Hi! I did check my paperwork, and I did check 2 a) instead of c). Do you think you got the RFE because of it? There are so many more questions, where you have to check or write down that you are a K1 visa holder, as well as the cover letters.. I really hope I won’t get another rejection 😞 the new package just arrived there today 🤔

Oh god I don’t know🙈it’s the only thing that I can figure out that I’ve not done correctly. So previously I had checked the box that I was a derivative applicant and then checked the K1 visa box 2 (c) (this was incorrect) then I sent it back again and had checked principal applicant and immediate relative spouse to a US citizen (which was also incorrect) so now it has to be correct with me checking the 2(c) box. I’m sorry if I’ve panicked you😱

  2. Hi @Leah88

I got a rejection notice too stating similar points, but not about the incorrect fees. It was the line that explained what other documents where required. When I seen the part about the I-130 I knew something was wrong somewhere, because I had never filed this as I am a K1 visa holder and had filed I-129f originally. So after my upset and panic had settled down I researched on here and checked through my paperwork again. I found that I had checked the wrong box on form I-485, Part 2 Question 2. What I had done was check 2a instead of 2c!!! I don't know if this helps???

This will be my 4th time sending my AOS package. 1st time - I had checked the wrong box for the filing category, 2nd time - I had not attached the I-944 and I-864, 3rd time - I had checked the wrong box for family based. So I have corrected this and am going to get a money order instead of a check. Going by what other people on here have said, I think a money order will be a better option so that there will be no more rejections. I should be a pro at this by now!!! Anyway good luck, thanks for your post 😊

  3. Hey

I’m in Arizona and our 90 days end on 9th June so when all this COVID19 started kicking off I said to my fiancé we better get started with our marriage. Although it’s very early stages for us (3 weeks since I’ve arrived) we went and got our marriage license on Monday. These were done by appointment (only since March 23rd appointments were needed) Courts seem to be still open at this stage in Arizona. Although I am getting anxious about the actual marriage. So I’m keeping a close eye on the restrictions that are happening on a day to day basis. My fiancé has people that he knows that are ordained and that can do our marriage on a last minute basis. I know that this wasn’t in our plan, but I’m actually really really grateful that I’m finally here to be with my fiancé! Different options for you include; maybe travelling to a different state for a marriage license and ask around your fiancées friends and family if they know anyone who’s ordained. At this stage I’m thinking about having our marriage out my fiancé’s back garden with an officiate. Best of luck hun! I know these times are so unsure, but rest assured u will get sorted. Don’t lose faith, stay calm and the rest will follow xxx

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. My mother went through breast cancer, so I am familiar with what goes on.

I'm pretty sure that cancer would not affect your medical in anyway. I believe they are looking for diseases you could transmit to another person. Is there anyway you could continue treatment here in the states?

    Thanks @JSCGPV ur very kind!

Ye was thinking that too about the medical. I have thought about treatment over in the states but with a big move and going thru treatment I just wouldn’t b able to do both. Both physically and mentally. It’s such a messed up situation😂

I don't know what to tell you. But I am glad there are a few here who have replied with some answers. As for me, I can at least relay your circumstance to God in my prayers. I wish you and your Fiancé the best.

@PadieNerkBrapone ur so kind thank you 😊

Can he look for a job there and emmigrate to where you are instead? Then you'll have all kinds of time for treatment.

Would you pass the medical exam now?

@Geo_nerd82 he could of course move over here to Ireland and we could get married but unfortunately for him to work it would roughly take up to a year to process his credentials to be able to work over here. Although it’s not as tough to get visas over here compared to the states, it’s still a process. He will just have to come here more regularly, and I just have to rely on my family and friends for support. It’s tough but we will get thru it, but I just don’t want all the work that’s gone into our K1 visa to go down the drain and to have to do it all over again.

Im not sure if I’d pass the medical because I don’t know the full details of what they would ask and then also what they would b able to check out on medical systems/networks in my area.

  6. Soooooo finally an 11th May filer has been approved😁😁😁 it’s so bittersweet for myself and my fiancé! Only recently I have been diagnosed with breast cancer🙈 so unfortunately I cannot go and be with my love. He has been over with me as I got the bad news, but he had to go back to Arizona because I’m currently out of work. So he still needs to work to support the both of us for now and in the future. My treatment starts within the next 2 weeks and will go on until sept 2018. At present he is trying to find out ways (if any?) that our approval can be put on hold, because I’ve read that the visa is only valid for 6 months which does not give us enough time for me to be treated. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations please let us know.

He has called the USCIS and basically the girl he was talking to had poor English and didn’t understand what he was really talking about, so he asked to speak to her supervisor and got cut off. So he’s calling them back again to try harder and not take no for an answer!

I understand it’s a complicated situation, so if anyone can give us any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated🙂

    thanks guys

This great @Naes thank you! Was thinking I can’t see my number on any other list so was worried! Although I know I’m checking on the website and app. There is light at the end!

Hello and welcome to the forum!!

My take - I wouldn't worry too much about printing reams of info for the interview. if anything, I believe the majority of checking is done between the NOA1 and pre-issue of NOA2, which is why we have to submit evidence at the application stage. The additional evidence bit is a little fast and loose of the exact requirement - how much should I add? what if I didn't include this? - it just comes down more often than not, to the case reviewers' judgement and experience. So we are absolutely in the lap of the gods!!

If it helps, I found this link of some VJ poster experiences and reviews of the Dublin embassy and interview process:

Although, I am like you! I had a shoe box full of random stuff from when we went to sporting events together, a beyonce concert, old wrist bands from gigs and tickets from our travels - absolutely sentimental hoarding and am totes ready to bring my box to London with me, but looking at the questions and process I think I will leave my box at home :)))))

Hope this helps you out :)

Ye great thanks Hun, that’s a little clearer now you say it about the initial evidence we had already submitted. 😃

Hi, I am from Dublin so we will be both going through the Consulate in Dublin. We got our NOA1 from the CSC on May 15th, so we are in the same boat, just waiting on the nod from the USCIS. My fiancé got called back to the U.S. for work back in July so we have visited back and forth since then which isn't cheap! All we can do is wait and hope. Optimism is key! Best of luck!

Hi! I know being optimistic is definitely a huge part of this process! I haven’t seen my fiancé since 30th dec!!! My fiancé got sent back too back in July 2015. Of course been travelling back and forth from then until last Dec. I went to go over for 3 months because I took a year off from my job and had booked return flights an all, but they refused me entry at Dublin Airport. Saying I have to wait until my K1 visa is approved! My fiancé only has limited holidays at 2 weeks a year and I wanted him to keep them until I’m ready so we can leave Ireland together. So I’m still keeping the faith!! I’m so happy I’ve found this forum😁

Welcome :-) I'm from the U.K. too and also have 11th may receipt date, and we're still waiting for our approval, so you're not alone. It's not an easy process, but we should be getting our approval any time now. Hopefully a maximum of a couple of weeks! Keep positive, you'll be with your love soon! Have you started with the prep work? (Ordering police certificate, getting vaccination list printed off at the doctors, finding birth certificate, and preparing your pack for the interview) It will take your mind off things and it will make sure you're ready to book your interview at the embassy as soon as possible. Holly x

Thanks Hun! Great to know someone else😃 ok I never knew all of those things. Will get onto it!!! Wat does the pack for interview need to include? Is there somewhere I can wats needed? Thank u holly very much appreciated. Leigh xxx

  11. Hi I’m new to this I’m a may filer too. My fiancé is in the states and I’m in Ireland. Receive date was 11th May. So I’m hoping from reading on here that through everyone’s posts that it will help us have a bit more of an understanding of wat everyone else is going thru. Kinda in the dark to be honest, so hopefully being on here will help us not be in the depths of despair.
