A have a question for anyone who has gone through the interview recently....Can you tell me a good place to get photographs done in ISB/Rawalpindi area for the medical and interview? Just want to make sure they are done right...

good luck.. when did u got email for interview after 22. I got cc on 6/18. wondering how long take to get interview letter.
I didn't receive a letter. I got an email from NVC on June 14th. Looking at your timeline, I would say you will get an interview email early July. Give it 2 weeks from your cc.

I want to send more evidence at nvc stage like chat logs, call logs ,gift receipt but I am confused how can I upload all these things? when nvc already upgraded everything into electronically
I would say just upload what NVC is asking you to.
And keep these chat logs, call logs, gift receipts for interview if they ask. NVC doesn't need these.
Edit: If you really really want to upload then there will be an additional documents section where you can attach, but i would say you don't need to. It will not make your visa process any faster nor it will help at nvc stage.

Guys, does anyone know? I appreciate your help.
They now take time to review re-submitted docs. Mine took 20 days to review a doc that was uploaded in a different orientation.
So just wait. They initially reviewed my docs on May 9th and I uploaded the "checklist" doc the same day and then they reviewed it on May 29th.

yaaaayyy!! My wife visa status changed to ISSUED last night. Finally our journey is about to be over.
Just a note to Islamabad folks, CO gave us 221g on pictures without makeup so we went back and re-submit the pics without makeup at the same day. It took them 3 days to update our case and after 2 days it changed to ISSUED.
Thanks to VJ family!!
Congrats.
Could you fill in your "timeline"? It will help other Pakis that are going through this process.

It's non-gov assignment.
I think the best solution is to get the re-entry permit. Regarding the citizenship, we can wait for another 2 years so she meets 3 year requirement.
Re-entry permit requires the person to be present in US for hand geometry etc, person can leave after and have the permit delivered to consulate/embassy abroad. From processing timelines, it seems it takes between 2.5 - 6 months. Even if we request to expedite our case, who knows how many weeks or months USCIS will take. I don't want her to stay in US while I'm abroad.
Is it possible after submitting application for re-entry permit she flies with me to UAE and once we receive a letter or an email for hand geometry she fly back for a week to get it done? We can provide relative's address so that letters are delivered there and they can inform us.
-
Now my question is can a CR-1 get a reentry permit?
By definition Conditional permanent resident is also a permanent resident right?
Conditions are just to show you were not a fraud.

Hmm I would check with HR. But I don't think so. We are a privately held company.

Yes it does .. but it’s a whole lot cheaper than finding out that you have to go through the Spouse visa again
your first post states you are concerned.. your last post seems to say that you think it is ok ... every few months isn’t 5 to six months.. GC is for living in the US, not visiting
Another option is to forgo the final stages of the CR1, move together to UAE, apply for the spouse visa as you get closer to returning to live in the US
That's true. No one would ever wanna go through this whole pain again.
My company is still doing some paperwork so it might take few months before everything is finalized.
Yeah for sure I will get reentry permit.
Thank you, I appreciate all.

Do NOT leave US without reentry permit.
Well this permit should be applied at least 2 months before leaving US. and $575 fee, that's ripping.
The thing is we can have vacations after every few months in US. This way she will be getting entry after every few months.

Hi,
We are in process of getting a CR-1 visa for my wife. Hopefully she will be here in US within 2 months. I'm US citizen and my US based company is planning to send me for a long term assignment to UAE for 2 years.
My plan is to stay in US till she arrives, have her SSN, Green card and learning driving license. Myself and her would be able to visit US every 5-6 months for a week vacation. I'm afraid immigration officers may decline her entry to US because she didn't stay in US after getting residency. Any one has gone through this? Would we be fine?
Also, would it affect when I apply to remove her residency conditions after 2 years?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone here from Pakistan get a July Interview yet?
Still waiting. CC May 29th. Your CC is May 14th, let us know when you're scheduled for interview.
Edit: I have seen more than half of the Paki's don't even have or update their timelines, they are just silent readers/watchers. If they have any question, they come out of their burrows, else no, which isn't helpful for us others.

Does this mean that the passport should be in landscape position?
Position doesn't matter as far as your passport pic and details (dob, passport no etc) can be read horizontally.
Some passports like Paki have the pics and details vertical and 2nd page has words in horizontal. 3rd page has signatures. NVC doesn't care about the 2nd page, they like to read your details without rotating the doc. So, first page and the page with your signatures should have words horizontal.

Thank you again. I have another question, buddy. when I checked on your timeline it has been awhile since you sent your package. Did you get a checklist or this is the reply for the original package you sent back on late April.
Buddy we uploaded our docs on April 27th. They reviewed them on May 9th. and then see below.

Did they send you an email or you checked in their website changed to "AT NVC". When (time) did they actually updated?
Thank you.
I got an email about half an hour ago and then I checked on their website and it says "AT NVC" now. Before it was "Submit Docs".

They seemed to have slowed down the review of Pivot cases lately unfortunately.
If you don't mind me asking, did they want the copy to be in landscape mode? Someone said before that their marriage certificate was rejected because it was scanned horizontally instead of vertically and that it should all be in portrait. So I'm now a bit confused as to how I should upload my documents.
NVC Comment: " This document is not in the right-side up position. Please replace this with a scan which displays the words horizontally on the screen."
So the words should be in horizontal, page orientation won't matter.
Declaration of Jewelry & Cash
in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Posted · Edited by Sal89
Hi,
I know if you are bringing cash/traveler checks/money orders more than $10,000 to USA, you need to declare at US customs.
What I'm not sure about is Gold Jewelry.
Should gold jewelry worth be included in $10,000? E.g. Lets say you are carrying $5,000 cash and your jewelry is worth $7,000. This total would be more than $10,000. Do you need to declare the total amount or just $5,000 in this example?
Edit: Gold Jewelry is earrings, rings, lockets etc. It is not a gold brick or something.
Thanks.
