indian passport) . My company will be driving us through the border to the factory in Mexico for a 4 day conference.

Just wanted to know what I will have to expect during re-entry at the CBP crossing. Has anybody here re-entered the US by land with the AP? If yes, could you please describe the re-entry procedure?

Hey guys!  Just a simple question. What are you guys doing to find a job now that the work permit is so close? I was an accountant back in Costa Rica and I hated it so much.

I haven't started applying yet since the moment I get calls for engineering openings, they usually ask about my status, the need for sponsorship/ green card etc. Figured I would wait till I get the 'card is being processed' notification. But yeah, the usual job search for me, linkedin and the referrals mostly work here in the US, at least it worked the the last time I searched for jobs

  6. Are any of you applying for jobs while waiting? Finding a job after getting the notice for EAD will take at least 2 months with all the job searching and interviews.

Btw is this EAD processing time of 4-5 months for the c(9) category ones or is it the same for other categories  (like F1 students)? Back in 2015, I got mine in less than 70 days. :(

  7. So this is kind of not related to the AOS application that much, but I suggest you all to check your i-94 travel history from the CBP.gov website and check if it matches your arrival/departure data. So turns out, for me, my I-94 had wrong entries after the date on which I entered the US, showing multiple arrival and departure. I got freaked out and went straight to the CBP office in my city. Seems like it was system error where the system was taking in data of another person who has the same First name and date of birth as mine. Crazy. The CBP officer confirmed that it was indeed a system error and that they could not delete it, but they did give me a letter stating this issue.

Its scary to think that had USCIS seen my travel history, it would most probably lead to a denial. I need to go to my USCIS center asap with this letter.

Errors in i-94 are not common, but Ive read a few of them here at Visajoruney, in fact most of them I've read are cases where the person forgot to cancel their return tickets and the I-94 picked that up from the Airlines  (flight manifest), and showed up as them leaving the country.
