I went overboard making sure we were not lacking for anything the interviewer might have wanted. I used simple manila envelopes and organized all of our evidence as follows:

    1. Wife's biographical documents (EAD/AP Card, Passport, birth certificate, birth certificate translation, etc.)
    2. My biographical documents (Passport, Global Entry Card, Birth Certificate, Previous Marriage Certificate, Divorce Judgement).
    3. Evidence establishing our married life together: Certified copy of marriage certificate, pictures of us, all of her facebook posts tagging me, pictures of either of us with the others friends/family/etc., pictures of our families meeting
    4. Evidence of commingling of finances: adding her to my accounts, adding her to my insurance, showing she is a beneficiary to my life insurance policy
    5. Evidence of cohabitation: our leases with both our names on it, utility bills with both names on it, print outs of USCIS Informed Delivery emails showing mail for both of us in one email.
    6. Evidence of communication: online chat transcripts, emails, etc.
    7. All letters received from USCIS
    8. Copies of everything we sent in the I-485 plus her medical related stuff from the K1
    9. My updated financial information: most recent tax transcripts, letter from employer, pay stubs, etc.

Now certainly some of the evidence might fit in more than one category. It is more important that you remember which category you included said evidence, than you have perfect organization.

During the interview, this system allowed us to dig VERY rapidly through our evidence. Additionally, it seemed that most of the questions the interviewer asked were easily grouped in these categories; making it easy to provide evidence.

Yes, I understand what you're saying but we do pay for this process and I expect to get correct answers. If someone doesn't like their job then they should get a different one. I used to be on the phones for 3 years and I wasn't rude to someone or give them misinformation. If I did, I could lose my job. Others recently have gotten their case to NVC within 9-14 days whereas I was being told that my case was still at USCIS 2 weeks later so yes I was furious. I am not concerned with how long AOS takes. My fiancé will be here at that point so I could care less about that part.

I did call back a second time to confirm that it was sent on 3/9, pretty sure I got the same agent that told me it wasn't sent yesterday and was told it was not sent. I requested to talk to someone else since I was given information it was sent on 3/9 and he spoke to a "higher agent" and said he went into a different system and he did see it was sent on 3/9. I don't think it's crazy to expect to get correct information. It's not going to speed it up but it does make me feel better when I know that my case was at least sent and when.

I'm fed up of hearing "it can take up to six weeks for us to receive the case from USCIS". Why does it take *six weeks* to send a form that's been sitting in a pile for six months already?!

USEM will send a package including 1) the passport with affixed visa, 2) a sealed envelope, and 3) a letter that says (in large letters with an icon) "WARNING...DO NOT OPEN OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE VISA PACKET OR ENVELOPE. YOU MAY ONLY OPEN THE PLASTIC POUCH TO RETRIEVE YOUR PASSPORT."

    So dear August friends.
Today as I was  waiting patiently ( not!!) for the midday scan I had a thought. At the risk of being the nauseatingly positive and glass half full person here on the forum I suddenly thought “ what if I switched my perspective from ‘it’s  been 165 days since I filed ’ to ‘hey maybe I only have about 40 or so days left till I hear something’ “It made such a difference to my day and although I certainly wasn’t whistling while I worked or doing the NOA2 happy dance,  I did feel a whole bucket load better as that number is WAY smaller and easier to cope with and counting down seems a whole lot more sensible than counting up. So just a thought but maybe give it a try tomorrow and see if it makes your day a little easier to cope with.
    Sending hugs as always!
