  1. Advise to everyone who needs Police Certificates from other countries:

Start as soon as possible, you can do this right after submitting I-129F form.

If a US Embassy is helping in obtaining the certificate, they most likely going to ask your Approval Notice. This is NOA2, do not wait until NVC process and try to give them case #.

This could have saved us 2-3 weeks now.

I do not believe wet signatures are required.  It doesn't need to be notarized.  The way I read this a copy is allowed as long as the wet signature can be presented if needed.  It must be signed but a copy is acceptable.

NOTE: Signing Form I-134 is under penalty of perjury under U.S. law. For this reason, it is not necessary to sign Form I-134 before a notary, or to have your signature notarized after you sign it.

Signature. Each af davit must be properly signed and led. For all signatures on this af davit, USCIS will not accept a stamped or typewritten name in place of a signature. If you are under 14 years of age, your parent or legal guardian may sign the af davit on your behalf. A legal guardian may also sign for a mentally incompetent person.

Copies. You should submit legible photocopies of documents requested, unless the Instructions specifically state that you must submit an original document. USCIS may request an original document at the time of ling or at any time during processing of an application, petition, or request. If USCIS requests an original document from you, it will be returned to you after USCIS determines it no longer needs your original.

Sponsor’s Statement, Contact Information, Certi cation, and Signature. Select the appropriate box to indicate whether you read this af davit yourself or whether you had an interpreter assist you. If someone assisted you in completing the af davit, select the box indicating that you used a preparer. Further, you must sign and date your af davit and provide your daytime telephone number, mobile telephone number (if any), and email address (if any). Every af davit MUST contain the signature of the sponsor (or parent or legal guardian, if applicable). A stamped or typewritten name in place of a signature is not acceptable.

    Hello!

We are very happy that our file is Ready at the Embassy! We received our instructions by e-mail, now preparing all the necessary documents. We were about to send via courier the I-134F and updated Letter of Intent. You think, getting scanned copies of both will be sufficient? We really do not want to mess anything.

    Appreciate your help

Can you explain to me what is the option 5 or 7??? I  have read several people talking about it and I don't know.

My NOA2 approval was Feb 22...

I do not know exactly, I am sure some people here have better knowledge of this. I think they have divided the cases at NVC. Every person who is returning your call is able to tell you if it is there or not, but to give your case number, it is either from someone at 5 or 7. We called at 7, lady said it was there but she could not give number and told us to call 5. Lady from 5 gave us the information after she verified our identity. That is all I know.

  4. Hello guys,

We have been calling NVC like almost every day, and they always told us they did not have our file until yesterday. So yesterday, they told us it was there Since 22, February and it was not processed. So, today we called around lunch time and finally got our case number assigned. I suggest you to try both 5 and 7 because lady asked us to call 5 to get our case number. Hope this helps and you get your case numbers very soon!

Hey guys!! Noa2 feb 20 here!! No update online and just received my mail yesterday the 26th.

Quick question. Above my name on the notice there is a capital letter A followed by a 9 digit number. Same for my fiance. Now I'm guessing this is the Alien number?

Do they assign an alien number to both beneficiary AND petitioner??? I was unaware I had an Alien number unless it was assigned now... and I left this blank on I 129f.

So do I use this number to fill out on my I 134?

Hello, I was wondering the same thing. Today we got our case number but it does not seems to fit in I-134 form. We left it blank in I-129F form as well. Confused :S

So, with my issue with the NVC... I called again to ask why, and the problem was that I had the wrong case number, I got it right, they said that it's been in the NVC for two days, but I'm seeing people here getting approved faster, how many days does it usually take for the case to be sent to the embassy?

We are approved on 9th February, called NVC many times to see if they have received our case and they did not. It seems like 14 days but not always.

Since you are the beneficiary, you can start looking at the DS-160.  You will need two recent 2x2 passport photos on a white background.  You can gather the info on where the doctors are and get the number of the one you want to use.  Find your immunization records so you can get fewer shots.  Get your police records from every country you have lived longer than six months since age 16.  Does your passport have at least 6 months on it from the time you anticipate getting your visa?  Study some interview questions.  Most of all, RELAX.  If you have decided to go for this relationship and feel confident, you should have no problems!  Your Embassy will contact you and your fiancé will get a letter to forward to you by email from NVC with some good pointers.  You are in the home stretch...  Cheers!

Getting police certificates are most frustrating thing. We have to get certificates from 3 different countries. US Embassy in one of those countries is willing to help, but other two says "This is not function of Embassy". I think it is absurd to ask someone to travel back to those countries to just get a police certificate. By the way, those countries do not hold any proper records whatsoever because they are not developed enough. This is so stressful. I am waiting for my Case # so I can contact our Embassy and request solution/exemption.

Questions 8 and 9 are under "Real Estate Information" and question 8.b. refers to debts related to real estate.

If you do not own real estate, input "none" in fields requiring $ amounts, per the I-134 instructions:

    https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

Problem is PDF file government proving does not allow you enter any letter, only accepts numbers because they are $ values. Either we should put 0 or leave it blank like I did on previous form I-129F. Realized this was happening only when you use Adobe. So, just use other application to fill the form if you like to enter None.

Oh nope, I can provide my own assets without I-134 so I can be my own sponsor. Not every embassy can do that, so first check that one.(because you didn't put the country I am not sure which country it is about)

About 38- normally if it is the petitioner either you chose intend or leave it blank (do not chose I do not intend!) and then at the additional page you put the corresponding info and write "N/A (K1 visa process)" or something similar to that. So I believe it would be same even if it is the beneficiary. (check beforehand if you can do this)

Its Turkey :D I will put I intend to and then refer to the Bank Letter.

    1) depends on the embassy (in japan I can)

    2) (probably accidental 1) beneficiary print out is ok

    3) most recent you can get and 3-6 months there's nothing specific but 6 was what they asked from me for visitor visa so I'm going with that

    4) we actually had it already and I'm worried about that too... just google visajourney employment letter k1 you'll see some similar threads with sample templates..

Thank you for the answers! We are so lucky to have you in this forum!

When you say (in Japan I can) Do you mean, you are going to mark 38 as "I do not intend" and then provide a Bank Letter in the interview that shows enough money you have in the bank?

  11. I know these questions have not asked yet here and I think it will be asked once more approvals happens. After NO2 approval, we will all go and start preparing documents for the big interview.

    1. I-134 form:  This sponsorship form to be filled by Petitioner, however. what if Beneficiary already has enough amount of money to support himself/herself? Do we still need this document? If so, how we should handle the part in the from under Part-3 - 38? (If you select "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intend to make in Part 7. Additional Information. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.)
    1. Tax Transcripts (last 3 years): Should I get those online and sent to Beneficiary for him to print them? Or print and ship them with courier alongside with other papers?
    2. Pay Stubs: How long these should be? Last year? Last 3 years? Again need to send copies via courier? Scanned versions?
    3. Employment Verification Letter: Is there a working template for this letter somewhere that used recently and no problem occurred? What date should be enough? Month old prior to interview?

I hope you all get your approvals very very soon!

    Hello Naes,

We tried to sign up for Informed Delivery as you suggested but system said "Your address is not currently eligible for Informed Delivery. Please check back at a later date". It is not that we are going to live in rural area. Its eastern NJ 30 minutes drive to Manhattan, NYC.
