No, it will continue to say that until you receive a case complete. Then it will read At NVC. Does all of your documents read submitted on CEAC? If so then you’re all good. And by all good I mean to wait for a case complete. :)

So i guess this conflict of updates applies to me too? My fees are still "in process" on CEAC but says we have received your fees and to submit DS260 now on the tracker. The bank shows the deduction of funds is processing. When i log into CEAC the start now button (pivot case) for both IV and AOS are still disabled. So that means fees should be accepted and DS260 should open up any time?

You will have to wait until you get a letter or email from the with case and invoice number before you can pay any fee. On Phone is nice to have, but actual trigger is email or actual postal mail.

He/She already has those. They were able to login to fill out DS261....Its just that the payment buttons are disabled and they cant pay fees. Which is because their DS261 needs to be reviewed/approved. I had read somewhere you could get that done over phone by calling them asking them to review it over phone. See below...

Hi everyone, so after 8 weeks, I finally received the case number and invoice number two days ago over the phone. I was able to log in and filled out DS-261 form. However, I cannot make any payment or do anything else. so my question is "how long they will review my DS-261 and give me the bill".

Call them about the 261 and ask them to review over phone to expedite it. Someone please correct me if i am wrong about this suggestion...

BTW: Anyone know if it is normal to get invoice before case number? Should I call back again and see if another person at NVC can give me case number? Thanks!

Normal. That is what happened to me and a couple of days later (today) i got the email with both case and invoice numbers. I guess that means they are almost done creating the case number for you

Hi! Same here! April 27th receive date (although NVC has officially my petition from March 14th) and received right now only invoice number over the phone and said that it's on last stages to be put on the system before case number is issued but no timeframe given.

So I am not the only one. Anyone else had this experience? If yes, any idea of the timeframe to get the case number after the Invoice number is assigned?

OMG my wife just called me we received the email with our case number! I wasn't expecting it that fast, good thing because we've been so behind on the overall process so far!

    PD/NOA1: 07/03/2017

    NOA2: 03/30/2018 (290 days.....)

    Sent to NVC on 04/16/2018

    NVC received 04/26/2018

    5 weeks 5 days later

NVC case number by email: 06/05/2018 (PIVOT case)

Congratulations! WOOWW i am right behind you. I was given the Invoice number over phone today. no case number yet but that gives me hope!

  7. My NVC receive date was 5/3. I called today for the first time after calling to confirm my case had been received. I chose option 7 when I called and after waiting for half hour was told to call back at choose option 5 because this case was an electronic processing case (PIVOT, which i knew) and they could not look up the details. So i called back, chose option 5 and waited for another half hour. The second person told me that an Invoice number had been assigned which he gave me over the phone but a case number had not been assigned (invoice number starting with ivsca...). I asked how much more should I wait and his response was that this case would be "overdue" on June 29th. So I asked does that mean I should expect case number between now and 29th and he said if "I dont get a case number by 29th I should call". He did ask me to verify the usual things about beneficiaries and petitioner's name and beneficiaries date of birth before giving me the Invoice number

Is that what everybody's experience is with pivot cases? Invoice is assigned first and then the case number takes another few weeks? I  think I remember reading somewhere in the forums here that it the other way around where people got the case number first and the Invoice number after?

  8. Thank you very much for the responses @truelove29! Much appreciated!

I hope someone from ISB can answer the timeline question. To restate the question. (NVC Received May 3rd)

"8: I am assuming if everything goes well, a rough timeline of July 10-15 for case number, July 25-30 CC and Interview somewhere between august 20-30 and a passport return around sept 20 or so (Islamabad folks please answer based on your experience for the interview and passport return). Is this reasonable. I am trying to plan to travel for my wife’s interview and then to pick her up as well. So trying to plan time off from work and such."

  9. I had a few questions that I have been thinking about as I wait for a case number (NVC received May 3rd). I thought to collect them all in one post

1: I know Islamabad, Pakistan is pivot embassy but do you send documents via email or upload them via CEAC or it could be either?

2: Do you send a specific set of documents or is it anything you want to add? For example, do you upload supporting documents like pictures of you together or travel itineraries or those are to be brought to the interview only ?

3: Is the I864 scanned and uploaded online as well along with the financial documents?

4: My case arrived at NVC on may 3rd. So its been 3 weeks so far. Is it worth calling them now given the timeline of 8-10 weeks these days for pivot cases or should I wait for another 3 weeks to start asking for case number?

5:  When they setup the interview, is the invitation sent to both the visa petitioner and the agent (myself) and is this sent via email? I ask because snail-mail reliability in Pakistan cannot be trusted.

6: Are IRS transcripts enough or sending the entire Tax return is necessary? I was planning to upload W2 and tax transcripts for the past three years.

7: Are PIVOT cases now actually running behind regular cases in terms of total time to get CC or is it about the same?

8: I am assuming if everything goes well, a rough timeline of July 10-15 for case number, July 25-30 CC and Interview somewhere between august 20-30 and a passport return around sept 20 or so (Islamabad folks please answer based on your experience for the interview and passport return). Is this reasonable. I am trying to plan to travel for my wife’s interview and then to pick her up as well. So trying to plan time off from work and such.

Sorry for the multi-question post but i appreciate the help.

  10. FYI...Case was transferred over to NVC today. Received email notification, text and the OLD site has been updated (the new one still says case approved) and got notifications from the App as well. So that means app is pulling data from the old site. which in turn means that is not very reliable just like the old site is not reliable. Something to keep in mind for folks who are still waiting. Good luck to everyone waiting.

okay. thanks. I really hope it is faster than 2 and a half months for case number assignment.

What's the point of confirming that they have the case, if you can only take action on any of it after a NVC case number is assigned to you? If you call and they tell you that they don't have your case yet, all you can do is sit and wait. no?

Haha true but i would rather know when it got there so i have an idea of when to expect a case number assignment so I can prepare stuff accordingly. I mean i might be feeling well it will get there in a week and it actually takes a month. My clock for case number assignment and wait for 2 1/2 months starts when they recieve it. This is why there is a “NVC received” field on your timeline

Call them? Aren't they suppose to send you a letter with your case number next?

They will but thats for the case number assignment and that takes 2+ months these days. You get an email and a case number roughly 2  1/2 months from I-130 approval to begin NVC form fillout, fee submission and document submission (DS-261, DS-260 and I-864 processing). The first thing you want to confirm is that your case has arrived at NVC. It takes roughly 2 weeks from the case being approved to it arriving at NVC. You will have to call them to confirm that it actually has. they don't send notifications for that.
