Yes, I'm also curious how Lovelise26's case is going and anyone else that can provide updates. My fiancee is preparing for her interview in Germany. I am writing a letter addressing the consular officer to the effect of asking for the waiver, presenting our situation and making the case for why it is in their best interest and how this meets the guidelines of the waiver process. Otherwise, I have to move to Germany. We really can't wait years for this to happen. We are considering presenting our story to media outlets as well but I want to do this respectfully in good faith.

No updates here. We are heading into our 9 month (in April) since his interview. After April, we'll decide if he'll travel to Mexico instead and wait 2 years so that I can get him a Mexican Citizenship and re-apply as a married couple and with his Mexican Passport instead of his Iranian passport.

The officer will not accept the letter for waiver. We had our letters written and they would not take it.

I checked out the link you posted above @Lovelise26 and for the Abu Dhabi Embassy this is what the pdf file pulls up, a blank page with 2 sentences:

"The selected U.S. embassy/consulate has no location specific information available here.
Please visit the embassy/consulate website for more information."

Arghhh...why is there so little information or instructions for the Abu Dhabi Embassy and the process? So frustrating...

Btw...good luck on your interview tomorrow!! Just noticed the date ;) But sure to let us know how it goes! :)
    Thanks again!

Let me know if you can open the attached file ABD_Abu-Dhabi.pdf. My fiancé had sent this to me a couple months ago before we received the actual email from UAE. I only used this file as a way to prepare, but then I was able to cross check everything with the packet they sent us. Although, to tell you the truth, this document seemed to be more up to date than the pages they sent us  they said "This list was updated on September 2014"

To be on the safe side, I sent him the Affidavit of Support with my wet signature and all the original documents (W-2, 2017 Income Tax Return, Letter of Employment, last 2 month pay stubs). I only sent him print outs of my bank statements.

Also, not sure if this would be beneficial to anyone going to the Abu Dhabi Embassy and traveling into Dubai first. I wanted to send my fiancé some money to help with the costs in UAE. I found it the hard way that MoneyGram is a horrible service to use. I found WorldRemit to be much better and faster and with a lot of places where he could pick up the money, so if you need to use a money transfer service, I recommend WorldRemit ;)

  3. Alguien save si puedo conseguirle ciudadania Mexicana a mi esposo (futuro) Irani teniendo yo mi doble ciudadania? Si tengo que obtenerle la residencia Mexicana primero, cuando se puede conseguir la ciudadania?

Gracias de antemano a alguien que sepa como hacer para tramitar todo esto.

She hasn't received anything either.  I saw on this site that it can take 5-6 months before we hear anything.  I guess it's one of the downsides of this embassy.

    Hey Azn1ne,

I don't know if this helps, but we never received an actual packet. We set up my fiance's interview within days of us getting an email from the NVC saying our case had been transferred to the Abu Dhabi Embassy. Last week we did get an email with the required documents, numbers and locations for the medical, and what not to bring to the embassy. That's all we received 2 weeks prior to his upcoming interview. Just start preparing your documents (Affidavit of support, W2s, bank statements, proof of relationship etc.) and wait for that email :)

Also, not sure if this helps, but when I called the NVC to check on the status (if we had received a case number) they told me that ours had been transferred to the electronic cases.

Thanks for replying Anibunny, I was wondering about the status of waivers. I plan on starting the K-1 process immediately and making sure the reasons for granting the waiver are all addressed. For me, the undue hardship is that I would without any choice have to leave the country indefinitely to be with my fiance/wife. I believe it's in the national interest of the U.S. to not force its own citizens to leave, just to be with loved ones. I'll also be writing letters to my Congress members on the matter.

That is my second option now that this ban was upheld. My fiance has his interview in a couple of weeks and just continue to pray that he is at least granted a waiver. Otherwise, I'm with you, I'd have to travel South and get my dual citizenship.

how did you get this date July 12th ? when did you booked that date because right now i'm not able to book my appointment.
    please guide accordingly.

    Thanks

We received an email from the NVC on April 2nd that stated the following:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiance(e)'s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy in ABU DHABI, UAE. The U.S. Embassy will contact your fiance(e) when they are ready to schedule a visa interview.

In the meantime, please have your fiance(e) and his or her children visit http://ceac.state.gov and complete Form DS-160, the online nonimmigrant visa application that is used for a K visa.

    NVC Case Number: XXXXXXXX
    USCIS Receipt Number: XXXXXXX
    Invoice ID:  XXXXXXXXX
    Principal Applicant:  XXXXXXXXX
    Petitioner:  XXXXXXXXX

    Interview Location: ABU DHABI UAE

Then I also received a second email addressed for my fiance from the NVC the same day. He then submitted his DS-160 on April 6th. At the time the first available date was April 25th and we still chose to select a date closer to the Travel Ban decision. We chose June 28th, then later changed it to July 12th.

You submit your DS-160 and once you pay the fee you are able to schedule your interview. This is the only thing we found and you can select the Abu Dhabi tab. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html (for some reason I can never open the pdf on my mac)

Again, I didn't get any packet from the embassy. I did however received an email this past Tuesday, June 26th with further instructions. You may want to look through the pdf I mentioned above and get as much possible and then wait for the actual email from the Embassy. It will probably be sent to you a couple of weeks prior to the interview as they did with mine.

    Hope this helps.

  7. I received 2 emails saying our petition was sent to the embassy in Abu Dhabi. My fiance went ahead and submitted the D160, we paid and he was able to schedule his interview date (first for June 28th, then rescheduled it to July 12th). It wasn’t until Tuesday morning that I received an email from the Abu Dhabi Embassy office with Required Documents pages, Instructions and Locations for the Medical and what not to bring or is allowed into the embassy. We went into the Abu Dhabi Embassy and were able to download a package page there, pretty much similar to what was sent to us recently, so we had an idea of what to expect. Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK TO ALL! I’ll keep posted on the outcome.

What did the letter from January say? Call NVC and check with them what the status is on your case or when you can expect mail (603) 334-0700.

Hi, you got your case number the next day your case was received? Just checking, because ours was received today.

Some receive the case number the same day, the next day or a couple of days or weeks later. That is why NVC says  "up to 8 weeks" for you to get a case number once they receive your file. My case was received at NVC on 3/20/18 and 13 days later I received my case number.  Just be patient :)

Then that’s the link where you can check the status..

What’s the error message it says when you put your nvc case number and location?

It was saying Invalid Application ID or Case Number. Under the NonImmigrant Visa Tab. When I selected Immigrant Visa and entered my case number it came up and said case was in transit to consular and Interview date was provided by the NVC

  11. 11 minutes ago, jeine said:

Nope, after receiving your nvc case number. I thought you were asking where to check your case number status if it’s “at nvc, in transit, or ready”.

Yes. I received two emails one that said it was sent to embassy and another that just states it was approved for expedited processing. I haven't been able to check the status via other form.

Nevermind - I was able to check the status under the Immigrant Visa drop down. THANK YOU!!

Well I have a dress and we have a venue! We are eloping to Fort Lauderdale in Florida with my kinder and we found a beautiful Airbnb place where we can have an outdoor ceremony. Stuart’s brother lives there so it will be nice to have someone from his family there too. I think it will be on August first as I have a thing about numbers and that date will be 8.1.18 !! We re pretty confident that by then Stuart will be in the country but obviously feel the same way about jinxing things and know the number one rule about making firm plans before you are in the international arrivals hall of your POE. It does feel so nice to actually think this is going to really happen now though!!!  Wondering if others have  made any plans yet??

I hear you. With not knowing exactly when he will be here and just having an estimate on time (also depending on AP and the travel ban status) I'm also going to have something at a little chapel in Austin, TX. I've begun looking for my dress again and since it is something very intimate (the few family members he has here and my family) I'm looking for something simple :)

They received my case on the 16th too and I'm the option 5 group too! Hoping for a case # by this Friday. That'll make it a week since they received our cases. Good thing is the embassy will have the cases same day as they send them

Just called and am in the electronic group too. At this pace, seem's I'll have to set my wedding date on the date we got engaged...August
