    Hello everyone I"m in the process of filig out paperwork to adjust status...I am a Canadian with a F1 status and I was never given a A# unless i'm not seeing it ....do I have one or am I not lookign in the right place??

    Hello,,, your A# is in your visa,, look for the number there that starts with A. You can also find it in your I129 NOA2-approval notice, written above your name with A# also... just check it out!!!

    Just want to add our timeline in this thread... i can see how encouraging this is knowing that some november filers have approvals already. God bless us all!!! hmmmmmmp,, hard to wait!

    December AOS filers

    We received 2 NOA1s last Saturday (Jan 26), thought NOA1 dates are Jan 22, 2007.

    It's a quite relief since we sent our packet last Dec 28. We exceeded in the normal 2 weeks waiting for these NOA1s :)

    Anyway, im a little confused with these two notices. one is for case type I-131- (application for travel document) & the second one is for the case type I-765 -(Application for Employment Authorization Document). I noticed from others that they received three NOA1s ..

    seems i'm loosing the NOA1 for Adjustment of Status? or the NOA1 for I-765 (AED) considered as NOA1 too for Adjustment of Status?

    Nope,,, every application should have its separate NOA. Maybe they are still checking on your I-485. it will arrive soon.

    Hello everyone, even though this is my first post I have been following the December filers forum constantly. As you can see on my timeline/signature I am a December filer myself. I received very good news yesterday when I opened my mail and was surprised to find something from USCIS, I for sure thought it was a RFE but was happily surprised by it being my approved AP... yes my approved AP a little after a month and 10 days from filing!!! (Way to go USCIS :thumbs: )

    So cheers to everyone and hopefully we will be having tons of approvals some time soon...

    As a side note I hadn´t had any touches on AOS and EAD since Biometrics, AP was touched 01/17 and 01/18 (no e-mail alerts even though I have it activated)

    Hi AlexKate,,, did CRIS(USCIS) update your status online before you recieve you AP approval? Im anxiously waiting for my EAD,,,,,, really hope to receive it this month.

    I called around today and so far, no one has been able to help. The doctor in Canada can't release the information but the person who was spoken with seemed sympathetic and thought it was ridiculous that they were wanting me to do the whole exam over again to satisfy the AOS RFE requirement. I'm not 100% sure but I think they can't release it because it is considered "Property of the US government" and they would have to release it if the USCIS asked for it. (Why does USCIS ask me to get a whole new medical instead of just asking me who the doctor was who did the exam and just try to track the doctor down and get the paperwork from there?! They have got to know that the exam was good enough for me to be able to enter on a K1, and asking someone to pay a whole new set of fees and go through a whole medical again due to the error on their just part seems completely unacceptable... especially if it seems like this has been happening often lately!)

    I called USCIS which was useless. The guy I finally spoke with after all the automated messages were finally over said "Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to track down a medical." I know that's not true otherwise some of you who contacted your congressman would have proved unsuccessful!

    I called my congressman's office twice and spoke with two very friendly people, but did not get to speak with the people who deal with visas either time. One lady is on vacation until Monday and the other lady was either busy or on the phone both times I called, and again when my husband tried calling later. Hopefully we will be able to try again tomorrow.

    We are planning on seeing if the CS would be able to transcribe my medical and how much he would charge, and looking around for the cheapest CS in the case that I do have to get my medical done again.

    Hopefully, though, we will finally be able to get ahold of our congressman people, and hopefully they will be able to help. The people I spoke with did seem friendly enough, at least.

    I am also planning on trying to find out how to contact the POE we crossed and seeing if I can find out from them either WHERE they sent my medical, or if they might even still have it. We realized we weren't quite sure if the people we handed over my visa papers to really knew what they were doing. All we know is that those papers have got to be somewhere.

    Onto what I'm wondering about: Does anyone know what exactly is supposed to happen to the medical and other such papers after it is handed over at the border (POE)? (That is definitely the last WE saw of it.) Are they supposed to send it to, say, the Chicago Lockbox office, and the officials there are supposed to connect the case together with the i-485? How does this stuff NOT get lost? Between Canadians not being able to easily get EAD stamps at the border, and medicals being misplaced by officials, and the long wait on the Montreal Consulate... I am a little frustrated with this system! We are supposed to be allies ;)

    I noticed that another person this has happened to was able to get her husband's AP expedited and I am wondering if we might be able to do that too? (I noticed that USCIS error is listed as one of the reasons for being able to have your paperwork expedited.) I'm just not sure if it will be worth it as I may be getting AP and EAD finally next month anyway. and it looks like we'd have to make an infopass appointment or something.

    Hi Melyssa,,, just a suggestion in order for you to speed up with your RFE reply, maybe the best thing to do is, try to look for a civil surgeon in your place who offers a package deal for the entire medical + td shots. I was able to avail $100 package of whole medical + td shots, you just have to bring with you the x-ray film (proof that you underwent x-ray) & vaccination record (supplement form) because they will transfer your vaccination record to supplement A form and will be given to you in a sealed envelop.

    I dont actually need to re-do my medical, should have done the td shots only but i overlooked this,

    i mistakenly read some guidelines not for K3 AOS but anyways, its just fine because i was able to avail a cheap 100 bucks package, update my health status and they're able to know that medical in my country is reliable.

    hi all.

    Me and the wifey will have our aos interview this friday. I am scared and anxious at the same time i followed the list that is on 1-797c notice for AOs for green card. I am thinking of bringing our new born (6 mo)son to the interview. Is this a good thing? I mean will it help me better in giving out the impression that this is a bonafide relationship? Any info would be appreciated.

    PS: most of the bank dosent ask you for your SSN if you have a passport and a valid visa.

    Really? Which one? I haven't heard of this. It's actually against most bank policies. Banks require the ss# or tax id# because any interest you accrue is reported to the IRS.

    When my husband got here and we went to open a bank account, they asked for his SSN, the card, his passport, his ID, everything. We didnt have the passport with us when we opened the account, so they gave us an envelope to mail a copy of it back within 5 business days, otherwise they would close down the account. Banks are usually quite particular to the SSN.

    As for gathering evidence. Did you add your husband on to your car insurance, life insurance or medical insurance? What about adding a cell phone line to your existing plan? Some of these don't require a SSN.

    Utilities vary from state to state. In ours, even if you are added on to the account, your name doesnt appear on the bill. So it was pointless to even bother to add him on.

    I AGREE WITH YOU. WHEN I GOT HERE IN JULY, WE WENT TO MY HUSBAND'S BANK AND APPLIED FOR A JOINT ACCOUNT BUT THE BANK SAID, APPLICATION COULD NOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT SSN.
