Requester is you/your husband/your family (because you are requesting the fee waiver) Its an odd choice of a word to use on the form I suppose. Anyway you need to check off on form I912 part 1 one of three things, you get a means tested benefit, your household income is less then 150%, or you have a hardship. Which thing did you choose because it sounds like you checked off #3 so they want a hardship letter. Re-read the instructions and make sure you are filling out the form correctly. Then part 7 is where you sign and then under family members you list your spouse and they sign there.

Hi thanks for your reply in the form part 1 I choose hardship and I didn't send a letter part 7 I found only one empty box where the requester sign and the date should I sign in the same box?

  2. Hi guys, I filed a form I-751 remove condition on residence with the form I-912 but was rejected the notice says: missing one or more required signatures on form I-912 and did not provide a full description of your financial hardship, information on your current income, your current assets or liabilities.

The problem is we filed all this information with details and about the signature I couldn't find anywhere to sign in the form only the requestor signature there!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong I don't know about. My husband filled the fee waiver form is supposed to be me who fill it because it's my case? He filed it because I don't have income I don't work. Please help me what to do and if I'm missing something

No. You're talk about 2 different things. What he was saying is, if on the date that you entered the US, you had been married for more than 2 years. You would have gotten a 10 years green card, and not have to do the I-751. But since that obviously did not happen, you will have to do the I-751. Does it make sense?

Yes that make sense I understand it thank you

The calculation is done at POE. If the marriage length is less than 2 years at POE then they are conditional resident:

So they calculate it since I'm resident in the United States not since the marriage date because I'm married a year before my residency

Ok, that makes me feel better. Yes, just file the I-751 BEFORE your 2 years GC expires and you are good to go.

    Thank you

It's not really a "renewal," you need to apply to remove conditions (your GC is valid for 2 years because you're a conditional resident, hence the CR in CR-1).  You are a conditional resident because you were married to a US citizen for less than 2 years when you received the green card.

You need to file form I-751.  There are lots of helpful guides in stickied comments in the ROC forum here on VisaJourney.

Thank you for your reply and for the explanation

  6. thanks for your reply my husband was not required to file taxes in 2016 because his only income was from government disability benefits and i attached a letter to explain this when i sent my package but in 2017 he filed taxes and his income more than the required and i showed them everything

Disability income is sometimes taxable.  But if your husband's income level didn't require FILING taxes, then just ask him to type and sign a letter explaining that he did not file because his income was below the threshold for filing for tax year 2016.  Good luck with your interview.

Thank you for your reply i will do that for sure thank you
