My wife entered the US on a visa when she was 5 and left 5 months after turning 18. She has been in Mexico for 6 years now. We have our interview this month and I need to know do we need a waiver of forgiveness? Please help.

IF you do end up needing a waiver, please realize that it can take 6-9 months for approval.....( my wife's took 8 months)

I'm not entirely sure what the issue is? It was issued within 1 day of approval, then received in hand on the 3rd business day. Sounds pretty normal to me for CDJ (and very fast overall).

The issue was not necessarily with CDJ consulate really. The issue was poor direction/ advice given by legal counsel that we would have received packet 1-2 days after interview (if approved) to have visa in hand. I intentionally booked the hotel for an extra week after interview as a contingency (which we ended up needing). I am sharing my experience so that others don't "bet the farm" the process is only going to be 4-5 days TOTAL. I mean I guess it "could be" if everything fell within the right sequence and timelines... Prepare for the worse case scenario, hope for the best and don't forget to look heavily at a calendar when planning and take into account holidays, weekends, etc. as this delays the progress.

Hi nuggets - I never post in forums, but my husband is in a similar situation - waiting since Weds.

When he did his fingerprints, they gave him a white paper with 2 phone numbers, and an explanation of which numbers to choose from the menus in order to get a person. I have been calling the Juarez number a few times a day. We still don’t have a tracking number either, but you can get a person to talk to.

My wife never got anything like that... she only got a small square sheet of paper that listed how to register for the courier service which we had already done when  scheduling fingerprinting ?

For the pickup location did you choose a DHL location?

When I registered for fingerprinting and packet pickup the ASC center was the only option for CDJ. I have logged into the system and it even still shows ASC as delivery point. My wife and I and our 3 year old go over there twice/day and check in the event the email doesn't come (which I have read happens frequently)

I need HELP! My interview went fine and I was approved in ciudad Juárez consulate, I received an email where they gave me my tracking number 2 days after my interview, when I tried tracking my package it said that it was returned to the shipper.

Im trying to get info everywhere but nothing seems to work. Last night I checked my status on CEAC website and it went from issued to refused.

i called the asc but in their system I’m still approved so they made a report to the consulate so they can get more info about what’s going on.

i haven’t received any emails from the consulate or nothing regarding my case or why they asked for it back.

    Has anybody had this problem?

    what ever happened here ??

If your case is put in AP you might even wait few months.

Is that customary for the embassy in your country? People always stay in hotels waiting? Uh why not have it delivered home? By mail.  I never heard avout anyone just waiting around the hotel/embassy.

NOT in admin processing and visa was printed and listed on CEAC as "printed and issued" on Feb 9...

  7. Thurs Feb 1 - travel Colorado to El Paso to Cuidad Juarez

Friday Feb 2- medical exam 0600am  Fingerprinting 2:00 pm  3:00pm pick up medical results

    Saturday Feb 3 - Waiting in/around hotel

    Sunday Feb 4 - Waiting in/around hotel

Monday Feb 5- waiting in/around hotel (national holiday)

Tuesday Feb 6- waiting in/around hotel

Wed Feb 7- 09:15 Interview (approved) exited building 4.5 hrs after interview time

Thursday Feb 8 - waiting in/around hotel (CEAC updated to "issued")

Friday Feb 9- waiting in/around hotel

Sat Feb 10- waiting in/around hotel

Sunday Feb 11- waiting in/around hotel

Monday Feb 12- waiting in/around hotel

Tuesday Feb 13- waiting in/around hotel still.....

I share this as I thought it important that people allow some extra time in planning before and AFTER the interview.(no matter which consulate you are going to have interview at)  I thought we were in good shape as many have said they get their visa packets pretty quick after their interview approvals. (even our legal  counsel advised us 2-3 days post interview) I saw it as a max trip of 8 days yet after 13 days away from work , I am finding this not to be true. I have watched MANY people basically get "kicked out" of their hotel rooms (which happens to us tomorrow btw) while waiting. I share this with you all that are in the planning stages of your trips (time away from work, hotel reservations, money planning, etc) Keep in mind that this was a straightforward case with NO complications. The packet issuance doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it ? We are still here yet have seen people receive their packets that interviewed after my wife.

Ours was also updated to "issued" either the day of the interview or the day after. I think that just means you've been approved and an order has been created to print to visa, but it doesn't guarantee that it's on its way yet.

Ahhh... gotcha.... I thought "issued" meant it was totally done and complete...also. I dont know what "CSRA"  is listed as courier instead of DHL?

We didn't have ours on a Wednesday, but instead a Tuesday, but I might be able to provide some insight. The Juarez embassy states that the visa can take up to 10 business days to arrive. We decided to have ours shipped back home to Guadalajara and it took 5 business days to arrive (1 full week). If we had waited in Juarez it would have arrived at the ASC on Monday. However, the amount of time can change depending on the embassy's work load and other factors. Some people on here have had to wait the full two weeks to receive it at the ASC in Juarez.

Thank you for the insight and sharing of your experience !  I did see that the CEAC updated to issued on 08feb...(day after interview) just not sure where the delay is...

    Hi

    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico

We have received our Noa2 last friday, Could say us please How much time you late for obtain appontmaint date for interview?

Thank you in advance and I hope you receive your visa soon

We do a pretty good job at keeping up our timeline. feel free to take a look to get a rough idea of what you are looking at time wise. I can tell you that case complete with NVC was Oct 19, 2017 and interview didn't happen until 2-07-2018. Please keep in mind that you wont even make it past the entry guards without the police clearance letters. We watched many, many people getting rejected before they ever even made it inside. Made me sad.......

  11. Looking for help with anyone that has HAD a Wednesday interview CDJ. I thought we would have gotten visa yesterday (Friday) or even today (Saturday) as the ASC is open.I am under time constraints to be back at work 3 days from  now. Luckily I had padded the hotel stay when I booked it just in case. Just looking for someone that had a successful wed interview and when they actually had visa in hand. Thank you in advance

I have searched multiple times but haven't found any websites that are helpful. I was 10 when I was brought to the U.S. there's nobody in Mexico that can do it for me. Does anybody know if i need to do this? someone said that I only have to submit it if I was 16 or older living in Mexico, which i wasn't.

There is a privately owned service called "tramites Mexico" that can obtain various public documents. My wife needed a "Carta de Antecedentes No Penales" for our NVC submission. Apparently this operator has two offices (one in Mexico in Cancun and a US location in San Antonio TX) They use some type of couriers or something across Mexico and US to obtain and mail your documents to you. It is pretty expensive @ about $300 USD but was far less money than a trip OR surely getting "stuck" on the other side. From what I have read and researched I cannot comment for  sure if you would need one or not based on age at entry to US ? Most of what I have read says age 16 or older. If a ten year old crossed (by whatever method) I don't even know if any records would exist ??

Question my husband went to get his fingerprints at ASC today in CDJ. Now his interview is not until Tuesday the 16th but they asked him to take his paperwork on Monday the 15th to the consulate. Has this happened to anyone else? They gave him a time to show up as well. Maybe it's to process sooner or I have no clue. First time I hear of this

Maybe they're willing to move his date up due to a cancellation by another applicant ? That would be great provided you are good with it !

Hello everyone just checking in we have been in Juarez since Wednesday my husband did his fingerprints yesterday Thursday we got there early but they ask you to line up about 10 minutes before your appointment there are a lot of people but is a rather fast process and today at 6am we were at the clínica médica internacional for his medical check he got 4 shots and in total he paid $420 US dollars we were there for about 1 hour 45 minutes all together and later today around 2:30pm we go back for the results

Super ! I will be following your updates as my wife's medical exam and biometrics are Feb 2 Cuidad Juarez .  We have been pretty stressed out with what happened with all the delays in Oct,Nov,Dec. I REALLY appreciate your updates and your info will help us kind of figure out how things are going in recent history. I will look forward to hearing how long after approval you actually receive visa in hands.. Best wishes to you guys !
