I have known my fiancé for 2 years, We dated for 9 months before I proposed.
Last march, I took my kids over with me to see her. This was the time it was going to happen. We went to Port Barton Palawan, While there on the beach at sunset my son said he needed to go to the bathroom(our planned getaway, haha). While we were gone friends of ours played a video I had made of pictures of us and the kids though our whole journey together up to that point. The music on the video was Kodaline - The One. while the video was playing my son and I snuck up behind her and waited for the video to end. When the video ended and she turned around I was on one knee with a bouquet of roses and the ring. I asked her to be my forever and she said YES! Then my son 9 at the time read her a letter he wrote her and asked her to be his step mom and gave her a necklace that he saved his allowance and bought her (silver and purple rose, purple is her color). She hugged him and said it would be honored to be his step mom. The rest is History

Tier 2 informed fiance today that our RFE went to approved on 12th... no update online.

BUT APPROVED BABY... OMG THANK GOD!

I'm so happy right now that I will soon be out from under USCIS crappy thumb.

Day 226.  VJ Timeline moved to December 24th.

It is 6:00 in California and the adjudicators are taking showers and drinking coffee.  Even they dont know what a great day this is going to be for some of us.

Never lose the faith.  The process sucks but the reason for it is amazing.  As yesterday was MLK DAY, I think we should honor him with a few appropriate quotes as we start a new week...

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope."

Let's go get some approvals today!

Good morning local people!  Good night, afternoon, evening to our foreign friends.  Today is a holiday for Federal workers but most consultants still work.  Hopefully they ill be updating some online stuff.  Who knows?  Either way, today will not produce a whole lot but always keep your head up.  Every second that ticks by is a second closer to being with our true loves.

Stay positive and enjoy the day.  Tomorrow this all starts back up!

I also just wanna say, no disrespect to those who 'disappear' after they get their approval, I totally understand, but I'm not one of those people.

I'm in this with you all for the long haul.  Scans won't stop when I get mine, and I wont abandon you all... I'm here until we're all approved (at least the vocal people that I have come to know and recognise)...

Lets have some High School Musical - how much more American can you get, really?

Day 192!  I ended up getting a tattoo last night. My first. It is a rose with dice (my nickname is “Lucky”. It also has mine and Rose’s kids name on it. I am not a tat guy but I wanted to do it. Maybe the sentimental season or the lack of any news at all from USCIS. This trip has been awesome and now Rose, William, AJ, Julia and Aira are permanently etched into both my body and soul. I have pretty much given up on seeing anything this year from USCIS but I am still content in this journey.

Good evening, friends! My timeline was also updated to a week later. It's not a huge surprise at this point. I have taken up fitness classes (Orangetheory) to exercise out my stress. If I stay on top of it, it really helps keep my mind at peace. I'm finally meeting up with my fiance again this upcoming Monday and I'll stay with him until we get his visa. (We've been apart for 3 months now.) We'll be visit-living in Montenegro (affordable and we can both travel there) and eventually Turkey when we're closer to his interview date.

I just want approval by March 26 so I can go to school in the spring quarter! Also, he better make it here by July because the wedding venue is booked, the dress has been purchased, and the save the dates are going out soon! (We'll get married legally way before our actual wedding with our family.)

I had a thought recently... maybe it's more "acceptable" to USCIS to take this long nowadays because we live in such a digital world? Because it didn't used to take this long, right? If cell phones, video chat, text messaging, etc. did not exist, it would be an absolute outrage to keep a couple apart for this long. (Not that it isn't, regardless!)

How are you holding up? I really appreciate all of the positivity on this forum! We need it!

I would love it if they would give him the visa right away and we could fly back together, but that is wishful thinking.  I figured that I would attend the interview because they want proof of a continuing relationship.  People worry about printing chat logs and e-mails, etc.  I thought he could bring a better proof in the form of bringing his actual fiancée to the interview.  By the time we get this NOA2 and NVC, etc, we will need something to brighten our spirits.  Plus, I hear that the embassy in Cairo tends to be skeptical of the actuality of people's relationships.  We already tried to get married in his country and get a CR-1 and his country were the ones who gave us a hard time and wouldn't let us get married over my divorce document.  I have all the proof in the world of my intention to marry including a previous visit we made to the US Embassy together for me to notarize a paper for his government swearing I was free to marry.  I bet it will be so exciting for you to see the excitement on his face as that plane is landing in the US.  Don't forget, you have to go through the foreigners line with him even though you are a US citizen.  I mean, you don't have to, but if you want to be with him for every step of the way you do, because he can't accompany you in the US citizen line.  This is the most exciting thing ever--to have your best friend in your country and be able to take him everywhere and get him to try all kinds of food and introduce him to everyone.  I hope they are like big kids and so excited like we are every time we are in their countries!

You have no idea how amazing this trip is. It has been cloudy with a nice breeze (my bald head doesn’t always love the Philippines weather!) and even Corregidor was an incredible day. I’ve already bought Christmas gifts for the kids and a bottle of chilled Patrone at the bar last night (there were friends there and we didn’t finish it). This is perfection and it is going to hurt when I leave Sunday. Still no NOA 2 but there are a couple more days left.

I miss everybody there. I hope all is well and that those approvals are rolling in.

I am sorry to hear about your loss-- but your grandmother definitely spoke your marriage into existence. And Jamaicans hold on to their identity even 7 generations removed. Strong roots, strong history, Shout out to St. Catherine and Portland.
