Hey Everyone - Was looking over some of these posts and seems like our situation isn't so strange afterall, but let me know if anyone can offer some help or insight. We filed for removal of conditions in July (or so) of 2020. We got the 18 month extensions letter probably 3-6 months later. We waited and waited. Our case got transferred to another location. Then got an appointment for a biometrics test in August of 2021 finally - husband went to that and seemed all fine and good. Were checking our case status online and no updates all they way until December 2021. Then we had a notice in the case status update page that we were ready for an interview. I don't believe that was up for too long because we had just checked the page about month or 2 earlier. So we submit a form online saying we were missing an appointment letter - then about 3 weeks later we got another 18month extension letter in the mail. We just moved out of state (CA) to Texas so submitted a change of address form - which I image will prolong everything again.....It's so insanely annoying - especially when a lot of our friends have gotten their greencards in the time being in what seems like such a shorter time period?? Our friend from the same country (Morocco) came to the US on a tourist visa with his wife, then applied for his greencard and automatically got a 10 year card in less that 8months. What give?! So frustrating. My husband and I have a child together so we provided tons of proof of relationship - he works and pays taxes so can't imagine what the hold up is. LMK if anyone has advice.

ok sorry - one more thing - I just checked our status again and it says that as of Feb 16, 2022 our case is ready to be scheduled for an interview (although we say that same notice in early December...) I was reading online that while it is technically required to have an interview, it is commonly waived...so I'm wondering since we've had this notice for over 3 months, if this is just the state/step it's on right now in the process - before sending us our updated greencard? Or is it actually common to have an in person interview? Surely no one knows for sure but would be cool to know someone thoughts and feelings!

  3. Hi there, we just got out of administrative processing for my husbands greencard. Everything was fine at the interview but they said they needed to verify our marriage certificate and would call us in a few days. We were in administrative processing for 65 days. I think Casablanca is just very very slow. Since they have you passport it is a good sign, also good that they called you to come back. I wouldn't be worried from my experience with them - but it may take longer than they told you it would. Just keep checking our status on CEAC: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

  4. You need an FBI background check, but you need to get finger printed first at your local police station and then they will send to the FBI for you and you will get the report sent to your house. There is a form you need to fill out with you and bring with you to the police station, I cant remember what it is but you can just google it.  The check should take about 2 weeks.

  5. Hi there - we are in AP processing too. And I feel like I am totally going insane - its so hard after waiting so long. OThey are verifying our marriage certificate because we were married in the Seychelles which is a random place, our interview was on the 29th. I agree it does feel like everything is taking longer lately and I do think with all the immigration hysteria, I could assume they are vetting people more or taking longer with each step of the process. Our interview date was almost exactly a year after  submitting our first documents, so 11months is on track. Anyways - wish I could provide any answers or advice but just wanted to write in solidarity. Stay strong and positive!!

Wow I was checking out your timeline and it took pretty much exactly one year from your NOA1 to the interview. That's good to know, my husband is also from Morocco and its only been about 40 days since I submitted the I-130:unsure:. So we have quite a ways to go:clock:. Good luck to you and your husband, sounds like he may be coming to USA soon!

Yes! Almost a year exactly. We are hoping it wont be much longer. Feel free to message me is you have any questions! I've learned SO MUCH...we hired a lawyer, but I don't think it was worth it and didn't make anything faster, I can be so detail oriented that I learned the details of everything myself! My advice would be to get everything ready for your next steps at the NVC stage so that you can submit you packet immediately...I think that slowed things down for us a lot.

The AP time will depend on how fast  Seychelles gets the info back to casa embassy

  7. Hi everyone - am writing to get any insight or support you can give. Our Cr1 Interview for my husband was June 29th (Morocco), I was certain we had everything absolutely perfect...however the CO told my husband that they needed to verify our Marriage Certificate. We were married in the Seychelles because it a long and difficult process to get married in Morocco. The Seychelles is easy, visa free and a common place to elope for many Arab states. I think because it is a more "random" place, they want to make sure it is not a fraudulent marriage.

The CO was very nice to my husband and said we have a very solid case otherwise, everything else is perfect, and that they would call us in 3 days. Right now our case is in administrative processing when I check the case number.

As you can imagine we are waiting on pins and needles...so I am just writing to see if anyone has had a similar experience, or can provide any support or encouragement.

    Thanks so much.

  8. Hi There,

I am filing for CRBA for my son in Morocco. I am born and raised in the US.

For the "Evidence of Physical of Presence" I am providing my school transcripts from 3rd grade to graduating University. I am wondering if this is sufficient evidence or if I should provide multiple forms of proof? As I know the "Burden of Proof" is on me...I want provide appropriate documentation.

I don't have medical records, and am a 1099 contractor which I believe won't be accepted with tax returns, it says W2's only (plus I'm not sure that I have the original 1099 docs...and I read that a 1040 alone won't prove physical presence in the US), I can't really track down any official old medical records. I do have an old passport that I can provide from the age of 19-28...but that does prove presence in the US before the age of 14. So are the transcripts enough?

One other question: I have my current passport and my most recent expired passport, but I did have another passport from when I was about 5...but I don't physically have that passport. I have no idea where it is, I asked my mother to look for it, but she doesn't think its around. If I simply don't present this passport, will they know it exists and would it cause any problems?

Thanks so much for any help and guidance.
