I don't need to know what the specifics are, but it kind of sounds like you're saying that it is high risk for you to fly as you reach your third trimester, which is true for a lot of people. There is a difference between a normal progressing pregnancy flying be a high risk and your pregnancy being high risk, like if you have multiples, or gestational diabetes or such. If pregnancy were a legit reason not to go to the interview, I think we would have a lot of those cases. I am sorry to say it, but based on my experience at the consulate and watching various couple's get approved or denied through this site afterwards, I would give you a 20% chance of being approved with a documented high risk pregnancy.EVERY couple I saw at the consulate had a partner with them. With a normal pregnancy that the doctor said not to fly in, less than 20%.
Either way, I personally would wait until after your baby is born. I wouldn't be able to bear possibly losing 12-14 mos (sorry, I checked your timeline and now realize that you're talking about your husband, not fiance! )
I'm guessing you want your husband there for the baby's birth. Is it worth it to risk the 12-14 mos necessary to reapply for a denial? You're the only ones who can make the decision.
Good luck with your visajourney!
Thank you for your detailed input.

So you have a specific medical condition that makes your pregnancy high-risk?
Yes, I have my medical records that indicate so

I would send copies of those papers to your husband and have him bring them and explain why you are not able to be there.
Yes, I would be scanning the papers to him once I get them. I already sent my originals (Birth Cert, Marriage Cert etc.) with my Dad since he was leaving back home to Dominican Republic, so my husband can have them because I had a feeling I was not able to fly.

Don't you think that if the consulate knows she can't fly because of a high-risk pregnancy they will have some compassion? Do they really have to delay the interview and wait months until the baby is born plus the time it takes for the baby to be able to fly? And how fun is it on a scale from 0-100 to fly with an infant? Negative 100?
I have the doctors letter and other medical evidence to prove my medical condition which I can provide. In addition I have traveled with my infant child before and it was pretty easy, however I have always made sure that my newborn was cleared to fly especially to international countries, and yes its months later as per doctor's order.

I appreciate your research and taking the time to assist me : )

From just a tiny bit of research it seems like it is not required for you to be there but it is strongly recommended you attend the interview.
See this link:
"not attending an Interview in the Dominican Rep Embassy is like Visa Suicide"
Additionally, I found several threads that state that although it's not a requirement you really should be there for the interview with this consulate. Can you delay at the NVC until after your baby is born?
Thank you for your response but I was thinking because of my complications w/my pregnancy that wpuld suffice as to why I'm not able to attend the interview.

If you haven’t already, go to portals and all the DR members should show up- or you can choose to follow the country. I find that area helpful for country specific questions since there are some variations between countries 🙂
Yes I have the Dominican Republic selected. I saw my thread on there also.

Oh....I thought you were the intending immigrant. Your husband must attend the interview. You will need to look into the requirements for the Santo Domingo consulate whether USC spouses are expected or required to attend. Some consulates encourage it. Some don't allow it. Some don't care either way.
No worries. sorry I was not clear. Ok so I will have to find out with Dominican consulate

You are not required to attend the interview- unless the DR requires it that I am unaware of.
Thank you for your response.

If you have not completed all the NVC steps yet, you can delay it so that you have your interview after the baby is born. You must attend an interview in person. It's not possible to be interviewed by phone or to skip the interview. If you gave completed all steps, I'd contact the NVC for your case to be paused.
Thank you for your response. So with this being said. My spouse can not attend the interview on his own at the Embassy in Dominican Republic?

Hi Everyone,
I hope all is well. I'm at the NVC stage and currently pregnant. As per my doctor's order I will not be able to fly for the interview when the time arrives. Unfortunately I'm High Risk. My question is when the time does come when I receive the notification of the interview is there any contact information where I can send the letter and explain why?
Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I been reading other members timelines and I'm a bit confused. I got my case / invoice number calling NVC no email yet. I completed the DS-261 online same day the rep gave me the case / invoice number on 7/11/18. When will I be able to pay the AOS fee? I see some members timelines indicate they paid their bill the next day after they completed their DS-261. Am I going to the wrong website? Do I have to wait for the email as per the website?
Anyone help is greatly appreciated! Thank you

This might be a redundant but easy question but I searched the site for an answer before posting.
We received our NOA2 yesterday. How will we be notified when NVC receives our case? Do we need to call them? If so, when? Will they assign a case number upon receipt or is that another wait?
Thank you.
Hi,
I wasnt as lucky as getting an email and I provided one, the rep even confirmed my email via phone. I had to call to get my case / invoice number. I received my case / invoice number on 07/11/2018, same day I was able to complete the DS-261 online in the evening. I ahve yet to receive the email. Now im just waiting for me to pay the fees and continue the process. But I'm being proactive and getting all my necessary paperwork together. Good Luck!

You can just call NVC press 1 for English then 7. I just called and had a rude lady lol. Gave her my Reciepf # and she said they receive my case today. I’ll try calling back tommorow and see if the nvc number is ready.
Thank you so much for your fast reply! Good luck in your journey 😊

Yay! My NOA2 is April 18th too! I'll call later tonight and see if the case number is ready!
Hi congrats on your journey so far. Where can I go to see when NVC received my case? . I did see that USCIS mailed it to them on 5/4/18. Would this information also be on myuscis website?
I would appreciate your input ..
Hope all goes well!

Hi Everyone,
Quick question. For those have submitted their NVC package etc and have their spouse living in Dominican Republic, how long is the police certification valid for? Also does the certification require an special stamps? I informed by husband just to go straight to the source and inquire. They told him he needed (2) one to send to me with the package and another when the interview is approaching. I just need clarity.
Thank you for assistance!

For his support documents it's:
Passport bio page
Police certificate
Marriage license
Birth certificate
Copied correct? And bring original to interview

An have him take them to the interveiw
Oh I’m sorry I meant his passport pic with the IV package. I should’ve been more specific in my message but thank you for your response!
High Risk Pregnancy
in Caribbean

I thought I added this but I it erased by errior. I have a medical issue I wish not disclose online, unfortunately its not a normal pregnancy. I have this condition since my first child. My reason of not flying is not because of the amout of months I will have when the interview comes but a severe medical issue.
I appreciate your input : )
